You would do that in your network router. Consult your router's user manual for instructions. If you use an Airport Extreme Base Station, then do it via Airport Utility. Select the router, click Edit. Click on the Network tab. You will see this part:

No, you can't do it that way.<br />
You could create a set of files user.js and use a bat or cmd file to copy the file with the proxy setting that you want to use to user.js and then start Firefox.

Hi I want to access a free radio station in the usa but they can see that my ip address is in britain and will not allow me to use it. I tried using a programme called Tor using safari and then set it up using firefox and for some reason even though I followed the instructions correctly (configured the settings in apple proxy preferences) they are still recognising my british ip address. Does anybody out there know of a simple, reliable method by which I can be seen to have a us ip address? HELP I AM GOING CRAZY!

How do I set up a proxy server for webmail services to assist in migrating from NMS 4.15p6 on NT to iMS 5.1 on HP-UX.

I want to have minimal if no downtime at all when moving the message store. iPlanet support hinted at an "unsupported" proxy server solution, and would give no further information. I am running the MMP with 5.1 and that supports IMAP and POP migration, but I need support for webmail services as well to complete the migration from NT to UNIX with minimal distruption of thousands of users. I am using the MoveUser utility to move the message store in hopes that will clear up some store corruption we have been seeing.

To get this in a 'supported' fashion you might want to wait until the iMS 5.2 release. iPlanet has said this release would include a webmail proxy/mmp server to do exactly what you desire.
A proxy server would not be a solution to your problem as it would have to have access and knowledge to the users mailhost attribute to determine to which host to route the webmail connection. The webmail proxy/mmp will have this functionality.
You might want to contact your iPlanet rep about this product and maybe you could get a copy of it as part of a beta program. I know iPlanet is always looking for oppourtunities for feedback like this.

I have an iPhone 4S, which has been upgraded to iOS 7.1. I'm on a pay-as-you-go carrier (Red Pocket Mobile) and have configured my iPhone for all other data situations with one exception: I cannot send Multimedia messages to people without iPhones.
Everywhere I look they say "Oh just edit your MMS Proxy settings" and then to do all this:
Enter the main menu.
Select "Settings".
Select "Cellular" and "Cellular Data Network".
Scroll to "MMS".
Scroll to and select "APN" and enter att.mvno.
Scroll to and select "MMSC" and enterhttp://mmsc.cingular.com.
Scroll to and select "MMS Proxy".
Enter 66.209.11.33 :80.
Press "Cellular" to complete.
Press the "Home" button to return to the main menu.
Your phone has been configured.

The problem with the above, and everwhere else you see it, is that they obviously are not familar with iOS 7.1. You cannot access your "Cellular Data Network" from "Cellular" nor can you edit any of the cellular settings or MMS settings as far as I can tell, or see. Can anyone help me with this? It's important for my work, and for my personal life.

I am using HttpURLConnection to establish a HTTP connection . The connection pass through a proxy, and it requires security.
I know that I can set the proxy settings in the system properties, and this works perfect.
But I don't want to set the proxy settings in the system properties, because this proxy settings will be for ALL the URLs, and I just want for a few URLs.
How could I set the proxy settings for just some URLs and not for all?

EOIO for sync proxy needs to set in sender system. The sender system should trigger the second message once it receiver the response of first message. There is no additional configuration required in sap pi.

How can I stop Firefox from switching to proxy setting from no proxy

I have a Fios connection so the proxy setting is "no proxy" . Every time I close Firefox, it switches to the proxy setting button and highlights a proxy. It has just started doing this about 5 days ago after 3 years on this computer. It doesn't do it on my laptop. Each time I check the "no proxy" button to connect, but the next time I open Firefox, it's back to proxy.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How can I set #HOST# variable referenced in the Chart template?

#HOST# and #HOST_PROTOCOL# are being set incorrectly by APEX from CGI variables when I create a chart. I am using APEX 4.1 and Oracle 11g. The get the continual "Loading data..." and then after it times out I get "Error loading file".
Before we changed to a secure http environment, our charts worked. After we changed to the new web layer, the charts do not work. The #HOST# substitution was set to http://correctservername/ and #HOST_PROTOCOL# was set to http. We set PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList REQUEST_PROTOCOL=https in the dads configuration file and now the #HOST# displays https but it also includes the default port number which we do not want (https://correctservername:port/) The charts work without the port. REQUEST_PROTOCOL is not in the cgi list and setting this variable set #HOST_PROTOCOL#. What variable can we set to make #HOST# correct. It seems like #HOST# is being set by #REQUEST_PROTOCOL#'://'||HTTP_HOST||':'||SERVER_PORT||SCRIPT_NAME||'/'. SERVER_NAME could also be used in of HTTP_HOST. I don't know how APEX is setting #HOST#. Does it come from a host alias somewhere in the environment?
I don't want to add a new cgi variable called HOST because HOST sounds so generic and it might interfere with something else running in our environment. Or, I don't want to change the plsql cgi environment variable (such as HTTP_HOST) because many developers may use owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_HOST') to get the current server. If the SERVER_PORT is part of the #HOST# then what could I change it to if it needs to be null. If you leave it blank, then the default SERVER_PORT comes from the CGI variables.
I would rather not create a global variable (hard-coding) and create a new chart template using the global variable or create a before header application process to re-direct url without a port.

changing the CGI environment variables HTTP_HOST, REQUEST_PROTOCOL and SERVER_PORT is the correct way how to resolve this, because it appears that your hiding the web server where you have installed mod_plsql or EPG by a different outside facing web server (also called reverse proxy). That's why APEX gets the host name, protocol and port of the internal web server, but should actually get the values of your reverse proxy web server. Can can fix that by changing the following CGI environment variables.
HTTP_HOST should just contain the domain name (no protocol or port). For example: www.oracle.com
REQUEST_PROTOCOL should contain http or https
SERVER_PORT should be the port for https

Setting up of Proxy & Reverse Proxy

I read some pdf files available in SDN for setting up of proxy and reverse proxy. I installed Apache 2.0.54, as per the apache documentation I enabled proxy and it is working fine (forward proxy)

(Page 9 of the doc refers to 2.0.31 & above)
Instead of /b2b/ I kept /irj/portal
And Sec 5.(URL Rewriting) is totally confusing. I couldn't able to find AddModule, so I added the line 'AddModule mod_proxy.c' and 'AddModule mod_rewrite.c' in httpd.conf. And I don't know where to add 'RewriteEngine On'...
After making the above changes, my apache is not starting.
Please let me know how to configure proxy/reverse proxy. If you have a screen shot please send it to hpriyag @ yahoo (dot) com.
We are using NW'04 on win2003 server and planning to use Apache. We are ok with IIS too.

I have a code which
1. First it binds to LDAP server through a proxy user.
2. Authenticates a user
3. Gathers all the roles that a user is a member of.
It uses ,collectiveParentRDN as a DN attribute.
For e,g,in following line from the code:
userDN = attrs.get("collectiveParentRDN").get().toString();
But Im getting userDN as null as there is no attribute called collectiveParentRDN in the LDAP schema Im using.
However when I use entryDN instead, it works.
But I need to use collectiveParentRDN . and I'm not able to configure this attribute in the
When I try to add this attribute I get a constraint /schema violation error.
Can anyone please tell me how to add /set this attribute to DSEE6.3.1 LDAP server.?

You are right, that attribute is not in the schema.
I think perhaps that could be the reason I'm getting an schema violation error when I'm trying to add it.
Can you please tell me how do I add any new attribute to the schema ?

Help setting up a proxy for usenet (nntp) and Tor

I am trying to set up a newsreader (Thoth) to connect to a newsserver using tor (http://www.torproject.org/). The manual for tor (http://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-osx.html.en) shows how to do this for Safari, but not for a socks connection. Or is it as easy as setting the socks proxy to 127.0.0.1 and using port 8118.
