How do I make comments on a pdf document that was sent to me?

I have windows XP and Reader 7.0.   Is there a way to enable "edit" so that I can make "comments" on a pdf. document that was sent to me?  withought spending $$$ for pro?

Thanks Sabian.  It took me a while to figure out that "close Acrobat Reader 7.0" actually meant "delete it".   After loading 10.1.2 I followed the instructions to send my pdf file and Internet Explorer decided to "quit" right in the middle of the process. ??  I'll try to use Chrome to see if that helps.

The question you asked is not about FormsCentral, so I suggest you to post a discussion in Acrobat forums to find the answer:http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat

How do i edit a PDF file that was sent to me in an email?

Depends on the extent of the edits. You will need Acrobat in any case. If the edits or minor, you can use the text edit tool. For major edits, you need to request the original file be sent or see if you can Save As a DOC or related file type. PDFs are not really structured for editing and you are asking for a lot of grief if you want to do much. Exporting is the best way, or even better simply asking the author for the original (non-PDF type).

  • I can not print a pdf file that was sent in an email.  I get the error message that adobe could not

I can not print a pdf file that was sent in an email.  I get an adobe error message that it can not print with an ok to check and when i do I get another adobe error message that says I did not select a page to print. I have downloaded the latest adobe download.  I forwarded the email to my husband and he printed the document just fine.

This first question which comes to mind is how do you display the pdf file in the browser?
For this the browser uses a plug in (e.g. adobe reader) which already has the ability to print the pdf file. Depending on the version of your plug in, printing is started differently.

Ps: which jdev version do you use?

Sent from where? By whom? It may not be a PDF at all, just a virus in disguise. That aside, we need some system info at least...

  • How do I make a correction to a document that has already been sent out for e-signature?

I thought I posted this question this morning but I don't see it in the forum so I'm posting again.  I apologize if it shows up twice.
For example, let's say I have a 40-page document that I need someone to sign. I spend 15 minutes to add all of the "initial here" and "sign here" fields to the Echosign document.
Then I send the document out for signature.
The recipient says, "It looks like you missed a spot where I was supposed to initial on the document."
It seems the only way I know how to fix this now is to:
    1. Void the current document
    2. Re-import the PDF from my computer into Echosign
    3. Spend another 15 minutes inserting all the "initial here" and "sign here" fields.
    4. Re-send out the document for him to sign
There must be a better way, right?  Docusign says they have the ability for the document sender to make a correction to an existing document and re-send it out, and there is also a capability for the signer to make corrections to the document (which would be initialed by any other signers later)
    Mike

Esign services don't allow for red-lining. The assumption is that final approved documents are used.
So indeed if you spot a mistake which means it voids the contract you indeed cancel the outstanding one and start over.
To avoid re-doing field do one of 2 things:
Upload the document as library template and enable form field layers.
Should you need to start over, upload the document again, but apply the previously created form field layer:
first under the dashboard use the add template to library
check the option for Create as reusable form field layer
upload a document and add fields as needed.
When you upoad the same or similar document, youcan apply the form field layer:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/reusable-form-field-layer.html
or markup the source document with text tags:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/adding-esign-services-agreement-fields.html
this means the form fields will already be part of the document prior to uploading to eSign services.

  • I need to add side comments on a word doc that was sent to me and send it back to the sender. I'm using pages.

I have been sent a word doc and I need to find errors and make comments and send it back to her. I want to add a side comment. I'm using pages and not sure how to do this?
    Help please?

    Well,
Comments will survive the export/import cycle to Word, just as Change Tracking will.

  • How does one make the xdp to pdf document editable?

I have a document process whereby the document renders, but the user cannot edit the document.
How do I change the xdp so that the rendered document will be editable by the end-user?
    Thanks!

Is the user trying to edit the document using Adobe Reader?
If yes, You need to reader extend the PDF in order to enable users to edit the PDF using Adobe Reader.
You can Reader extend PDF using Acrobat or LiveCycle server depending up on the volume or usage.

  • How can i make the size of my document that i created smaller so that i can email it easier

The 5 page document I created and need to send is 1.7MB.  I need it to be 250KB to send using the format requested.  All the info needs to be sent.  How can i shrink the data by such a large amount to enable the document to send?  I am on Windows 7 and using AcrobatXI

Depending on the content you may be asking for a lot. From within Acrobat the two options to do this are PDF Optimize or Reduce File Size. The location of these options vary among menus based on version. In some versions they are under the File>Save As options (AA XI). The PDF Optimize also has an audit that helps you determine the source of the bloat. If you used WORD to create the PDF, a first step in a smaller file size is to print to the Adobe PDF printer to avoid all the tagging and other markup. Of course, that is a compromise if you had wanted the bookmarks and all.

I think email attachments even pdf be sure who and expected it,, and they should be saved to a file.
