How can I work in older versions of Indesign (cs4)

I own Indesign cs6 but have a client who uses cs4. (saving to idml is problematic so am trying to figure out a way to solve this) I will upgrade to CC soon but I understand that it will not allow me to use older versions. I have downloaded a trial cs4 for now, but when it runs out what can I do? My client doesn't need to upgrade so I doubt they will. I don't suppose my cs6 serial number will work at the end of the cs4 trial or will it? Seems like there should be some way to do this if I have bought later versions but signs point to no. any thoughts? thanks. L

Why is it problematic to save to IDML? That's the only solution I know.

10.5.8 is the highest OSX it can run.
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...

I'd avoid vesrion 24 though, as it no longer supports plug-ins like Flash.
SeaMonkey seems pretty fast also, with many options...

I'm using Numbers on my iPad and my Macbook.
Yesterday I opened my Macbook and for some reason it opened the Numbers app but didn't sync.
I didn't really need to work on the file so I just left it open.
A few hours later I wanted to do some work on my iPad.
It prompted me with a "there's a newer version on your Macbook" and asked me if I want to sync to that version.
I actually forgot I didn't do any work on my computer and tapped on the sync button.
Now I lost all of the information since before the sync.
How can I restore the older version on the iPad - before the sync?

For iBooks try downloading the current version on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in your purchase history. Then on your iPad go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it.
You can also try similar for the Kindle app - I don't know whether Amazon have made older versions of their app available in the store, so it may not work for that. If not, then as a work-around you could use their cloud reader 'app' : http://read.amazon.com - go to that site on Safari on your iPad and then create a homescreen shortcut for it (kindle cloud reader help)

Unfortunately I cannot find an older version of ibooks anywhere. istore will not allow me to install the newer version because of compatibility issues. HI! I have a somewhat similar problem I have an iPad with an iOS 5. I already have downloaded the iBooks and been using it for a long time. The problem is that i used my Apple ID on an iPhone 4 with an updated iOS 7 and downloaded iBooks on that device. When i checked my iPad, i can't access the iBooks anymore. It started to reinstall by itself but it is only installing halfway. Same problem i have with my Twitter app. I have already logged out my Apple ID on the iPhone 4 and tried to reinstall iBooks on my iPad but its says that it is already iBook 3 and that it is only compatible with iOS 7. As of Firefox 4.0 and newer one needs at least OSX 10.5+ and Intel hardware.
The latest you can use on your Intel with OSX 10.4.11 is Firefox 3.6.25 (released recently) which can be found at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
If you were to update to say OSX 10.5.8 then you can use Firefox 9.0.1

You can't switch to the old library you have to open it directly.
Find the old library in the Finder and double click it. Aperture will ask if you want to upgrade it. Once if is upgraded you can switch between it and the other library.
