How do i get my old photo streame (ios 7.1.2) photos on my device after installing ios 8 on my iphone 5
hello everyone.. I am kiran from india.. I am using iphone 5, I am facing a problem that when I used ios 7.1.2 on my device my photos were stored on my icloud whenever I was connected via wifi connection and its pretty good experience and I was enjoying that I had stored almost more than 1000 photos and other notes ,etc....but after instalinf ios 8 on my device i cant find my old stored photos in icloud....please share your experience with me regarding this matter and plz do anything if you can....

As I mentioned, if they are still on your phone you will find them in the Photos section of the photos app. If you don't see them there, they may be gone. You can try turning my photo stream off and back on in Settings>iCloud>Photos, but you will only be able to access my photo stream photos from the last 30 days. Older my photo stream photos are no longer in iCloud.

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Without a backup, you will not be able to recover deleted contacts. You need to set up a separate iCloud account for your daughter, so you can keep your mail, contacts, calendars etc separate. -

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Try these steps first if the Photo Stream on your PC is not updating:
you can't connect to the Internet, iCloud Photos will not be able to send or receive updates to My Photo Stream. If necessary, troubleshoot your Internet connection on your PC, Mac, or iOS devices.
Open the iCloud Control Panel and make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, and click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Make sure that iCloud Photos or Photo Stream is turned on in the iCloud Control Panel. Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on.
Close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your devices until deleted. When you enabled photo stream on your 5s you would have only received photos from the last 30 days. If you want to stream the older photos to your 5s, create a shared stream that includes the photos and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). You can then either save them to the camera roll on your 5s and delete the shared stream or just leave things as they are.

It's version iPhoto '11. I sent the photos to the trash from in the resident iPhoto application, but not to the iPhoto trash, but the OS's trash in the bottom right task bar (Finder Trash).
Realizing what I had done, I dragged the picture folder back into the "Pictures" folder under my name in the Finder. I also dragged the iPhoto Library file back, but it said a new one had been created... I still attempted to replace the new with old iPhoto Library file.
The pictures are back and i can see the album names under events. The problem is that the album covers, nor the pictures themselves show up as thumbnails like they did before... they only show when you individually click on the photo to bring it into full view. I only see a grey background where the thumbnail was.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

How do I get my old pictures back? They were said to be backed up.
Recently, I synced my iPhone with my old laptop, which contained about 6000 pictures. A few days after that, I reformatted my computer which meant those picture files are only left on my iPhone.
Yesterday, i synced my iPhone with my new desktop (although I only wanted to sync my music), and ended up losing all 6000 pictures that I had. Before losing those pics and during the syncing, I saw that iTunes were backing up my files. Question is, how do I get my old pictures back? =( Please help me. =(Very sorry, but you cannot get them back from the phone or its backup. Photos synced from a computer _are not_ backed up as part of the iPhone backup process (only Camera Roll pics, those actually shot with the iPhone, are backed up). See this kbase article for info on what is and isn't backed up.
Hopefully, you have an existing backup of the pics on an external drive, etc., or some other way to get the pics back (originals on CDs, prints to scan, etc.). If the pics were still on the phone, 3rd party software could have been used to get them off (although at reduced quality, since pics synced to the phone are reduced to ~0.6 megapixel images). -
