How do I copy bookmarks to a letter in MS Word or Abiword?

I am writing a document in Abiword. There are about 35 bookmarks in a Firefox bookmark folder that I would like to include in the document. Copy and Paste does not work, and I cannot figure out how to get it out of the HTML backup. How do I get the bookmarks to a Windows folder???
I have an ASUS UL30A laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, using Firefox 5 (Love It!!!).
Please help. I just want to copy the Firefox hyperlinks to a folder. Why so hard? Anyway, thanks in advance.

You can do a Copy & Paste in the Bookmarks Manager (Shift+Ctrl+B) to create a copy of a bookmark.<br />
You can also drag the website's favicon on the left end of the location bar to a folder into the Bookmarks menu drop down list or to a folder in the Bookmarks side bar (Ctrl+B) or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar.<br />
In the side bar you need to click to the left of the icon to prevent Firefox from opening the bookmark.<br />

Here are two files you can check on/help me with.  When I try again,  it

    Thanks for your h4elp.
Also, can I create a file of bookmarks in MS Word or Open Office so that I can save them?

You can export your bookmarks to an HTML file on your old computer, and them import that file on your new computer. The HTML file also is your backup, and if you open it into Word, you could save it as a DOC file if you prefer.

no details. just need to move/copy extensive bookmarks from old laptop to new laptop.

The ''places.sqlite'' file in the profile folder stores both history and bookmarks. You can replace the current file with the one from the other computer if you want to restore the old set of bookmarks and history (doing so will of course replace the current set).

  • HT1751 I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I use a Flash Drive to do so?

I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I keep getting the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool  to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure how I can backup my songs, and then reinstall them into iTunes. Thanks for any help.

Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to  'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)
    Thanks for the info.

  • I have hundreds of bookmarkes. How do I copy them all at once to a folder?

I have assembled hundreds of bookmarks which are in various folders and now I'd like to copy them and paste them into a folder on my hard drive and then back them up. I can copy one at a time and do it but that will take for ever. Is there a way I can copy an entire folder and paste it or the individual bookmarks?
    Thanks for any advice.

Windows Internet Explorer used folders on the users hard drive to
store bookmarks. Firefox, however, only uses one file for bookmarks.
    This will tell you how to export your bookmarks to other computers;
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-bookmarks-internet-explorer
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/febe/ FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension)]''' {web link}
FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your
Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more.
In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild
your saved files individually into installable .xpi files.
It will also make backup of files that you choose.

  • How do I copy my bookmarks from Safari on my iMac to my new iPhone 6?

How do I copy my bookmarks from Safari on my iMac to my new iPhone 6?

    Hello!
Here is the manual. iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer - Apple Support
    - Note that the manual presupposes you have Mountain Lion installed on your Mac, which is what it says in your message, so I'm assuming you have.
Also, I suppose you're not using iCloud. If you ARE using iCloud on your Mac and iPhone, I recommend using that for your bookmarks over USB-syncing. Here's the manual for that: iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Bookmarks and Reading List - Apple Support
    The relevant excerpt:
Turn iCloud Bookmarks off and back on:
    Quit Safari.
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then click the icon for iCloud.
If you are using OS X Mavericks or Mountain Lion, deselect the checkbox next to Safari. If you are using OS X Lion, deselect the checkbox next to Bookmarks.
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and choose iCloud.
Select the checkbox next to Safari (or Bookmarks). Click Merge.
    Close System Preferences.
Open Safari and test to see if the issue is resolved.
