How do I reduce the amount of emails that load onto my iPad?

I have 3 email accounts that bring in 9999 email messages each, I have one account that brings in 5000 emails. Whenever I delete emails it pulls in older ones.
My iPad is full.
I want to change the settings to bring in only 1000 per account.
I remember selecting the maximum emails when I set up the iPad but now I can't figure out how to change it back... Help!

This did not help!
I went to setting, mail, and there is no option for how many emails will load.
Please help!,,

How can I get the 23 July update to load onto my iPad. I haven't been able to access my documents or work for weeks and need to use it. Has anyone else had similar problems?

    Hello Arthur,
    Thank you for the reply.
You were correct that deleting the app and reinstalling it was the only thing to make it work but unfortunately I lost all the documents I made, even though they were backed up to iCloud before i deleted the app. At the same time as deleting pages I had to delete keynote and numbers too, so I've lost all the documents in them too.
The mb of data which was assigned to each programme in iCloud has reduced, so. I guess they are gone for good. Is there any other way to reaccess them?
Not your fault but I am a bit fed up the the iPad. I have lost work that I've done and have no other copy apart from what was in iCloud, as I don't have a printer and couldn't email them too myself as I couldn't get into the programme and  i've also got episodes of tv series I purchased that I can't download and albums that are half downloaded with songs missing, so I feel a bit swindled out of time and money and am going back to DVD ,  pen and paper and CDs .
Instead of using iCloud I guess the only way to make sure I don't loose any more documents it to email them to myself each time I save them on the iPad. Is there anything else you could suggest please?
I don't have any other apple products apart from iPods, so I can't access the iCloud on anything else can I?
    Thanks
    Amanda

I've just bought a new macbook pro with Retina display & running Yosemite. I have the 128Gb version.
Initially I downloaded all my music into iTunes, but after seeing that it took up almost 40Gb of the 128Gb I decided to delete it from the Macbook. But now I find that I have 40Gb of "Other" in it's place. Does anyone know what "Other" is and how I can reduce it's bulk? (Image attached)

  • How do I reduce the amount of Gbs that my music takes up

I have roughly 2400 songs and it's taking 16 Gbs which I cannot load onto my iPhone any way I can reduce the file size without re-importing the songs?

There is also the option to convert files as they are copied to the device to make them take up less room, which leaves you the better quality originals in your library.

so the category the is yellow and is labelled as other, is taking up a lot of my data, i read online that it helps to delete all the browse history etc. which i did but it did virtually nothing. It is taking up 2.70gb and i dont have enough room to download all the music that i have seletcted which is 493 song which is said to be 3.07gb, my phone has a capacity of "16gb" which is really 13.50gb and i just want to get rid of the "other" because it is silliness.

It is quite common for the program size listings to be wrong. To check the actual size of the Firefox installation, you can manually check the size of the Firefox [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory installation directory]. It is is typically around 26-30Mb, and the default location on 32 bit Windows is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
There are also a couple of other locations where Firefox stores data, check the size of the following folders as well.
Firefox also stores user data such as bookmarks and passwords in the [[profiles|profile folder]]. It should be inside this folder C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
Firefox stores temporary files in the cache. To find the location of the cache, type '''about:cache''' into the location bar. It should be inside this folder C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
The last 2 folders are normally hidden, you may need to set Vista to [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial130.html show hidden files and folders].

how do i limit the amount of emails shown on my i phone. on my i pad there is an option to show last 100 emails, 200 emails ect. i dont see that option on my i phone.

    Protech,
These phones aren't magic... you only have a finite amount of storage, so you should have considered the size of your mailbox before purchasing the lower capacity iPhone. Can't get mad at Apple or the design for that...
Note, it is a bad practice to run a business from the iPhone, so why do you have a pressing need to search for information in old emails?
You're treating it like a database and it's not designed for that. Email is for communication and information transmission.
For context, would you keep every single paper letter and sticky note you've used/received for your business?
And then search through those files all the time when you needed information about a client or part design?
That is what you're doing in a virtual sense...
Time for you to look into databases (contacts, notes, Filemaker, etc.) are ways to store and retrieve information without taking up tons of space (like email)
    Who is your email provider?
Have you considered using their version of the mail app if they have one? (works like webmail but through their app instead)
You should also consider the databases/archives below and moving the emails/content/information into it.

How do I limit the number of emails that show in my active mailbox?  There was a way in Settings on ios 6, but i can't find it in ios 7.

You need to delete your current hotmail account set up on your iphone.
Once this has done click 'Add Account' and select the new 'outlook.com' tab.
Set up your hotmail account again from scratch and this will then allow you to select how many weeks/months of emails you sync to your phone.
Im not sure if anyone else had a similar problem to me prior to iOS 7, but if i deleted an email from my hotmail account on my iphone - it wouldnt sync with my actual hotmail account. So when i logged in online all the emails I had deleted on my phone would still be showing as unread.
But by setting the account up as above, they now sync perfectly.
    Well for me anyway
