How do I create a live copy of a table in Numbers?

I'm not even sure how to word this question, which is why I've had a hard time searching for it.
I'm working on a spreadsheet that has 265 rows on it. In the future, we will probably be adding to those rows. I need to have that exact same information duplicated onto another sheet in the same document, so if I add a column to Table A, it's also added automatically to Table B.
Is this possible?

Say you have Table A and Table B. If you add a column to Table A, there's no way that I know of for a column also to be added automatically to Table B's structure. But you can add the extra column to Table B manually too and then have the contents of that new column update automatically when you change the contents in the corresponding new column in A.  Is that what you want?
To do that you could put simple formulas in the "receiving" table B that refer to table A. In a cell in table B type =, hop over to the source table A, select the source cell you want, and hit return.
Then, if the two tables have the same structure, you can take the formula in table B and fill down or right to pull other values from table A. If they have a different structure, you would insert the formula cell by cell.
Using AppleScript with the old Numbers there are ways to "push" data from one table to another and even, I think, create new tables and columns and fill them with values. But the new Numbers 3.0 does not support AppleScript.

    Either you moved or copied your iPhoto library folder to the Desktop.
    Quit iPhoto. Rename the folder on your Desktop to something else, such as "foo." Launch iPhoto. If you still see all your photos, you can delete "foo."
    If you don't see your photos, quit iPhoto, rename "foo" to "iPhoto Library," and put it in your Pictures folder. Try iPhoto again.

    I am attempting to create multiple live USBs within one flashdrive so that i can boot various operating systems without having to buy multiple USb sticks. I am using a Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Operating System currently. I am using the Terminal provided by the OS.
    I would like to try Debian, Kali, Precise Puppy, and Sabayon- with one space left empty for whatever Linux OS I would like to try next. I have partitioned an 8GB flashdrive into the following sections:

    I have figured out how to change the .iso files of the operating systems into .img files with the following commands:
    hdiutil convert -format UDRW /path/to/input.iso -o /path/to/output.img
    a .img.dmg file is created, this is corrected in the next line of code *please note: I am a a very beginner at programming, and would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you!
    mv /path/to/output/file.img{.dmg,}
    This is where I started to get confused:
    I entered diskutil list to find the location of the partitions on my flashdrive, and this is the relevant section:

    If you haven't come across the workarounds thread you may find helpful tips there on this and other ways to work with Numbers 3.
    ronniefromcalifornia discovered how to bring contacts into Numbers 3. As described in this post:
    "Open Contacts
    Select all the cards you want
    Copy
    In Numbers, in a table, select cell A1
    Paste
    Boom. Works great. Even brought in the pictures. Cool."
    So instead of drag and drop, just select in Contacts, copy, and paste into Numbers

    Do I have to make those changes after the files are on the device?

    Hi, and welcome to the forums.
    There is no 100% secure data. None. If the CIA or NSA wants it, they'll get it.
    In the real world, you might be better off using Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) to create an encrypted +Disk Image+ or +Sparse Bundle Disk Image.+ Give it a good password and put your sensitive files in it.
    Then anybody who gets the drive will have to know the password or find another way to decrypt it. Short of somebody like the CIA or NSA, that's pretty unlikely.

    Yeah, I have some good news and some bad news:
    - Good news: Keyboard stuffing (as implemented in the elare framework) works equally well on both platforms, provided the appropriate keystroke exists on both platforms.
      (Mac version uses applescript, Windows uses autohotkey - both assure Lightroom is the target) - Note: @2011-07-30, I haven't actually tested this particular function on Mac - but I've tested other similar functions on both platforms.
    - Bad news: It doesn't always work on either platform, since keystrokes may be usurped by open dialog boxes and open text fields in Lightroom...
    - Good news: failure is 100% detectable.
    Bottom line:
    If the kludgy nature of this solution would be more bad than good for you and/or your users, then this is not a viable solution.
    If your users would prefer the caveats in order to be able to get the job, then this solution will work well enough for now.
    PS - I'm presently using it in ChangeManager and its a godsend for me. Since I understand the limitations, my failure rate is appx. 0%.

    We are starting work on a large catalog project where we will need to change the gradient fill to -90 on every other row in the table - excluding the header, footer and first row of each table.
    How would you adjust the script you mentioned above to do this? and would the script work in Indesign CS5.5 versus Indesign CS6
    It does get a bit more complicated. Not super-complicated, but not as simple.
    The above idiom only works for all the rows in a table. If you want to do any specific subset, then you need to use a loop.
    But is it necessary that you change the gradient angle on every other row? Isn't it sufficient to set the gradient angle on all rows, and then apply the alternating gradient on alternate rows using the the alternating fills feature, as suggested by Jeffrey?
    I guess you also want to apply to...all the tables in your document? That would then be:
    app.activeDocument.stories.everyItem().tables.everyItem().cells.everyItem().gradientFillAngle=-90;
    Unless you need to be more selective? But I don't think you do?

    in my application i have emp table in my source view
    in that table i have inserted static data in columns i.e., empid, empname. i have 3 buttons create, delete, modify buttons in that table. when i press Create button it navigates to another view1 in which we have a emp form with create new emp button and labels empid, empname and 2 input fields.After filling the form when hit the create newemp button the form data should be displayed in the table.
    The same for Modify and delete.  i.e., when i select a particular empid row in my source view table and hit the modify button it should navigate to view2 in which the particular record form with data displays and after making necessary modifications the modified data should be display in the particular row .
    For delete button, when i select a particular record in the table and hit delete button it should be deleted from the table.

    I just need a clarification, are you getting the table data from the back-end system?
    On the second view, after the user input on click of the "Create New" or "Modify" button, update the back-end. Once the update is successful, fire a plug back to the first view and reload the table or execute the model again. The updated records will be fetched from back-end system.
    On click of "Delete" button, remove the record from the back-end and execute the model again.
    This holds good if you have the data fetched from the back-end.

    I have a freehand rendering that I need to get into a workable illustrator format.  What format do I save it in when scanned, and how do I engage live tracing so that I can play with the resulting graphic or create that graphic?

    Illustrator can work with tif, jpeg, psd among some other formats. Don't make the file too big. Illy pops up a warning when it's bigger than 1500 Pixels anyway
    First I would try and lighten the background in Photoshop so it's  white and delete the dark spots in the edges of the scan.
    In Illy you don't just hit the trace button, but click on the little  arrow on the right that leads you to the tracing options. Do you want to trace colored or Black and white?
    For black and white traces you can choose between fills and strokes.  If you want to capture the drawing gestus, fills will be suitable. If  you like to achieve exactly tha same line weight for all of the figures  later, choose strokes. Illy will then trace single lines in the middle  of the pen lines (or whatever tool those figures were drawn with).
    Check the "Ignore White" option (Illy CS3 and up), so that the  background won't be created as dozens of white objects.
    Then check "preview" and adjust the other options. If that's the  biggest scan you have, you will have to choose a rather small amount of  "minimum area" (below 25) and "path fitting".
    For both applies: the smaller the value, the exacter the result, but  the more anchors in paths
    Then you can only try and work with the "corner angle" setting.
    After doing the trace, you have to expand it (in order to use the  paths).

    I do not think that it is possible to have more than one Automated Row Fetch process in a given page. See the thread:
    ORA-01403: no data found : Unable to fetch row multiple automated row fetch
    On your second question, the manual process should work provided:
    P_ID has a value when the process executes. You can do it this way:
    i. Make this process as a on-load After/Before header process
    ii. Make sure that P_ID page item has value when the process executes (set it from another page or before the pl/sql process executes)

    The install-by-doubleclicking Automator Service (where it becomes a menu pick if you use it often and find that more convenient than a formula in a spreadhseet) is here (Dropbox download). Depending on your settings you may need to go to System Preferences > Privacy & Security and click the 'Open Anyway' button. If you want you can assign it a keyboard shortcut in System Preference > Keyboard > Shortcuts.  If you don't like it or find you the formula is just as easy for you, then in Finder hold down the option key, choose Go in the menu and navigate to Library > Services, where you can trash it the way you would any file or package.
