How do i asynchronously write binary files?

Hi
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here but I cant see
what's wrong with my code. I'm trying to save a file using
asynchronous methods but for some reason the function
onCompleteFunc is not being called. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
function testSaving(fileObj, binaryData, onSuccessFunc,
onErrorFunc){
var onCompleteFunc = function(event){
try {
stream.writeBytes(binaryData, 0, binaryData.length);
catch (fileError) {
onIoErrorFunc();
stream.close();
onSuccessFunc();
var onIoErrorFunc = function(event){
stream.close();
onErrorFunc(event);
var stream = new air.FileStream();
stream.addEventListener(air.Event.COMPLETE, onCompleteFunc);
stream.addEventListener(air.IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,
onIoErrorFunc);
stream.openAsync(fileObj, air.FileMode.WRITE);
}

FileStream dispatches a COMPLETE event when the end of the
file is reached during an asynchronous read. When you're writing
asynchronously, you don't need to wait for any events to start
writing.
When you're done writing, call close() and then wait for the
CLOSE event, which signals that all data has been written to the
file.

  • How to read and write Binary files from Forms 6i C/S ?

    Hi There,
    I have a situation, where user wants to store attachements to a record (Could be any type of file, TXT, TIFF, or Word Doc etc.) and wanted to retreive later if they wanted to edit/read.
    We are using forms 6i and Oracle 9i in client/server environment setup. Does anybody know how to solve this requirment. I'm ale to load image files with read_image_file, but it could be text some times and it could be some thing elses like word doc or excel.
    Also i have to give user an option to view existing file attachments. I'm Planing to use BLOB in database table to store files.
    Any help in this regards is appreciated

    Thanks,

  • How can I read a binary file stream with many data type, as with AcqKnowledge physio binary data file?

    I would like to read in and write physiological data files which were saved by BioPacs AcqKnowledge 3.8.1 software, in conjunction with their MP150 acquisition system. To start with, Id like to write a converter from different physiodata file format into the AcqKnowledge binary file format for version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3). It will allow us to read different file format into an analysis package which can only read in file written by AcqKnowledge version 3.5 3.7 (including 3.7.3).
    I attempted to write a reader following the Application Note AS156 entitled AcqKnowledge File Format for PC with Windows (see http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app156Fi
    leFormat/FileFormat.htm ). Note the link for the Mac File format is very instructive too - it is presented in a different style and might make sense to some people with C library like look (http://biopac.com/AppNotes/ app155macffmt/macff.htm).
    I guess the problem I had was that I could not manage to read all the different byte data stream with File.vi. This is easy in C but I did not get very far in LabView 7.0. Also, I was a little unsure which LabView data types correspond to int, char , short, long, double, byte, RGB and Rect. And, since it is for PC I am also assuming the data to be written as little endian integer, and thus I also used byte swap vi.
    Two samples *.acq binary files are attach to this post to the list. Demo.acq is for version 3.7-3.7.2, while SCR_EKGtest1b.acq was recorded and saved with AcqKnowledge 3.8.1, which version number is 41.
    I would be grateful if you someone could explain how to handle such binary file stream with LabView and send an example to i
    llustrate it.
    Many thanks in advance for your help.

    The reading of double is also straight forward : just use a dble float wired to the type cast node, after inverting the string (indian conversion).
    See the attached example.
    The measure of skin thickness is based on OCT (optical coherent tomography = interferometry) : an optical fiber system send and received light emitted to/back from the skin at a few centimeter distance. A profile of skin structure is then computed from the optical signal.

  • How do i import labview binary file into diadem

    hi,
    i am acquiring an analog input, and writing the data into a binary file. how do i access the data?
    can i import the file into Diadem? if so how?
    thanks
    jithendra

    Hi jithendra,
    Well, that IS a simple binary structure.  I didn't have all the scope VIs on my computer, so I couldn't tell-- do your binary data files always have a fixed number of channels (2, perhaps)?  If so, it would be absolutely trivial to create a DataPlugin for you, and I would be happy to do so.  Do you save your binary data files with a consistent file extension (*.bin or something)?  Then DIAdem could automatically associate that file "type" with the DataPlugin, and you could simply drag and drop your binary files into DIAdem.
    Alternatively, the TDM Header Writer VIs would also be pretty easy to use to create TDM header files for your binary files-- just make sure you set the byte order property to Big-Endian, as in the examples in that AppNote.
    Either approach ought to work fine,

  • How to open and read binary files?

    How do I open and read Binary files?

    Did you  look on The Unarchiver's web site where it has a link to older versions? http://theunarchiver.googlecode.com/files/TheUnarchiver3.2_legacy.zip
    The best thing to do is ask your friends what programs they used to produce these files, or at least what format files they are producing.  Otherwise it's like being shown a car and given a bundle of 200 keys with no idea to which one to use, or even if any of them work with that car.
    Using The Unarchiver will likely not do anything because it too will not know what format files are involved, and they may not even been in an archived format.  If they sent you a Word file without telling you (a favorite of Windows users to do  -- it drives me crazy when they could have just sent them in plain text), The Unarchiver won't open them.  If it's a picture file then using Hexedit will just show you a bunch of unintelligible stuff as shown in an earlier post, though you may see a line of text providing a hint.
    As I said earlier, often .bin may be an executable program which needs another program to actually interpret it.  That's what Java is trying to do.  Still, it may think it can execute the file, but it is highly unlikely somebody would send you an executable program (and if they did I would not trust it).  For all you know it may be a Windows virus.

  • How can I open different binary files from BLOB column ?

    If we store some type of binary file (XLS, DOC, PDF, EML and so on, not only pictures) in BLOB column how can I show the different contents? We use designer and forms 9i with PL/SQL.
    How can I copy the files from BLOB to file in a directory or how can I pass BLOB's content to the proper application directly to open it?

    The mime type is just a string as explained above (e.g. application/pdf...). There are lot of samples here and on metalink.
    E.g. add a column mime_type varchar(30) to your blob table. Create a procedure similar to the following:
    PROCEDURE getblob
    (P_FILE IN VARCHAR2
    IS
    vblob blob;
    vmime_type myblobs.mime_type%type;
    length number;
    begin
         select document, mime_type into vblob,vmime_type from myblobs where docname = p_file;
         length := dbms_lob.getlength(vblob);
         if length = 0 or vblob is null then
         htp.p('Document not available yet.');
         else
         owa_util.mime_header(vmime_type);
         htp.p('Content-Length: ' || dbms_lob.getlength(vblob));
         owa_util.http_header_close;
         wpg_docload.download_file(vblob);
         end if;
    exception
         when others then
         htp.p(sqlerrm);
    END;
    Create a DAD on your application server (refer to documentation on how to create a DAD).
    Display the blob from forms (e.g. on a when-button-pressed trigger):
    web.show_document('http://myserver:port/DAD/getblob?p_file=myfilename','_blank');
    For storing blobs in a directory on your db server take a look at the dbms_lob package.
    For storing blobs in a directory on your app server take a look at WebUtil available on OTN.

  • How can I convert the binary file content to XML message

    Dear friends,
    I poll the binary file from a ftp server but the payload only includes the binary content, no XML structure in the payload, I hope to convert the binary content to a element node within the XML structure, how can I do that? via content conversion?
    Thanks and regards,
    Bean

    Read the binary file stream using java I/O standard functions and convert the read stream to Base64 format. Now map this content to one of the field in target XML structure.
    You need a java mapping for this.
    what is your target system?
    Thanks,
    Gujjeti.
    Hi Gujjeti,
    Thanks a lot for your kind help, my target system is R/3.
    Can I achieve that with a UDF or a simple way?

  • How do I create a binary file using PL/SQL

    Hi

    DBMS_LOB won't help you write a BLOB to disk.
    You need to an external procedure to do that. Eric K's java works great and he's helped me with his solution and probably about a thousand others.
    Doing a search on this forum will yield many discussions on this often regurgitated topic.

  • How can I read a binary file?

    In my AIR application, I'm trying to read a binary file and then post it via an HTTPService to a remote ColdFusion component that accepts a "binary" type argument.  The result of the post is always:
    The FILEOBJ argument passed to the addFile function is not of type binary.
    Here is how I'm reading the file in Flex, where fileObj is of type File:
    var fs : FileStream = new FileStream();
    var bytes : ByteArray = new ByteArray();
    fs.open(fileObj, FileMode.READ);
    fs.readBytes(bytes, 0, fs.bytesAvailable);
    fs.close();
    I then pass "bytes" as the parameter to my HTTPService's send call, like so:
    var params : Object = {method : "addFile", fileObject : bytes};
    service.send(params);
    When I debug, bytes contains the correct file size.  Is it not in binary form?  I've tried several other suggestions, but with the same result, so would appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

  • How does Java API handles binary files

    I couldn't find some documentation which describes how to extend the Java API for handling binary files. (I want to upload, check in/out (and delete) such files from within a Java application.) Does anybody know where I can find an example or some related documentation?

  • How do you open multiple binary files and plot them all on the same graph?

    I have three different binary files and I want to plot all 3 of them onto a graph.
    I am familiar with opening and reading a single binary file. (Thanks to the help examples!)
    But to do multiple numbers at the same time?  I was thinking of putting 3 different 'reading from binary file' blocks with the rest of the 'prompts', 'data type', etc.. and then connecting them on the same wire.
    However, I got into a mess already when I tried to read one .bin file to dynamic data type --> spectral measurements --> graph waveform.  The error was Not enough memory to complete this operation...  Why is that?  That didnt happen in the help example "Read Binary File.vi"...  Has it got something to do with the dynamic data type?
    Thank you for your time.
    Jud~

    Have a look at the image below and attached VI.  Simply enter the different paths into the PathArray control.
