How do I fit my browser to my screen size

Hi everyone,
So I'm wondering how I can open safari and have the entire page cover my screen. Also, I'm using MS word, and it only takes up half my screen in full screen mode. It's my second day on a mac ever and I'm loving it just not used to it.

Apple should have included a optional "hold option and click the green button" for full screen override mode a long time ago.
Some programs will interpret the green button click as to fill the screen and others not.

    I am using Ubuntu OS. I want firefox to open in full screen mode when ever i open it. I don't want to press F11 every time. When ever i open it should automatically go to full screen mode. How can i achieve it?

    You you can check this file to see if sizemode="fullscreen" appears under the browser.xul#main-window heading.
    If have this section when the normal dimensions are 1024x720.
    <pre><nowiki><RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
    height="720"

  • In imovie, how do I fit a photo inside the screen? Every time I try to zoom out it bounces back in!

    According to the help page, I remove the kens burn effect by matching the start and end frames. The problem is the photo remains zoomed in! And whenever I try to zoom out it just revert right back to where it was zoomed in. I've tried looking for settings or preferences and can't find any. Can anyone help me please?

    You can't avoid that if you use backspace or go back otherwise (toolbar Back button or via the right-click context menu). You will have to use the link or button on that page to go to the inbox.

  • How do I keep my browsing window the same size everytime I start Firefox and when I open in new tab

    I can't see the the words unless I hit control and plus to view bigger. I used to be able to have the bigger size every time I opened Fire Fox and would not change when I open in new tab, now I click control and plus to make bigger, I click open in new tab and it's small again, every time I open Fire Fox everything is small letters so I have to control and plus all the time.

    The size, in pixels, is staying the same. Most of the time, this is the way you should think of image size. Working in inches is only meaningful when you are about to print.
    In your example, if the piece you have added is too small, select it and use Transform to make it bigger. This is upsampling, so quality may be compromised.

  • How do I autofit the site for different screen sizes?

    I've built my site in iWeb.  But is there a way to have it autofit to the size of the screen it is being displayed on?  For example, I built it on my 24 inch 16x9 display at home.  I built it using dimesnions so that there are no scroll bars left or right.  I get a nice full page.  But, when I visit the page on a smaller 4x3 display for example, it doesnt shrink to the new size screen.  It just shows what it can then you have to scroll left/right to see the rest of the page.
    So is there a functionality in iWeb, or a work around, to have it adjust according to the size of the screen it's being viewd on?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    The "dynamics" for the textboxes are only vertical, not horizontal.
    To have everything move vertical and horizontal, you have to add width attributes to the text boxes. I tried it with a percentage. But did not like the result.
    The displayed text are separate textfiles that are loaded with AJAX.
    So once you have made the textboxes change their width with JavaScript, these text files fill the available space.
    You also have to make the width and height of pictures and movies dynamic.
    You can make it as complicated as you like.

  • How could i set a scene to the screen size right after the app running.

    I don't see relative settings either in constructor nor method of the Scen class. I guess there must be a method to realize this function.
    Is there any one who do this before?

    javafx.stage.Screen screen = Screen.getPrimary();
    javafx.geometry.Rectangle2D rectangle2D  = screen.getVisualBounds();
    Scene scene = new Scene(root, rectangle2D.getWidth(), rectangle2D.getHeight());

  • How to set width to be same as screen size?

    Dear all
    I want to set the width of my view elements to be same as that of screen size, so that if a user with low resolution monitor runs it, or if a user with high resolution monitor runs it, both see the same.
    I tried setting the width to 100%. But it is not working.
    My root container layout is Grid layout.
    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks in adv.

    Hi,
    For ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER set the stretchedHorizontally,stretchedVertically to true.
    And for the UI element set width as 100%, this will make the UI elem to expand to the complete screen.
    Best regards,
    Suresh

  • How to make a color bar expand to screen size?

    I'm building a website in adobe muse. I have a few color bars that I would like to reach the edge of the viewers screen (left and right) so that you can't see the edges of the bar. All of my content is centered, so it'd be ideal to accomplish this without causing the page to have a scroll bar(left and right)
    Thanks in advance,
    JON

    how do Iget the contact photo to full screen size when receiving a call after iOs 7.1 update..?

    I went to the link. I selected iPHONE.  There was a big iPhone icon above the comment box -- so I was absolutely, positively on the right page.  I spent five minutes or so crafting a constructive comment as to why I wanted the full photo feature back on incoming calls on iOS7.  Then...i noticed the box below the comment area asked 'What operating system are you on?'.  And the drop down selection list included every operating system since Job's garage days -- but not one single iOS entry.  No iOS entries on an iphone page.  Unless I'm missing something, I think anyone writing a feedback comment is wasting his/her time.

  • JavaFX 2.0 : How to make a stage fit into browser view area?

    Invoking a JavaFX 2.0 applet from browser results in white spaces on the right and bottom area of the browser. This happens when the JavaFX stage resolutions is lesser than that of browsing desktop resolution. In a client/server model, usually server components doesn't know about the client resolutions. So how to make a stage fit into browser view area?
    Also I think, setting the primary stage to full screen mode is not what I want to achieve, as this mode overlays the browser window.

    Try typing 100% into the width and height fields. Alternatively, you could use Javascript (no connection to Java in spite of the name) to create an event to resize the applet to the window's size.

    how to i fit a box to browser width?

    Hello,
    Are you talking about a rectangle. You can do it by using "100% width" button provided in muse.
    select the rectangle and click on 100% button this will fit the rectangle to the browser width.
    Please let me know if you are taking about something else.

  • How do you make html page resize to fit any browser

    Hi All,
    How do you make the html page resize to fit any browser/window both vert and horizontally.
    Thanks!
    Randy

    Horizontally by using percentage width instead of pixels.  This is called a liquid layout.
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/CSS2-Liquid-Page.shtml
    Vertical resizing is irrelevant in web design.  Page content determines page height.  The more content, the longer the page.  The less content, the shorter the page.  Scrollbars appear when needed.

  • How do I adjust my background image to fit my browser

    I have a background image that it 1600 x 1200 and when I try to view in browser, almost half the image gets cut off. How do I adjust the size to fit my browser or even adjust it to fit any browser?

    1600 x 1200 is a huge image by web standards.  Images don't resize to fill viewport without workarounds (tricks).  And while Martin's solution works in some browsers, it's not bulletproof.  Downsides may outweigh advantages.
    For best cross browser results (including older IE), establish a fixed page width of say 1000px to fit on average displays.  Center your page layout.
    Open your image in Photoshop or Fireworks and resize it  to 1000 x 750.   Your image won't fill the viewport but it will fit your page width.
