iTunes works off of an ITL file in the iTunes folder
instead of dragging the folder out of the external hardrive and onto the desktop just do this
-hold shift key and double click iTunes to open it up
-you will get a prompt asking to create a new library or choose library, click choose library
-an explorer window will open up and you are going to navigate to the external hard drive and open the iTunes folder
-in the iTunes folder you are going to find a file that doesn't look like a folder but a page with a corner folded on it that is your iTunes library file
-double click the iTunes library file and your library will appear and you are good to go
WARNING: this is a good method for making sure your music doesn't take all of your computer's storage but keep in mind if you remove the external hard drive from the computer you may have issues accessing the library example next to the song titles

I have a problem, I'm trying to validate a xml document against the DTD. Here Im using SAXParser and having the ErrorHandler object passed when setting the error Handler, like parser.setErrorHandler(errorHandlerObj).
I need an output like where the entire XML document is read and all the errors have to be reported with the line number.
like example:

what happens with the present code is that it throws the first error it encountered and comes out.

You can try to set the following feature to 'true' for your SAXParser:

At least Xerces supports this feature.

How I launch an external program and kill the father?

my objective is that a jar file autoupdate himself with other jar file.
I must delete old file and replace with a new one, but it is imposible if it is running.
I think launch auxiliar application to do the work but when I use "Runtime.getRuntime.exec("....")" first program does not finish if the second one is not finished.
Also I tried with "Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c calc.exe");" and using Threads "setDaemon(true)", but does not work, daemon thread dies when first program finish.
Any idea?

Hmmm... We've done similar in a VB app... We wrote a "facade" program which looked like the actual product (icons, splash screen, etc) but was in-fact an automatic self-updater.
1. Show splash screen
2. Fetch a "config" file from the server, which tells us the latest version of each component (including the self-updater).
3. If this updater needs updating, download it, exec a batch script and terminate this process... the batch script just renames file updater.new updater.exe and starts updater.exe --> goto step 1.
4. check if the installed product components are up-to-date.
5. download new/updated components and install them.
6. start the actual application.
If I recall, there was no problem with exec'ing a new process and not waiting for it to end in VB... and I'm not getting your problem in java... this launches notepad and the program terminates... be very careful with anything which could write to either standard stream... the child will block when it's output buffer gets full.

The iPhoto version that is currently available at the App Store os 9.5.1 and requires the Mavericks OS X. The early 2008 24" iMac can run Mavericks. Once you have Mavericks installed (it's free) you can purchase iPhoto 9.5.1 from the App Store.
If you don't want to upgrade to Mavericks you can purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com and install iPhoto 9. Then up trade it to 9.4.3 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads website: Apple - Support - Search

it's well known, that in all these cases you describe I'm not a friend of a detailed Troubleshooting (I see Nancy#s smile already).
To be able to be independent in all this things It is one of the reasons why I prefer an external FTP program. The difficulties with which you have to fight encourage me in this opinion, not least because we always search for experts, we don't charge a "jack of all trades".
To manage several websites or to upload my files and sometimes for the opposite way, for a necessary download from my server or to use a "a site-wide synch", I'm using FileZilla. It simply looks easier for me to keep track of all operations precisely and generate or reflect easily the desired tree structure.
Above all, FileZilla has a feature (translation from my German FileZilla) called "compare file list". Here it's possible to use file size or modification time as a criterion. There is also the possibility to "hide identical files", so that only these files which you want to redact remain visible.
And even if it means you have to install a new program, I am convinced that there is an advantage. Here is the link to get it and where you can read informations about how it works:

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

I have a Western Digital 500 gig external hardrive that I have been using successfully with Time Machine to back up my files. A few weeks ago I noticed that the external drive light was ON but not moving back and forth indicating that it was working. The light was now simply ON but not moving. So I checked and sure enough Time Machine didn''t "see" it anymore. When I tried to fix it, the drive is no longer on the list. Nothing is on the list. How do I get the iMac to realize it has an external drive plugged into it? I don't even know why it worked when I first got it or why it stopped working. I only know that Time Machine doesn't have it listed.

Open disk utility and check the external drive and repair it. If that didn't fix the problem or if you are unable to see the drive in disk utility then the drive could be bad.

I'm sure there is a clever way to cascade functions to avoid adding an auxiliary column in your practice table, but to me it wouldn't be worth the aggravation. I would add a column that concatenates Columns A & B, AWG & mils. This column can be anywhere and would be Hidden. Let's say your new column is Column N.
In Column N, fill the body rows with:
=A&"-"&B
As good Numbers programming form would indicate, let's name the Practice Table Practices and only put the practices in that table. In another table where you do the lookup, let's call it Program, we will have the calculation/lookup.
Based on your example, I'd guess that AWG may be in Column D and mils in Column E of your Program table, and the Soak lookup in Column F. If I'm wrong, adjust the column id.
In Column F, write:
=OFFSET(Practices::I$1,MATCH(D&"-"&E, Practices::N,0)−1, 0)
The hyphen in the concatenated representation of the combination of AWG and mils is just tp make it more readable.
As I'm sure you know, you could use other approaches, but since I had you put your aux column at the end of your Practices table, OFFSET with MATCH is a clean approach. INDEX could be used too.
