How do I sign an Abode document with a secure environment?

How do I sign an Abode document with a secure environment?

If this is related to Adobe Fill & Sign (since you did submit this feedback through the Feedback form) this is an FAQ on security: https://www.acrobat.com/en_us/security.html
I am not sure if that really is what you wanted, if that doesn't answer please provide more details.
Thanks,
Josh

  • How do I create a PDF document with multiple different page sizes?

I scan tif images and can have a single document with Letter, Legal, Tabloid, and even full map plan sizes (36" X 24") all in one document.  I get the document all set, then do a: File, Print, choose Adobe PDF (running Acrobat XI Pro), but it converts all the pages in my tif file to a single size.
I've found where to set the size, but the problem is I have many different sizes.  Is there a way to have the Adobe PDF printer, just use the original documents page sizes for each page when converting?

The program I use to create the TIF files (OpenText's eDOCS Imaging) does not make PDFs, it makes TIFs (and TIFFs).  To then convert this, if I try to do it through Adobe directly, I get an error which prompts me to open it in the native program and to choose print and then select the adobe printer.
This works perfect if every page is the same size, but many times my documents have many different page sizes  as well as portrait and landscape within the same document (but that is a separate option).
Doesn't Adobe have a "use the original page size / orientation" as an option when creating PDFs from existing documents?

    I don't think so.
Try typing the HTML code at the bottom of the message (where you want your signature to be) and sending it to yourself.Try this and see if the HTML code works correctly.

  • How can I Remove Firefox Hello in a high-security environment?

    Hi,
After a recent Firefox update in a test environment for a high-security environment (I'm not at liberty to disclose the nature of this environment, sorry. Let's just say we have to disable Firefox from contacting Mozilla's servers and further disable Google's "Safe Browsing" due to possibility of inadvertent unauthorized disclosure) We have noticed a feature: "Firefox Hello", this feature causes Firefox to violate strict policy as it transforms it from being classified as strictly a "Web Browser" (which is permitted) to a "Chat Application", all of which are completely banned. Simply disabling Hello is not a sufficient option as Firefox still contains the code to run Hello, which still constitutes it a "Chat Application" as per policy. We have the capability to edit out unauthorized code from open source software internally, but we don't know where to start to remove this code from the Firefox codebase as Hello seems pretty well integrated.
Currently I only have two options, both of which do not please me as for me personally, (I really like Firefox and have fought to include it in any environment I can):
    1. Discontinue permanent use of Firefox.
    2. Discontinue updating Firefox permanently or until Hello is removed as a non-modular element. This is unacceptable as it'd mean we can't keep it secure, which causes us to fall back to (1).
I would graciously like any third option. Internet Explorer seems to be the only browser that provides sufficient enterprise-level control without extraneous features at the moment with the addition of Hello to Firefox. We have banned Chrome from our environment due to how tightly bound it is with Google's "Cloud" services and hope that Firefox isn't becoming a "Cloud" browser for Mozilla, Sync has already placed Firefox under the microscope as it is.
    Thank you.

We have WebRTC traffic blocked (We have a setup that audits SSL traffic before it leaves or enters the network).
Our primary issue with Hello is that policy classifies the actual code used to run it as being very much like an Easter Egg, code that was inserted that goes beyond the spec of being a web browser and thus difficult to audit. It's easy to block services in general, but when an a single unauthorized service becomes a core feature and has code strapped to the browser, that throws up red flags that Mozilla is moving Firefox away from being a organization-managable browser and more toward an exclusively mozilla-managed "Cloud" browser, where there is a possibility that Mozilla will seek more control over user experience that will increase attack surface.
It's reasons like this we decline to install Chrome into our environment, because Google has several services built-in to the core of their browser and do not leverage their extensions capabilities, but rather mandates that these features "must be installed" and that users can only toggle them off.
It's easy to uninstall an extension or to recompile with a flag, but it's hard when a vendor makes decisions for you and tells you "This is good for you, you must embrace it" irrespective of policy of organizations or even individual users wishes.
Thank you all for this information, it will help our future audits and help determine if Firefox is right for our needs.
Unfortunately I can't mark this thread as "Solved" since the root issue is still not solved (Mozilla's development practices making something that should be an extension, a core aspect of the browser), so marking it solved would be a lie. But thank you both nonetheless.

  • How to digitally sign a scanned document

We have copiers and a large format scanner that can create PDF files. We would like to be able to affix digital signatures to these documents. The application is that we create plan sets for public construction projects and those are 'stamped' with a seal. We would like to start doing that electronically if possible. We have Adobe Acrobat Pro verson 8.

If you really want a digital signature, you can easily add one in Acrobat. I don't have Acrobat 8 to tell you exactly how you'd do it, but the Acrobat help doc should have more information. In Acrobat 9, you do it by selecting: Advanced > Sign & Certify > Place Signature
or: File > Save as Certified Document
You will first have to set up a digital identity. In Acrobat 9 you do this by selecting: Advanced > Security Settings > Digital IDs > Add ID
You can create digital signature appearances that get used with a digital signature. To configure one, select (again, Acrobat 9): Edit > Preferences > Security > Digital Signatures > Appearance > New (or Edit)
If you don't need all that a digital signature provides, you can use a stamp, perhaps a dynamic one, to add your seal. You can then flatten the page to convert the stamp annotation to regular page contents, preventing a user from altering it.

  • How can I sign an app made with PhoneGap Build?

    HI,
I have set up the PhoneGap Build service and created an account so I can make an app and upload it to my mobile phone.
Now I have reached the point where I would like to sign it and upload it to Google Play.
I have a developer account and I have filled in all data, made screenshots and icons and description for the app etc.
When I try to upload it to Google play it says "Upload failed..." and that I need to disable debugging.
I have tried to find information about how to do this and I have installed the SDK packet and even successfully set up the path in the Settings for PhoneGap Build without any protests..
    Now what?
I have read trhe documentation on how to make a private key with keytool using the cmd in windows an the key has been uploaded to my account on the phonegap build site.
Now according to the doc in phonegap build this key should be used signing the app that I made in dreamweaver. So I recreated the app in Dreamweaver and downloaded it and then tried to upload it on Google Play.
Still the same problem that the app is in debug mode. This means that phone gap build is not doing it's job as it should or maybe that my key is not working.
So my question first is, how can I see if the key is properly generated with keytool?
My next step is to manually sign the app.apk file with the jarsigner tool so I tried to do this accordingly to the sample in the android documentation.
This a screenshot of my attempt and the error-message in the command line:
It feels like I have done everything by the book but still my app is not signed and not valid to upload to Google Play for public download.
Please give me some assistance in how to create this last little but so hard step.
    Thanks!
    Micke

    I got it solved...
If anyone else has done the same mistake as I did then have a look here.
You just have to create the key with keytool using the command line (cmd.exe)
Here is the guide how to do it (scroll down to "1. Obtain a suitable private key")
Use the example, it works fine.
Then upload it to your PhoneGap Build account by logging in to build.phonegap.com
Then under your account settings upload the yourkey.keystore file and unlock it.
Then under Apps click your uploaded App title to come into the details of the app.
Then (and this is what I missed and therefore didn't get it signed and released) choose the key you uploaded from the fold down menu at the right hanbd of the android logo
Then click Rebuild and when it's done rebuilding you simply download it and it will have a YourApp-release added to the file name and you're set!
Pheeeww this was a horrifying experience and yet so simple solution... strange noone else has experienced this before me.
At the end I have to really salute Dreamweaver who has made such a great tool to easily make your own apps.

  • How do I open OS 9 documents with OS 10.4.11

I need to know how to open documents created with OS 9 using 10.4.11
My hard drive has been replaced and I no longer have OS 9 on my system, plus, I don't have an old OS 9 install disc. I've got a ton of important documents I thought I'd open and try to convert to something that could be shared using Pages. But, no such luck.
I'm fairly sure these documents were created using OS 9. The icons show a diagonal pencil with an upper case A in the top left half, a bar graph in the lower right half of a page with the upper right corner turned down. (I'm sure you're probably familiar with the icon, if you're old enough to remember the 90's)
I just got Open Office for Word but haven't installed it yet. Does Open Office (or someone else) have a download that will let me open old Apple docs?
Is there a simple solution to my problem? HELP - I don't have hard copies!!

About the only way you can open documents created in applications
under OS 9.x would be to have access to the applications, and likely
have those running under an OS 9 system or through OS X 10.x as
a Classic system while not independently bootable from OS X.
Since you do not necessarily need to have an OS 9.2.2 full installer
or restore installation to get an OS 9.2.2 system (and apps folder)
into your PPC G5 computer, you do need a way to load it into the
computer. This can be drag and drop; since it will not be starting
the computer. A copy of another similar computer's OS 9.2.2
system folder and the OS9 applications folder should be the easy
street to getting something into your G5.
(Unless you have the original restore/install disc set for that G5,
    however, or something almost identical in vintage and version;
actually running an installer to put an OS 9.2.2 system in there
    would be most unlikely.)
A copy on to an external HDD (firewire) could be used as a
Classic volume, it could be used by the OS X system to
open some older documents. But I suspect you'd need to
have Apple Works 6.2 or so, for the document to be read.
That application was included for use in both OS 9.2.2
and OS X 10.x There may be a chance you could open
an AppleWorks document in OS X (with AW) by checking
the document's preference (get info) panel to see if it says
open as classic, and has a checkbox; or not.
There is alot going on in a computer and to not have the
original software installed or only part of it, makes some
simple things difficult. My iMac G4 1.25GHz 17" machine
has an OS 9 system folder and apps folder; I don't use it,
but since it takes up almost no room on the 80GB HDD,
to remove it makes virtually no sense; as nothing is gained.
My iMac G4 has AppleWorks (in OS X) and also, it can see
and open AW documents -- some AW documents, depending
on how they were created, in AppleWorks w/o OS 9. But this
is no necessarily a standard thing; it may not work at all in
your computer. Classic (an OS 9.2 system folder) is a require-
ment for pre-X applications to open, and a suitable application
has to be there to run. The OS 9.2 system need not boot the Mac.
There may be some other workaround; short of utilizing a second
Mac with either a Classic - OS 9.2.2 system intact, or a more
traditional dual-boot OS 9.2.2 and OS 10.x computer; and then
save the file in a different manner, or export it via FireWire, CD
or ? to the other Macintosh. Sometimes, a text document can
be copy/pasted into an email or saved as a pdf and sent to
another computer, and used that way. However, not being able
to open the document without a translator, it may be a problem.
If you can find an application that can see, open and translate
an OS 9 created document in some application such as A.W.
then you may be able to use the contents.
(If you have AppleWorks in your G5 now, see if you can choose
to have AW open this doc file; out of curiosity. It may translate.
I've forgotten alot about these kinds of things, and no longer use
OS 9.2.2 since I sold my last dual booting computers years ago.)
    Good luck in this matter!

  • How can I create a "master" document with multiple variations?

I designed a map that will be posted at a few dozen junctions with a "you are here" symbol.  Every one will be identical with the exception of this symbol.  I don't know if there is any way to do this while preserving a "master" map that can be edited all at once.  For example, I may need to change the location of the paths and it would be a real time saver if I didn't have to edit 20+ files (each with an arrow in a different spot but otherwise the same) separately.  Also, I will be sending the file over email to a professional printer, so I am very uncertain about what would be a standard way to format something like this and really wouldn't want to clog their email.
I haven't been able to figure out an easy way to do this.  I'm wondering if it involves using multiple artboards, a feature that I'm not very familiar with, or if the easiest way is to have a layer for each symbol location and just save twenty files (whew) and send them to the printer as separate documents - which seems super clumsy.
I have tried copying the artboard multiple times.  This was my best attempt at editing all at once: I created whatever I needed on one artboard, then dragged it to the symbols panel, then cut, then went to edit > paste on all artboards.  However, this doesn't allow me to simply fiddle with a path or object that already exists and I can't figure out how I would delete the same object from all artboards.
If anyone has some thoughts, I'm pretty novice, so please keep it in simple terms. Also, I am in a bit of a time crunch, so speedy answers are much appreciated!  Thank you!

Alright, that makes sense.  And yep...I've never worked with a professional printer so I wasn't sure if it is standard to have something that will require that much involvement in the set-up on their part, but I guess it's preferable to sending a bunch of separate documents.  Thanks so much for your help, Larry!

  • How can I save a pages document with a new name

I often make changes to pages and numbers documents and save them with a new name. This seems to be impossible under LION. To remove the save as command is very shortsited. The only way I found to get around that is to save the changed document as a templete, remove the changes I made to the original document, Open a new document using the templete I just created, saving that document under the name I would have created using the save as command if it was still there, and then delete the templete. How in the **** is this better? Lion has disrupted almost everything I used to do in Snow Leopard.
The only thing that syncs with mobile me is email. Everything else quit working. I reported the mobile me issue to Apple and am waiting for them to contact me.

I think the issue is easy:
1.- Try to go to the File Menu
2.- Then hold down the Option Key
3.- You will see in the File Menu (while you press the option key) the "save as" option.
4.- Choose the "save as" option.
5.- Choose the file where you want to save your document (you can choose any folder or sub foler in your mac or even iCloud). If you want to, you can even rename the open document where you are working in.
    I hope this would help

That is wrong, (unless you have Mountain Lion), the correct answer is above, posted by deggie

This may be a simple question, but I need to put hand written signatures into word documents.  I'm using a HP Slate with Windows 7 Pro.  The writing capture tool turns it into text.  Is there a way to leave it as a hand written signature.  I'm using either MS Office XP or 2007.

    Hello gljordan,
You should post your question here at  HP Business Enterprise Forum as well. That forum is specific to your product and you may find better assistance there.
