How can we display a multi-value field?

Hi!
Let's say, I have a two EOs: A "Patient" EO, and an "Address" EO. Obviously a patient can have more than one addresses. So the relationship would be 1:n.
Now let's say, we would like to display the patient in one JTable (bound to a VO using JClient) row, and one column of that row should display all the patient's telephone numbers separated by commas.
How would we model the EO's and the ViewObject then?You can create a transient readonly attribute in patient that in it's accessor method, accesses all the addresses for that patient using a viewlink-accessor and then renders the phone numbers from them in a comma separated string and returns it. Then bind a Jclient column to that viewObject attribute and you should see what you've suggested above.

SQL2 | How to add condition on multi-value field?

Hello,
I am trying to perform a JCR query using SQL2 in CQ5.6. For one of the conditions, I wish to compare a multi-value field (E.g. cq:tags).
How would that be possible? Currenlt, I only managed to compare my query item's cq:tags to a single value (e.g. WHERE page.[cq:tags]='mynspace:mytag').

Can you sort a multi value field in descending order on a BC?

We have a date field which is a multivalue field on our Enrolment BC. The field comes from our Attendance BC. The Enrolment BC has a one to many relationship with an Attendance BC.
We would like to sort this date in descending order for use on the Enrolment BC. We tried this on the link using the associated list sort spec. However this did not work.
The only way we could get the multi value field to sort by descending order on the Enrolment BC was to add a sort spec on the Attendance BC. That is Date (DESC).
Is there any other to do this using configuration? We don't want to add a sort spec on the Attendance BC to do this. At the moment it looks we will need to use script on the Enrolment BC.

Hello Tim, would barely fit in this situation since this code resides on the client’s interaction side of things. I’d recommend using JavaScript for this matter, e.g. var Data_FName1 = document.getElementById(‘Data_FName1’).value;. If you still opt for using CFML, then you’d go for proxying your JavaScript code to a CFC.

How To Import Into A Table with Multi-Value Fields

Hello:
I have a table with a multi-value field that contains states in which a company does business. It is multi-value because there can be more than one state. I tried to import a text tab-delimited file in which the data was arranged as follows:
Field1 Tab Field 2 Tab OR, WA, CA Tab
The "State field contained the multiple entries separated by a comma (like they appear in a query of the multi-value field), but it won't accept it. Does anyone know how to import into a multi-value field?

Here's the code I used to populate a multi-value field from a parsed field. The parsing routine could be greatly improved by using the Split function, but at that time, I had not used it yet. FYI... the field name of the multi-value field in
the table was "DBAInStatesMultiValue", which you can see in the example below how it is integrated into the code.

How can I display a changing variable in a subvi on the front panel of the main vi as the subvi is excuting

In the document attached the vi on the right is sub to the vi on the left. On the subvi on the right the variable "Field Reading" is continuously updated on the front panel of the subvi as the "for" loop is executed, but only the last value of the variable is updated on the main vi front panel which is what is expected. My question is how can I display the changing value of "Field Reading" on the main vi front panel as the "for" loop in the subvi is running?

Hopefully I can explain it well enough. It really is simple.
1) Create an empty global variable and call it something like User Interface References.vi
2) For each and every control and indicator on your front panel, right-click and select Create/Reference
3) Place these references wherever you like (I use a series of Event cases to perform my initialisation and these all live in one of these event cases). They can be placed anywhere in the main vi.
4) For each of the references, right-click and select Create/Indicator
5) Moving to the front panel, Cut all the indicators and Paste them in the global variable (eg. User Interface References.vi)
6) Moving back to the block diagram, wire the global variable to each of the references and select the same named global variable.
All the hard work is now done (until you add another user interface terminal). You should now have something that look as shown below, [except the reference labels would be to the left (not sure why the snippet put them above)]. In my latest program I have 82 references!
Done. You can now access all your front panel controls and indicators anywhere in your program as shown below.
You can just select Value in most cases, but in this particular case I wanted to fire off an Event to do some things (log the alarm) as well as just update the value. So, this is another bonus with the method.
Hopefully this all makes sense. If not, let me know.

the standard (example) script allows for the display of one value only (as I understood). How can I display two or three values, from the very same table ? Students of mine during an HTMLDB workshop in Leipzig did ask that question.
Do we have a more detailed docum. on the use of the calendar ?

How can I display the correct enum ring value from a parameter file?

A user will make selections based on the menu ring (there are several of these) and then the values are saved for later use as a parameter (text) file. I have several menu rings which I write out to a parameter (text) file.
How can I take these text values back into the appropriate location in the menu ring. For example, if I have menuring_value at index 0, menuring_value at index 1, etc. how do I make sure that, when the par (text) file is loaded, the saved values are the ones displayed without erasing the displayed menu ring value and inputting the saved one (from the parameter file). I would like the text value to search the appropriate menu ring, make a match and then display that menu ring value when the parameter file is loaded.

If I understand your question, attached VI should have solved your doubt
In this example, Configuration File VIs are used to save & retrieve MenuRings' statuses.
As this VI is improvised, please further modify it to suit your needs.

How can I create a Text-Input Field in BexAnalyzer for a Planning Function

i want to create a pre calculation(contribution accounting) for Materials in BI-Integrated Planning. These Materials aren't in the master data. So I create a new Info Object for pre calculated materials with only a material-number as key and a text-description.
Now I want to write a Exit-Function, which creates new materials in these Info Object. The user should start this function in a planning application in BexAnalyzer. There the user should have the possibility to enter a text-description for the new material. How can I create such a Text-Field in BexAnalyzer and how can I read this text filed in a planning function (exit).

Hi Jürgen,
you can create a parameter for this in the exit function and a variable for the parameter. In BEx Analyzer then create a button for the planning function; in the button parameterization use VAR_NAME = , i.e. use an Excel formula here to get the value from an Excel input field.
The command range should be some 'hidden area' in your Excel sheet.
But may be you don't need this. Use a characteristic without master data. Then ensure that that the query uses the option 'key' as display. In new lines you can then enter the key, the system creates a SID on the fly (but the text table will not be updated). In this scenario you may take text also from the key. May be you can update the text table (online or in batch) by simply using function modules from function group RSNDI_MD (not released by SAP).
But observere that the system in BI Planning reads only the active version, i.e. if you change something on the fly the changes may not be visible.

Mass updating a multi-valued field- to append the new value

I have a question on multi-valued fields:
I have store table with 5 multi-valued fields, say MLB, soccer, college FTBL, college Basketball, etc.
A store can have 4 MLBs, 2 soccer teams, and so on.
Say, there is a new MLB that came out called Mexico MLB team.
A user wanted to add this to 30 stores using a mass update. But remember the 30 stores can have totally different sets of values in the multi-valued fields.
How can I add this new value while still preserving the MLB teams values of each store record?
Does MDM not support this feature?
I am using SAP MDM SP6
An answer would be highly appreciated.

Savi,
I assume you are defined these fields as multi-value lookup and linked to main table. In general, you can not because it will mess up and overwrite your multi-value entries for all of your 30 store records.
Here is something in MDM come in handy. It is following the same concept but design your model a little differently. If you model your multi-value fields into qualified lookup table, it will be easier and optimized to handle.
You can select all 30 records and mass-update with adding the new MLB entry into your Q-lookup table. Once you save, this mass-update action will respect all your diversity of each individual records with the new value added.
