How do I make a colored arrow?

I know how to make an arrow, but I'm not having much luck putting color into the arrow.
When I choose any colors in the color picker box then click OK, the color shows as dark gray, and not the color I've selected.
How do I get color?

Click on an arrow in the Shape box on the top.
Mode: Threshold
Opacity: 100%
I don't know what I did, but I opened another file and tried to get a colored arrow. Now I can get color in the Color Picker, but the color of the arrow shows up as gray when I drag the shape onto the picture, and not a red color that's in the foreground color box.
Does it make a difference if the files are jpeg or gif?
I just noticed that the arrow I was trying to color was on a gif file. I changed the gif into a jpeg and now I can make colored arrows.
On the jpeg, I made a red arrow (yay!) and it still has a 3D look, with a shadow underneath. How do I get the arrow to look more flat with no shadow. I did Layer > Flatten Image but that didn't take away the shadow.

How can I make a color box indicator transparent?
All, I would like to make a color box, which is part of a cluster in an array, transparent programmatically. Instead of appearing transparent, it shows up with a LARGE "T" inside the color box, with a white background. Because it is part of a cluster within an array, it will not work to use a property node... and because I would like to programmatically change the color, having it permanenty transparent (as proposed on another discussion topic) will also not work. Can someone please help me turn a color box transparent programmatically?

AnthonyThe problem is that arrays of clusters cannot be passed into property nodes as falkpl has previously said. The attached jpeg shows how you would programmatically break the arrays into cluster, into elements, and then manipulate that color box to a transparent one. The T within the white color box indicates transparent though. If you were to attached that to a color attribute then you would see that object disappear (well I guess not since it's transparent )

How do you make a color image black and white
I looked at the Adjust Image tool, but I could not see an easy way to make the color picture turn into black and white.
Yes I realize I could go back into iPhoto and do that. I don't want to do that.
In Word there is an image control that allows you to do various things with the image, including going to grayscale.Thanks Walt. That indeed was easy. I had tride saturation before, but didn't get all the way left, so it just looked washed out. I decided, wrongly it appears, that it would not do as I needed. Thank you. I just wish something like that could have been in the help file or PDF.
I think once I get the hang of the nuances, this program will really rock. Its just taking longer than I anticipated. I mean, it is an Apple program---so I was counting on a lot more intuitive steps. -

How Do I Make Text Colored in a JTextPane
I currently have a program that uses a JTextArea to display text that the user has typed into a Text Field. This is working and i now want to be able to make parts of this text different colors. I was looking in the tutorials and it looks like i need to use a JTextPane but i am not sure how to do this, does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

How do you make the color bleed over the margins for a cover
Hello,
We currently do our covers in InDesign but want to move them into our FrameMaker book file. There is a block of color at the top of the cover that we want to go to the edge of the cover. How do you set it up so that the color bleeds about 1/8" past the edge of the paper so that the printer can properly cut the cover without any white on the edges?
It's an 8-1/2 x 11 book, created with Frame 9 on a Windows XP Professional.

TimHow are you creating the PDF and which version (including point release) of FM are you using?
To create bleeds, you were on the right track positioning the graphic off the page by a negative amount. However, you don't increase the size of the page in your FM layout, you output to a larger sheet size (i.e. pick this in your AdobePDF printer setup or the Page Size in your SaveAsPDF options ). Unfortunately, you won't be able to preview this in FM. Look to your PDF to see what's going on. Note: SaveAsPDF *always* applies a crop value equal the FM defined page-size layout; in Acrobat for PDFs created via the SaveAsPDF route, you have to turn off the crop to see the entire media box with the bleed values.
If you're using FM10, make sure that you're patched to the latest 10.0.2p419 version. This is the only version that makes reasonable CMYK PDFs for print production, all prior FM10 & FM9 versions are quite buggy (for CMYK) and are not recommended for the CMYK route (you have to use the Convert CMYK to RGB option in this case and fix up in Acrobat or with third-party tools like the Enfocus PitStopPro plug-in for Acrobat). -

How can I make multi-colored links change their rollover or hover color?
I have made links with seperate colors using css, but the links with new colors have no hover property. I want these links to change color when the cursor hovers over them the same way the other links on my page do. I have tried making a new css rule for <hover> and tried writing the property into the css code but to no effect. I have searched the web and this forum for an answer and found notheing that works. Does anyone know how to give links with multiple colors a hover property that will make them change color? All of my other links change color as defined in the page properties, but the links with new color rules don't change color anymore. This is probably pretty basic. I'm new to DW, using CS6. If anyone can provide a step by step and show where the code should be inserted, this would be very helpful. Thank you in advance!

How do I make replace color work?
I load up an image wherein I want to change an area of #111518 to #151A1D.
I know how to set up foreground and background colors in the two overlapping squares in the line of tools.
I know how to choose adjustments and how to choose replacement color.
I know how to get the color picker.
I do not understand what "localized color clusters" mean.
I do not understand what "load" means.
I do not understand what "dropper+" and "dropper- mean".
I do not understand what "fuzziness" means.
I do not understand what "preview" means.
PLEASE HELP!Good day!
In my opinion ”Replace Color" is useless for professional work.
As for the terms you claim not to understand you might refer to the Help:
