How do I create hyperlinks in drop-down box.... (see details)

I'm creating a form that will be used as an employee performance review. On page one of the form, I'd like to insert a drop-down box titled "JOB TITLE" and there will be approx 10 different job titles in the list that the VP can select from. Depending on the job title that the VP selects, I'd like a hyperlink that takes him to a new page within the pdf document.
For example, the VP is going to complete a performance review for a "General Mgr" on his/her team. He selects "General Mgr" from the drop down list in the "Job Title" box, and when he does, a new page opens that has questions related to the job responsibilities of a "General Mgr". If the VP had selected a different Job Title, such as "Area Mgr", then a different page would have opened up with questions related to the job of an Area Mgr, which would be different than a Gen Mgr.
Can anyone assist me with this?

In the sample the script is in the exit event of the dropdown. You can view the script by selecting the dropdown, which is on the Master Page and viewing the script editor at the top of the workspace. If the script editor is not open, you can open it from the Windows menu. By default it is only one line high, so I would recommend dragging the bottom bar so that you see a good few lines. You can view different events in the script editor and set the language.
Also if you look at the dropdown you can see in the Object > Field tab that I have set the values that are displayed in the dropdown and in the Object > Bindings I have not specified bound values, so I can use the display values in the script.
In the hierarchy I have named each of the pages with a unique name (eg appendixAdmin), that is also used in the script.

Creating a dependent drop down box in an interactive form?

Hello -
I'm pretty new to Acrobat and not fluent with JS (I'm a chemist), so please forgive me if this seems a silly question:
I'd like to create a form wherein there are two drop down boxes and the choices seen in the second of the two are dependent upon the choice made in the first. An example of such might be a list of departments in the first field and a list of staff in the selected depertment in the second field.
I'm using Acrobat ver 7.0 (Pro) with Designer, by the way.
I've been able to do this in Excel through use of validation functions, but I'd like to get away from Excel if at all possible.

To keep the department/cities sample; i'll try to explain you how i did it in Designer:
I created a "variable" bloc (at the bottom of the Hierarchy tab) called Cities
An other one called Departments
A last called CitiesFunctions
In the Cities bloc, i declared an array with all cities.
In the Department bloc, I declared an array by department. In each array, i have 2 items : the index of the first city of the department in the cities tab and the index of the last city of the department in the cities tab.
On my form, I created a dropDownList called Department (populated with departments) and an other called cities initialized empty.
On Department change event:
I rase the cities field.
I call my function getCitiesByDpt in my CitiesFunctions bloc with the department in parameter.
In these function I call the array corresponding to the department in the Cities bloc and I populate my listBox cities by the results (tab of cities from parameter 1 to parameter 2 of my Department array).
Carrefull : if a list has too much items, you should create a "manual list" composed of 1 textField, 1 button, 1 listBox (it's better for performance)
After than, always by script, you can restrict you second list by the sequence of characters eventualy keyed in the field Cities.

Why form is creating a "memory" drop-down box in the PDF Form

I have created a form for someone using Adobe Acrobat CS4. While this doesn't happen when I use it on my computer, or even my work computer, apparently one of the end users, as they enter data into the form, it remembers previous information she had entered and gives her like a "memory" drop down box. She doesn't want that. How can I format it so it doesn't do that? Thank you.

How do I enable multiple dynamic drop down boxes?

I'm using Windows 2000, Java SDK 2 Standard, Tomcat, Apache, Microsoft Access and Macromedia Dreamweaver Ultradev 4.
With UltraDev I'm trying to create a jsp page that has more than one dynamic drop down box or more than one dynamic select list box. I can show one dynamic object and as many static objects as I need. But when I add a second dynamic drop down box, with a second recordset, the page will only display the first dynamic object and all content following that object will not display.

How to make choices in a drop down box change a value in another box

Hi, I am fairly new to the world of creating forms in Adobe so please bear with my question if it seems simple. I have seen where a lot of people are using code and I am very confused. I am creating an order form and have created a drop down box (combo box). There are 4 choices in this drop down box. When the user chooses one of these choices, I would like an amount to appear in a seperate box. Each choice would have a different amount. Is this possible? If so, could someone please give me step by step instructions. I appreciate any help given!!

Yes, the best way would be to set your 'Amount' value into the 'Export Value' for each item in the combobox. Then, you can set the calculation for your text field to the following (Be sure to change "ComboBox1" to the name of your combobox):

WAD - How to Minimize the Space Between Drop-Down Box and Table

Hi all,
I am trying to display a query in 'Table' with Web Application Designer (WAD). First, I have placed the 'Drop-down box' web-item and 'Table' web-item below it in the Web Template. There is an half-inch of space between the 'Drop-down box' and the 'Table' when it displays on the browser. It doesn't look good with this gap.
How can I eliminate or minimize this gap, PLEASE ?.

   Thanks a lot for your help. Now it reduced the gap between the drop-down box and table to 3mm on browser.
But, there is no gap on web template. If we change some settings, we could still further reduce the gap while displaying it on browser.

How to set default value for drop down box in jsf

Can anyone help me to set the default value in drop down box using <af:selectManyChoice> ?
As I know there is an unselectedLabel attribute in <af:selectOneChoice> but not valid attribute for <af:selectManyChoice>.

How do I create a dependant drop down in a web form?

I am trying to add a web form to a web page that includes a dependant drop down menu. For example, I'd like there to be a drop down menu called "Interested Class" with three fields: "Tribe Fit", "Tribe Life" and "Tribe Core". When a user selects one of these fields ("Tribe Fit" for example), I want a new drop down menu to appear with the following choices: "7:00am", "12:30pm", "7:00pm".
I have attempted this here and as you can see it's not working at the moment. The time drop down fields should be hidden until an "Interested Class" has been selected.

I've placed my JS code in the HTML view of the actual web page as I noticed when I place it in the actual custom form it doesn't carry through to the page. I don't know if I'm placing my JS in the correct place though.

This wont work, Needs to be a lot more then this and CSS to hide things rather then script hiding them.
Nicole, The times that are availible I gather differ depending on the type of the dropdown?
You do not need multiple time dropdowns.
Steps you need to do first on the form:
1. Ensure the custom form field dropdown for interested class exists.
2. Have custom dropdown with all the times that any of them can be. This is CSS hidden by default.
3. Also CSS hide all the options in the select as well in your CSS.
Next can you show what classes have what times as an example then can put the code more relevent to your example you can work off.
The code will follow along the lines of....
Dropdown On Change
          If selected options is xxx class then
          fade in option times dropdown
          Show these otpion times
        if selected option is zzz class then
          fade in option times dropdown
               show these times
More control as you need to work properly, only two dropdowns needed.

How can I create a rollover drop down menu from a link in Dreamweaver CS5?

Hello all, I am working on a portfolio website and I was just wanting to know if there is any way that I can create a drop down menu from a text link that cascades once the cursor has made contact with the link. I would like to have it in my navigation bar where the Portfolio link is. Basically, my navigation bar looks like this : Home | Resume | Portfolio | Contact. I only want three items on the drop down menu beneath the portfolio link: Traditional Art, Photography, Graphic Design. I would really appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!

you can create a method to populate the context attribute that you are using to map to your dropdown box.
DATA: node_info TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node_info.
DATA: it_table TYPE wdr_context_attr_value_list.
** select your dropdown data into it_table and pass it to your context attribute.
** here, mine is call PROJ_TYPE - the values should appear in your dropdown.

I am using ACrobatX pro. I am a determined novice and any help is appreciated.
Before I added any code I created my PATTERN drop-down box and my ColorSelect drop-down box. For the ColorSelect box, which is the one I want to vary depending on the Pattern selected, I have not entered any items since this is what I want the JavaScript to do after the pattern is selected.

Then I selected the PATTTERN drop-down box properties, and picked Actions. Under select trigger I thought Mouse exit (kind of like after update) made the most sense. For select action I picked run a Javascript. Then in the pop up window where it says Create and Edit Java Scripts I typed SetColorEntries();
The system accepted my code; however, when I try to run it, nothing happens. Well actually I get the dreaded error beep.
I am hoping someone sees what I am doing wrong, and can offer some help. This order form will be very useful to my company and once I get it, I am hoping to apply to various other order forms I am creating for our customers

Use the inspector for the cell you want the "Pop-Up" menu. Select Cell Format "Pop-Up". Then enter the list of items required. You can copy this cell to other cells with the same requirements.

1.how to create drop down box in screen painter?
To get Drop Drown Box on screen .
Follow these steps.
1.
Go to T.Code SE51 and Select Laypout for the Screen.
2.
Double click on the field for which u want Dropdown box.
3.
Then U will see Name ,Text ,DROPDOWN.Click on that and select List Box or ListBox with key . Better to to select first one.
4.
Save and Activate ur screen .
5.
Enter the following piece of code in the PBO of the screen.(Change for ur requirement).
6.
The following code should be written under PROCESS BEFORE EVENT in the MODULE.

i_natio TYPE vrm_values, "-->Table that is passed through FM vrm_set_values

2.1.How to create or display default date and time values?
1.
create input field for DATE and TIME on screen.ex. DATE1 and TIME1 are screen field names .
2.
Just assign SY-DATUM to DATE1 and SY-UZEIT to TIME1 under PROCESS BEFORE EVENT.
3.How to create text box for giving comments?
1.
Define one variable in the TOP include with type STRING means Global variable.
2.
Create one input field by giving screen field name which u have defined in the above step.
4.How to store the records that we are entering in a table?
For this case.. Create one table control. you can select one record and create record in the Z table by pressing button on Application toolbar..
Check the following steps to handle Table control.
1).
U should take one variable in your internal table or in structure which
is used for table control fields
ex :
data :
begin of itab occurs 0 ,
    mark type c , "This is to select the record.
    matnr like mara-matnr ,
    matkl like mara-matkl,
    maktx like makt-maktx,
end of itab .
Controls: TABC types TABLEVIEW using screen 100.
2).
This mark variable should be given in Table control properties.
follow the path
double click on the table control-->attributes .->select
w/SelColumn and in that itab-mark. Check in the figure.

3).
After that. Take this example.
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE STATUS_0100.
LOOP AT ITAB WITH CONTROL tabc
ENDLOOP.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE CANCEL AT EXIT-COMMAND.
LOOP AT ITAB.
   Module read_table_control.
ENDLOOP.
module user_command_0100.
In this Module read_table_control, You should write the following code
MODULE read_table_control INPUT.
MODIFY itab INDEX tabc-current_line."( This will update the
"ITAB table MARK field with 'X ' whatever we have selected
"on table control.)
ENDMODULE.
4)
If you want to Delete some of the records from Table control
follow this code Create one pushbutton and give Fucnction code to that
and write below code
CASE OKCODE.
WHEN 'CREATE'.
LOOP AT itab WHERE mark = 'X'.
"Use UPDATE statement to create new record.
ENDLOOP.
ENDCASE.

But how to make data to be visible in Dropdown box, when i click the drop icon in that box...???

How to create a drop down box values on design time?

Hello,
I have a drop down box that I would like to edit on design time to have the valus 1 to 10.
Is it possible to doo it on design it or do I have to create a loop in the code to do that?

See go to LocalDictionary->Data Type-> SimpleType Right Click and create a Simple Type giving some Package Name
Once u have created
There u will see Enumeration Tab and give Key Value Pairs by pressing New Button
Now Create a Context Attr and at Type property select that three dots
Then go to Dictionary Simple Type and select the Package u have given
then select the Simple type u have created
Then assign the context Attr to the UI Element
