How do i insert a picture into a table cell

hi
i am trying to insert a photo into a table cell in Pages of iPad.
how do i do that?
thanks

I have this question too. It is very important for me to insert pictures into tables in order to complete my lab reports. This feature needs to be added; the software is useless without it. It is things like this that make me regret Apple purchases.

    When I insert a picture, i either have the choice of cropping the picture or having black bars on the sides. How can I insert a picture into imovie and not be dictated based on the aspect ratio. thanks

    nope, never.
    look:
    example #1: a 1:1 pic in a 16:9 screen
    option A bars l/r
    option B cat-off
    example #2: a wiiiide screen pic in a 16:9 screen
    option A bars t/b
    option B catcut off
    and you don't want kitty look like that:
    (1:1 aspect ratio distorted to make fit onto a 16:9 screen)

  • How do you insert a picture into another picture?

    How do you insert a picture into another picture.  For example, one person is missing from family photo & I'd like to insert that person's face.

    By using an external editor:
    In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
    There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • How to paste tabbed data directly into FM7 table cells?

    <<<<on edit.... changed FM8 to FM7... I have FM7, not FM8>>>
    Hello
    I'm working on a documentation job that requires a pasting external data into existing table cells in FM7.
    I have tried several things but I can't find a way to paste the data directly into the table cells.  The source data can be delimited text, or spreadsheet cells. Neither can be pasted into an existing table.   The only way I can make this work is to first paste it into FM as text, then convert it to another table, and then copy/paste from that table into the existing one.  This is a lot of extra work and it seems there should be a way to paste external data directly across table cells.   I also tried "paste special" but that is not an option when I have table cells selected.
    Any ideas???
    It would be much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Gary Beckwith

    Gary, just had a thought -- I've worked on several projects where I used variables in tables that might work better for you.
    Basically the idea is to pre-populate the tables in your chapter with variables in the cells, and then import a minimalist MIF file that only contains the variable definitions for the pre-existing variables.  The minimalist MIF file can be made quite easily from a database or from an Excel CSV or TSV export by using various scripting utilities to convert comma-delimited text into the MIF syntax.
    I've created chapters that had hundreds of thousands of cells with variables in them, and updating the variables is incredibly quick.
    The best way to approach the variable naming is to come up with a convention that is easy to apply, I found .r1c1 etc to be a good starting point (the period so that the variables all sort in the same place in FM, the lower-case letters to make the variable's name as horizontally short as possible.

  • How can I insert a picture into a AbsoluteLayout ?

    Hi everybody.
    I am using a null layout and I don't know how to insert a picture.
    public static void addComponentsToPane(Container pane) {

           JButton b1 = new JButton("one");
           /* ... the rest of the elements...*/
          pane.add(b1);
         Insets insets = pane.getInsets();
         Dimension size;
         size = b1.getPreferredSize();
            b1.setBounds(250 + insets.left, 40 + insets.top,
                         size.width , size.height);
       /* and the rest of the program with createandshowgui and main */Can I do with a picture the same thing that I did with this button (setBounds etc?)
    If yes, how can I do that?

    Thanks for the answer but why you say no to use null layout?what is the disadvantage?The disadvantages are having an app that is completely inflexible and does not adapt well to different operating systems and desktops. Please read the Sun tutorial on using layout managers.
    And I tried using a JLabel and then make a new ImageIcon(the target of the picture) but I have an error when I add it to the pane with pane.add(picture); where the picture is the JFrame of the photo and pane is the name of the container.because you're doing this all wrong. You shouldn't add a JFrame to a container. Have you looked at the JLabel tutorial in the Sun tutorials as was suggested above?
    Can you write me the exact commands that I should use?No, but we all can guide you to do what you want to do, but first we need to know exactly what this is. So, what exactly are you trying to do here? Details are very important.

  • How can I Insert a BLOB into a Table from Java?

    I have a Java class that creates an xml file from data in a non-sql data source. After it successfully creates and saves the file it inserts a record into an Oracle table to log the fact that an xml file was created.
    Now the guy in the warehouse wants to get an email with the file attached. I have been looking into the apex_mail package, because we already have a procedure using htmldb_mail. However, that procedure is on our old server with HTMLDB 1.6 and it is not sending any attachments.
    I think I have most of the apex_mail worked out, but I'm stuck on the blob thing. This is what I have so far:
    * The Java program creates a String object called xmlDoc
    * After xmlDoc is fully constructed, the file is written to the (Linux) server. This is accomplished with the following:
    // writing the xmlDoc
    fileDest = "/home/ewh/XMLOUT/";
    fileName = "OrderEW_"\+orderNbr\+"_"\+ticketNbr\+".xml";
    FileWriter fstream = new FileWriter(fileDest+fileName);
    BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fstream);
    out.write(xmlDoc);
    out.close();
    * Next I insert a record into the log file with:
    // Add a record to the Oracle order_email table to let the mail process know that
    // a new xml file is ready to be e-mailed to operations.
    emailLogInsertQuery = " insert into ewh.order_email ( file_name, create_date ) ";
    emailLogInsertQuery += " values ('"\+fileName\+"', sysdate)";
    oraAction = oraStmt.executeUpdate( emailLogInsertQuery );
    All of this is working fine so far. Now, I have added a blob type field to the order_email table, but I have no idea what to stick in there so that I have everything that apex_mail.add_attachment needs.
    Here's a description of the order_email table:
    SQL> desc ewh.order_email;
    Name Type Nullable Default Comments
    FILE_NAME VARCHAR2(30) Y
    FILE_BLOB BLOB Y
    CREATE_DATE DATE Y
    SEND_DATE DATE Y
    Thanks ever so much,
    Gregory

    Hi,
    From within APEX one can enter blob data in database tables, view the data and also update the data. Also one can send a blob attachment in an email.
    May be you can follow a combination of the following OBEs to insert BLOB data and send BLOB data from APEX:

  • How do you insert new records into multiple tables using the same unique primary key?

    I’ve created a PHP site and MySQL server using a free app called XAMPP.  I have successfully created a form in Dreamweaver that will write data to a (name) table in the SQL database.  Here’s my question: How do you write to two (or more) tables in the same database and pass the same primary key to both tables?  In the SQL database, I defined the first field as ID and set it as the primary key with auto update.  So, when you insert a new record, it creates a unique primary key for that record.  In my form, I’m capturing info that needs to be stored to two tables at the same time; a Name table and Address table. Since the Name and Address tables use the ID field as the primary key, I believe I will need to pass the ID value from the Name table to the insert of the Address table to insure they both have the same primary key, right?

    No. You probably need the primary key from one table to be a foreign key in the other tables. In any case, I believe you can use two methods to obtain the auto generated key. First with SQL:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/getting-unique-id.html
    And the other using a PHP function:

  • Inserting multiple checkboxes into a table cell

    Hi all, new to Livecycle so I could use a little advice.
    I'm trying to insert multiple checkboxes into a single table cell, but as far as I can tell that seems impossible as one checkbox fills the entire cell. Now how do I go about splitting the table cell into 2 rows so that I can insert both of the checkboxes?
    I've also got to add a button to create new rows for the table on click so I don't know if that will factor into the answer.

  • How can I insert multiple pictures into a "diary" document?

    We started traveling in an RV.  I'm keeping several journals but want to put everything into one document.  I'd like to either insert a slide show at each location I write about, or just insert a number of pictures easily!  the first time I selected about 8 pictures and they just laid over each other.  I couldn't figure out if text in front, around, and they all come in the same size, too big.  I'm looking for an easy fix as I have 22 events to write up and insert pictures in.
    Are pages the best way to go?

    Hi billdeb411,
    Pages is certainly one way to go for creating documents such as you describe. You might want to look at this page for a better idea of its capabilities -
    Apple - Pages for Mac

    Another possibility, particularly if you are trying to create a physical book as your end product, would be to use iPhoto. See its product page here -
    Apple - iPhoto for Mac
    http://www.apple.com/mac/iphoto/
    With it you can create a photo book with your computer and have Apple print the book out for you

    Have fun creating your diary!

  • How do I insert  input data into anoracle table using C#

    Hi guys,
    I am new in the .NET arena and I am using Visual Studio 2005 Pro edition.. For instance I have 2 forms one being the main form which calls another to to insert captured text onto a form with the idea of passing it into the oracle database. I am failing to do that using C#. Where am I going wrong? Part of the code when I use actual values, data is written but when I want to write from input text from the form I get an Oracle message ORA-00936. A global connection is established in the first form.
    Here is the successful code:
    Try
    MyCmd.CommandText="insert into station (stn_abb,stn_no,stn_name)"+
    "values('MUT','0480','MUTARE')";
    Int rowsUpdated = MyCmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
    If (rowsUpdated == 0)
    MessageBox.Show("RECORD NOT WRITTEN");
    Else
    MessageBox.Show("RECORD WRITTEN TO TABLE");
    Txn.Commit();
    Here is the UNSUCCESSFUL code:
    Try
    MyCmd.CommandText = "insert into station (stn_abb,stn_no,stn_name)" +
    "values(@txtStnAbb.Text,@txtStnNo.Text,@txtName.Text)";
    Int rowsUpdated = MyCmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
    If (rowsUpdated == 0)
    MessageBox.Show("RECORD NOT WRITTEN");
    Else
    MessageBox.Show("RECORD WRITTEN TO TABLE");
    Txn.Commit();
    Regards,
    Ray.

    Hi,
    I assume that in the second example your intent is to use bind variables, but I dont see where you're actually binding any variables. Also, "@" is sqlserver syntax, Oracle's syntax is ":".
    Here's a complete example, hope it helps.
    Cheers
    Greg
    create table smallcol(col1 varchar2(5));
    using System;
    using System.Data;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Client;
    using Oracle.DataAccess.Types;
    public class odpparams
         public static void Main()
              OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection("user id=scott;password=tiger;data source=orcl");
              con.Open();
              OracleCommand cmd = new OracleCommand("insert into testtab values(:1)",con);
    cmd.Parameters.Add(new OracleParameter("1",OracleDbType.Varchar2,4,"fred",ParameterDirection.Input));
    cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
    Console.WriteLine("done, no errors");
    con.Dispose();
    }

  • How to insert an in-line image into a table cell using Pages on OS X?

    How can I insert an image into a table cell using Pages (OS X) without it becoming the cell background? I want it to be a regular in-line image, but can't figure out how to do this for the life of me. Thanks!

    Welcome to Discussions.
    To insert an image into a cell, select the cell, then go to the Graphics Inspector and from the Fill drop down choose Image Fill and then select then image you want. You can now select from a new drop down how you want the image to fit.

  • Insert  a  Picture Into a Panel....

    How can i insert a picture into a JPanel.
    Actually I want to show the picture only to the left hand side of the
    JFrame.
    Kindly help me.
    Thanx

    I would suggest to use a JLabel instead of JPanel.
    And then go ahead like described in the other tips.
    The JLabel can then be placed whereever you want inside your frame.
    Btw. if you just need something like a dialog - with a label to the left side, few buttons and some objects inside - I recommend to read the tutorials for JOptionPane - it is much easier to use this class instead of doing all the code on your own.

  • Insert multiple records into a table(Oracle 9i) from a single PHP statement

    How can I insert multiple records into a table(Oracle 9i) from a single PHP statement?
    From what all I've found, the statement below would work if I were using MySQL:
         insert into scen
         (indx,share,expire,pitch,curve,surface,call)
         values
         (81202, 28, 171, .27, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81204, 28, 501, .25, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81203, 17, 35, .222, 0, 0, 'C' ),
         (81202, 28, 171, .27, 2, 0, 'C' ),
         (81204, 28, 501, .20, 0, 1, 'C' ),
         (81203, 28, 135, .22, 1, 0, 'C' )
    The amount of records varies into the multiple-dozens. My aim is to utilize the power of Oracle while avoiding the i/o of dozens of single-record inserts.
    Thank you,
    Will

    You could look at the INSERT ALL statement found in the documentation here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_913a.htm#2133161
    My personal opinion is that you probably won't see any benefit because under the hood I think Oracle will still be doing single row inserts. I could be wrong though.
    The only way to confirm was if you did a test of multiple inserts vs an INSERT ALL, that is if the INSERT ALL met your requirements.
    HTH.
