  • [VB, CS3] How to place images using wildcards in filenames

    Dear all,
    Can anyone think of a way to place an image using a wildcard in the filename?
    I can place the image fine if the complete filename is known, but what if the filename changes from day to day? - eg it could be House1234.tif for one document then House56r.tif for another. So I'd like to place House*.tif sort of thing. The files are in different folders, of which the path is known.
    Any ideas?
    Nigel

    Get the contents of the whole folder in an array, then you can check each item to see if it matches some criterium. In Javascript (VB should be similar):
    function find_file (dir, mask)
       var f = Folder (dir).getFiles ('*.*');
       for (var i = 0; i < f.length; i++)
       if ( // compare f[i].name and mask here
          return f[i];
    This returns the first file in "dir" that matches "mask".

    Hi Dan,
    I don't think you can use wild cards here.
    Please see the Integration Guide for 9.4. Section: "REST API -> Quick Reference".
    Here you'll find a table of what features are supported for the different resources exposed by the API. In there you will find a row for "All Service Items", and you'll see that: Get All, Sorting, Paging and All Filters are supported; Wildcards Name Search are not...
    When I came accross this same situation, I assumed that I am trying to do a Wildcard Name Search here... and it's not supported. It does, however, work for the other (SI Designer created) columns, which is what I believe the documentation is trying to describe. (Though, personally, I feel this is a bug).

  • Query selection filter by using wildcards

    Dear all,
    we have SAP BI 7 and we would like to increase usability of the end-user. We would like to use wildcard ('*') in the variable selection field of a reporting query to make the search/filter easier. Therefore, the search should support at least wildcards or even better the functionalities of R/3 (give results which are similar than to the searched word).
    An example:
    A report shows sales volume per customer and country. The user has to select in the variable selection the customer before the report is showing. As there are thousands of customer listed, the user should be able to use wildcards to list only relevant/wanted (e.g. 'ak*' and should get all customers containing any string like AK, ak, or other variants --> Independent if lower or upper case has been entered in the filter search).
    Question:
    1) How can you enable this wildcard filter function?
    2) Is there any documentation/example available what can be entered and how the result is showing
    Thanks for your support!!!

    Hello,
    When u create a variable on infoobject for selection, select selection option from drop down box of details tab. Now when u execute the report it will give you a box before the input box, select * in that and the wildcard function should work. Just try it out.

  • Does anyone know how the cutout filter works and is there a way of achieving the same effect without using filters to get more control over final look?

    does anyone know how the cutout filter works and is there a way of achieving the same effect without using filters to get more control over final look?

    Several ways to get similar results.  Image > Adjustments > Posturize with low values similar to what you'd use n Cutout.  This is the most flexible way I can think of as you keep the image in RGB mode with layers intact.  A more radical approach would be to reduce bit depth using Indexed Colour.  You'll need to experiment with settings, try changing Forced to Primaries, and Matte to Foreground Color.  There's no going back from this route, although you can change the mode back to RGB to re-enable layers, adjustment layers etc.
    A nice thing about the Filter gallery filters is that you can change the layer to a Smart object with all the control that gives you.
    Now if only this forum could filter out bizarre content.

  • How to use wildcards in ABAP query where condition?

    Hi,
    Please tell me how to use wildcards in ABAP qurey where condition.
    e.g. select * from mara where matnr = * (wildcard we need to use.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Do you want to query asterix * ?
    select * from mara where matnr = '*'.  "then just put it in apstrophes
    or you want certain part of string be used as * ?
    select * from mara where matnr like '%*'  "then use % sign before it
    or maybe you want something like this
    select * from mara where matnr like '%1' . "then it will look for all materials having '1' inside it

  • How to remove tag using filter

    I want to use a filter to remove tags already on emails. I can add tags using a filter but cannot see how to remove tag using filter.

    The FiltaQuilla add-on provides a "remove tag" option.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/filtaquilla/
    http://www.ramsden.org.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html
    But, out of interest, what's the use case for removing tags by filter? Tags are normally used to facilitate or prompt human intervention and I don't immediately see the value of clearing a tag in a filter. Why tag if a filter will be dealing with it anyway?

  • How to search for files using wildcards * and ?.

    Hi All,
    I've been searching the forum for a couple of hours now and have been unable to find a good example of how to search a directory (Windows OS) for a file using wildcards * and/or ?. Does anyone out there have a good example that they can share with me?
    Thanks

    Hi All,
    First of all I want to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my question. All of your responses where greatly appreciated.
    I took the example code that was posted by rkconner, thanks rkconner, and modified it to allow me to search for files in a directory that contain * and/or ?. Yes, I said and/or! Meaning that you can use them both in the same file name, example: r??d*.t* would find readme.txt.
    I've posed my complete and thoroughly document code below. I hope it is very helpful to other as I have searched many forums and spent many hours today trying to resolve this problem.
    Enjoy
    * File Name: WildcardSearch.java
    * Date: Jan 9, 2004
    * This class will search all files in a directory using the
    * asterisk (*) and/or question mark (?) as wildcards which may be
    * used together in the same file name.  A File [] is returned containing
    * an array of all files found that match the wildcard specifications.
    * Command line example:
    * c:\>java WildcardSearch c:\windows s??t*.ini
    * New sWild: s.{1}.{1}t.*.ini
    * system.ini
    * Command line break down: Java Program = java WildcardSearch
    *                          Search Directory (arg[0]) = C:\Windows
    *                          Files To Search (arg[1]) = s??t*.ini
    * Note:  Some commands will not work from the command line for arg[1]

  • How can I do this using Wildcards?

    Hi everyone,
    I have a classed called LabeledDecimal which is a subclass of BigDecimal. Now, I have a class called Pair which is written using Wildcards.
    This class has a copyFrom() method which looks like :
    public void copyFrom(T p2)
         this.first = p2.first;
         this.second = p2.second;
    }If I try to use this method like below:
    Pair<BigDecimal> p1 = new Pair<BigDecimal>();
    Pair<LabeledDecimal> p2 = new Pair<LabeledDecimal>(ld1, ld2);
    p1.copyFrom(p2);Then I get the error:
    The method copyFrom(Pair<BigDecimal>) in the type Pair<BigDecimal> is not applicable for the arguments (Pair<LabeledDecimal>)
    How do I fix the copyFrom() method to get rid of this problem using wildcards?
    Edited by: fantastic_ray on Mar 20, 2008 12:07 AM

    Figured it out!
    public void copyFrom(Pair<? extends T> p2) That will fix it.

  • How can I filter thermocouple noise using a TC-2095 and SCXI-1102c?

    Hello all,
    I currently have four TC-2095s connected to SCXI-1102c cards inside a SCXI-1001 chassis. These thermocouples are floating and I have been getting a fair amount of noise (3-phase 400 Hz and even 60 Hz noise) when we power on some equipment such as blowers and fans. Using this current set up, how can I filter the noise? Or do would I need to set up a new hardware configuration (i.e. SCXI-1102 cards)?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi RALoo,
    The 1102C has a lowpass filter with a cutoff at 10kHz, so you will not be able to filter in hardware with your current setup.
    Your first option would be to use a software filter.  LabVIEW has several functions which accomplish this. More information on this can be found here: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvanls/filter_vis/
    The second option would be to change to SCXI 1102 cards as you suggested.  The lowpass filter of the 1102 has a selectable cutoff frequency at 2 Hz, which will stop the 400 and 60Hz noise from affecting your readings.

  • Filter using 2 input images (Flash). How to implement?

    Hi. I know how to implement filters that process single image as it was described in Pixel Benders Developer's Guide, but how can I apply filter using 2 input images one of which is computed? I wrote a filter that coppies alpha channel of one picture and applies it to another, but flash implementation is quite a puzzle for me... Any help appreciated

    In our tutorial from last year's MAX, I showed how to use a two-input pixel bender kernel as a blend filter for two images on the stage. that is posted here:http://blogs.adobe.com/kevin.goldsmith/2008/12/materials_from_1.html
    In one of my recent blog postings, I showed how to use a ShaderJob with multiple inputs. I was doing it for audio processing, but it works almost identically for images: http://blogs.adobe.com/kevin.goldsmith/2009/08/pixel_bender_au.html
    Hopefully one of these should help, but if you have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask...

    You cannot defined the wildcard for the file names. But you can provide the file name dynamically if you are on soa suite 10.1.3.4 minimum. You can get information about that in this link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/adapters.htm#CHDBBFBD

    Cochez la case "Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus".
    --=====
    Save the script as a Script: highlight_ digitspluscolon.scpt
    Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Pages:
    Maybe you would have to create the folder Pages and even the folder Applications by yourself.
    Open a Pages word processor document.
    go to the Scripts Menu, choose Pages, then choose "highlight_ digitspluscolon"
    In the text objects, the background of groups of digits
