How do I put a permanent dollar value in a numeric field?

I'm setting up a simple order form in Adobe Livecycle Designer with UnitPrice, Qty and Total columns.
I need to have permanent dollar values show in the UnitPrice numeric field. When they enter a qty, it will be calculated by the unitprice and give a total. I have already figured out the other calculations, just can't work out how to put the dollar values in the unitprice field. They must be showing when the person opens the pdf file. Can someone pls help, I have looked thru all the posts and couldn't find an answer.
thanks in advance
KerryDun

I need the numeric field to show the actual price eg $3.50 and it needs to stay there, it's not editable. To get around this I have put a text field column next to the unitprice column, to show this value, but the filler will have to type the unitprice in again, in the unitprice column so it will make the calculation of unitprice x qty = total(when the price is already sitting there.)There must be a better way to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

  • What is the initial value for a numeric field ??

    Can someone tell me what the INITIAL VALUE FOR A NUMERIC FIELD is ?? Thank you
    Rod.

    Using the following...
       class MyClass
         int myvar1;  // Default initial value
         int myvar2 = 3;  // Default initial value and default value
         MyOtherClass myclass1; // Default initial value
         void doit()
           int mylocal1;  // No value
           MyOtherClass myclass2; // No value
    All number member variables, like myvar1 start off with andefault initial value which is zero. For booleans this is false. Object reference variables, like myclass1, have a null value.
    All local numeric variables are considered undefined. So mylocal1 and myclass2 are undefined. Before you can use them you must explicitly provide a value.
    Finally note that myvar2 will have two values during class instantiation. Initially it will have a value of zero. Sometime later it will have the value of 3. (When that happens is very definitely outside the scope of what this forum covers. If you want to know then ask in the advanced forum.)

  • HOW CAN I PUT A PERMANENT CAPTION ON A JPEG IMAGE?

    I have Elements 8 operating (successfully!) with Windows 7.  How can I put a caption on the Jpeg that will actually appear on the photo and will show on a print?  I would like the caption to run along the bottom of the image.  I believe that using the "Title" feature in Pre Elements will not imprint itself on the jpeg file image.  Am I right?

    Hi,
    Use the text tool.  Make a box in the approximate location you wnt the caption, choose a font and size, and type the caption into the box.  You can then use the move tool to fine-tune and adjust the location.  When satisfied, you can flatten and save the image.  Hope this helps.

  • How to use JavaScript to supply a value for a MessageTextInput field

    With the text attribute you can supply a deafult value for text field. Is it possible to supply this field with a default value determined by javascript ?
    <messageTextInput name="startDate" text="..." ...

    Marcel,
    If you want to dynamically set a value for a text field, there are two approaches you can use:
    1. use javascript (the browser language) and then for your <body> element's onload handler, invoke a javascript method that sets your form value.
    2. use java (the compiled language) and databind the "text" attribute of messageTextInput to a dataobject that gives the current date. If all you're looking to do is bind to the current date, I'd recommend this approach.
    Hope this helps,
    Ryan

  • Value Range for numeric field

    I'm fairly new to LiveCycle, I've used it to make forms for a bit, but am now hoping to make the forms much more advanced.  I'd like to know the best way to set a value range/parameter for a numeric field? I want the filler to be restricted to a range of $300 to $10,000 and if they try to enter below or above that value they would receive an error message.  I've looked at all the beginner material and am trying to get introduced to FormCalc and/or JavaScript but not fully comprehending the best/complete method (any guidance on where to start is also greatly appreciated).
    Thanks, Ed

    if (((300 < this.rawValue) && (this.rawValue < 10000)) || (this.rawValue == null)){
       true
    } else {
    this.rawValue = null;
    app.alert("Please enter a value between 300 and 10.000")
    I changed some things though... ^^
    If you want 300 / 10 000 to be true too then set <= instead of <.
    You can also change the app.alert message as you want.
    If you don't add the null in the beginning you might get an error message if it's on the validate event. If it's in the exit there shouldn't be a problem...
    Though this is just a little different from Paul's original solution.

  • Asign Numeric Field Value to Another Numeric Field

    I have 3 numeric fields on 3 different pages and I want to populate all 3 with the same value. If the value changes in 1 the other 2 should change. I've tried many variations, but I can't get it to work. Here is what I have right now. This is in the change event of "TopmostSubForm.Page1.SurveyNumber"
    TopmostSubForm.Page2.SurveyNumber2.rawValue = TopmostSubForm.Page1.SurveyNumber.rawValue;
    Any help is appriciated.
    Greg

    That is an interesting solution that I will use for next time - or I may use this idea now.
    In this case, the survey form is being emailed back and the XML data is already being stored in a database and then reported on. I would need to change all of the queries that produce the reports and change existing data. Not the end of the world.
    Even if I do go that route, it seems I should still be able to use the change event to populate the other field. What am I doing wrong?

  • Check box value assigned by Numeric Field rawValue

    This was asked and answered back in 2009 (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5944725#5944725), but I have a twist to the question:
    I'm able to get the action to work, but not right away. I had to click around on the form to make the check box tic. I assigned the following code to the JhammerPassed-named check box:
    if (JhammerSatTotal.rawValue <=80){
      JhammerPassed.rawValue =1;
    } else {
      JhammerPassed.rawValue =0;
    Essentially I have two boxes: one if they passed and one if they failed. So, if the value of the points awarded is greater than or equal to 80, then the 'passed' box tics. I added the less than version to the 'failed' box. They only seem to tic if I click on the JhammerSatTotal cell, then away, then back again. Is this just a quirk of the program or is there a way for it to be more responsive?
    Thanks!
    ~Laura

    I'm adding up 4 rows into JhammerSatTotal. The script I have in JhammerSatTotal is:
    Sum(form1.Page4.JhammerTest.Row1.JhammerSat1
    ,form1.Page4.JhammerTest.Row2.JhammerSat2,form1.Page4.JhammerTest.Row3.JhammerSat3,
    form1.Page4.JhammerTest.Row4.JhammerSat4)
    (I tried simpler code, but this was the only one that worked.) So, the 4 fields that the total field is adding up are: JhammerSat1, JhammerSat2, JhammerSat3, JhammerSat4. These 4 fields are user entered.
    Basically, my table looks as follows:
    Steps
    Points
    Sat
    Unsat
    Step 1
    10
    Step 2
    40
    Step 3
    10
    Step 4
    40
    Total:
    100
    Then, there are two check boxes under the table: Passed and Failed. The user enters points into the Sat and Unsat rows while the total row is added up. If the total in the Sat column is <= 80, the Passed box should be checked. And the Failed box if it's >80.
    Would this make a difference with your suggestion above?

  • Using formcalc i would like to pass a numeric value to a numeric field when a radio button = YES

    clck here for no example http://webgis.co.okaloosa.fl.us/website/okaloosagis/gm/no.bmp
    I have tried both below and keep getting errors on the =
    if (xfa.resolveNode ("qfax.#field")  = "YES") then this.rawValue = 10
    if (xfa.resolveNode ("qfax.#field")  === "YES") then this.rawValue = 10
    if (xfa.resolveNode ("qfax.#field") .rawValue = "YES") then this.rawValue = 10
    if (xfa.resolveNode ("qfax.#field") .rawValue === "YES") then this.rawValue = 10
    thanks
    mike

    was able to figure it out by using JAVA
    if  (xfa.resolveNode("qfax.#field").rawValue == "YES")
    this.rawValue = 10
    else
    this.rawValue = 0

  • How do I input a specific color value for a shape?

    I've been trying to figure out why I cannot input a specific color that I want for a shape. I'm not just choosing a color that looks nice, I'm trying to match it to a solid color in the next clip. Ive tried to use the eye dropper to get the color from the next clip but I cannot copy anything outside of the color pallete provided. I know the value of the color (from 0-255 it's R:191, G:211, B:217) but all FCPX has is 0 - 1, which is some other kind of color value system I've never seen before. Does anyone know how I can put that specific color value into the shape generator?

    Click the color swatch to open the Apple color picker. This is common to all Mac apps.
    Click the second tab for color sliders. Change the popup to RGB.

  • How to pass selection screen value to LDB dynamic field.

    Hello everybody,
    In my program, I am using standard LDB(PSJ) for getting data. And there is a requirement that I have to display some dynamic fields on my selection screen like plant , person responsible ( which are mandatory also ) etc. and inside the program I have to fill those dynamic fields for which the user has entered the value in selection screen.
    Could you please tell me how to pass some of selection screen values to ldb dynamic fields before GET statement.

    You can capture the values selected through the dynamic selections using some of the functions modules below, just search the forum for the below FM's, perhaps you can find some sample code

  • How do I add auto text based on value in numeric field?

    Need help... I'm trying to add auto text to a text field based on a value in a numeric field. I want my text field (summary box) to say "Passed" if the value (score box) is equal to 10 and the field to say "Not Passed" if the value is equal to less than 10. My numeric field is being calculated by selecting drop-down lists.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Ed Watson
    Here's a link to the document I created...
    https://files.acrobat.com/?trackingid=KGLIT#folder/c3106c32-2e69-4a5f-8ef2-94d25623dbfb

    I think I figured it out.  I used the following script:
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==1){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==2){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==3){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==4){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==5){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==6){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==7){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==8){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==9){TextField1.rawValue = "Did Not Pass"}
    if(NumericField1.rawValue ==10){TextField1.rawValue = "Passed"}
    There's probably a cleaner way to do the same thing but at least this works for now.  Hope this helps someone else.

  • How can I programatically use the forced values to put a value into numeric data member?

    I am extremely new at using Lookout and need a way to programmatically force a value into a numeric data member so that I can later use that value as a flag when creating a report.

    Hi,
    You can do this with an Expression similar to the following:
    Object.datamember = if(Pb1, Pot1, Object.datamember)
    Where Object.datamember is the datamember of the Object you want to write to.
    Pb1, is a PushButton -- it can be any logical condition.
    Pot1, is a Pot -- it can be any other source for your numeric data.
    The IF statement basically says, "if Pushbutton Pb1 is pressed, write the current value of Pot1 to the Object's datamember. And if it's not pressed, leave its value as-is."
    Hope this helps.

  • How to assign and display an attribute value from backing bean?

    Hello all,
    I am using Jdev 11g. I have a form page which has two inputText attributes The first one implements a valueChangeListener feature. When the user enters a value in the first field, a backing bean function will be invoked through the valueChangeListener . In this backing bean function, based on the value in the first field, I want to assign the value to the second field and display it on the page. Can somebody help me how to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
    Here is small example.
    Create two string variables in your backing bean and generate accessors for them.
        private String text;
        private String text1;
        public void setText(String text) {
            this.text = text;
        public String getText() {
            return text;
        public void setText1(String text1) {
            this.text1 = text1;
        public String getText1() {
            return text1;
        }Bind this variables to the value property of the input texts you have. Add the valuechangedlistener for the first input text (and also set autosubmit to true for that item). Also, add the id of the first input text as partial triggers for the second input text. Like,
            <af:inputText label="Label 1"
                          binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_untitled1.it1}"
                          id="it1"
                          valueChangeListener="#{backingBeanScope.backing_untitled1.textValueChanged}" autoSubmit="true"
                          value="#{backingBeanScope.backing_untitled1.text}"/>
            <af:inputText label="Label 2"
                          binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_untitled1.it2}"
                          id="it2"
                          value="#{backingBeanScope.backing_untitled1.text1}"
                          partialTriggers="it1"/>Finally, put the logic on your value changed listener. Like,
        public void textValueChanged(ValueChangeEvent vce){
            this.setText1("Hi " + vce.getNewValue());
        }Now, when you run the page and enter your name in the first input text, the second input text will display Hi <your_name>
    HTH.
