How do I add the serial number for a lost iPad"
My iPad was lost due to a theft. I have the serial number and would like to add it to iCloud. However, I cannot figure out how to do that.Can someone explain the procedure as I am at witts end trying to figure it out.

You cannot add it after the fact. You get it into iCloud be activating Find My iPhone while you still have the device in your hands.

Open iTunes on the computer you used to sync the iPad and select Preferences… from the iTunes menu. (In Windows, choose Edit > Preferences.)
Select the Devices pane. Position the cursor over any of its backups. The iPad's serial number will appear in a popup window.

You don't need a serial number to install LabVIEW.
Registration is optional.
Activation is needed after the evaluation period.
Install it without number and it will work for a limited time (30days?) in evaluation mode, giving you plenty of time to decide if you want to buy it.

There are two LRs, one licensed by a serial number, and one licensed by logging into CC, but only one LR can be installed at a time.
You need to uninstall the serial-number LR, then Quit the CC Desktop application (using the gear/quit or right-click/quit) and restart it, then you should see LR in the Apps list with an Install button next to it. Install that version and you’ll be fine.
