How do I copy all of my messages from ipad to iphone?

I foolishly deleted all of my messages from my iphone5 when the imessage problem occured in OS 7.0.1. I also have an ipad (3rd gen wifi only) which has all of my imessages synced. They appear to be syncing correctly now but only new messages...I want to get the message history back on the iphone. Synching is not doing it unless I have a setting wrong...I don't have a great way of testing this. Also, I tried backing up my ipad on itunes and restored that backup to my iphone but the messages did not come accross. I have my apple id, phone number, and emails exactly the same. I'm not sure what else to try. Is there a step by step process to get messages (with message history) back on an iphone? Is there a way just to copy or send the full message history from ipad to iphone?

Messages are not synced so syncing with iTunes won't help. They are, however, included in the backup. There are some limitations on what will be restored when restoring an iPad backup to an iPhone but there is no documentation indicating that messages would not be restored. All I can suggest is try backing up your iPad and restoring the backup to your iPhone again.

You can transfer your messages from the 4s to your 6Plus by restoring a backup of the 4s to your other phone. Keep in mind this will overwrite what is on that phone right now, so be sure to import any new photos to your computer. You should be able to simply back up your iPhone via iTunes and that will automatically save your iPhone text messages to your computer. If for some reason you also want to export them or print them from your PC there a various programs that will let you do that. Here's a MacWorld article with a few tips.

Export the information to your Desktop. Stop syncing in iCloud, which should give you the 'On My Mac' option. Then import the information.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

This usually happens because iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days (even though your last 1000 photos will remain on your phone until deleted). When you enabled photo stream on your Mac you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days.
To get older photos to your Mac, create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99). The be sure you check Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto>Preferences>Photo Stream. You can then import them to your iPhoto library by opening the shared photo stream album in iPhoto, then going to Edit>Select All, Control-clicking on any of the selected photos and selecting Import.

If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.

hi, not totally, as when the N8 died, the shop here in France couldn't really do much to help and more like didn't want to do much to help, and transferred what data was available from the sim to the mini sim on the apple. Now looking in depth, Windows Contact is an 'orrible application that is not very easy to handle (Windows Address Book is no longer available for anything above Vista and is all tied into Windows Live and things to do with Hotmail and Messenger..... is there any way to select messages containing the same subject from the Inbox and the Sent folder by means of an keyboard shortcut. I.e. I would like to select a message in the Inbox folder and request Mail to display all related mails.

not like this. you can do a subject search inside one mailbox or in all mailboxes at once. you can not restrict a search to two mailboxes. even when searching one mailbox you have to enter the search string in the search window. there is no shortcut that will do it for you.
