How do I tell Adobe they've invoiced me for a product I don't want to buy?

I thought I was download the free Adobe Reader for Mac and have ended up with an email in my inbox telling me to pay for it. It says if I open the Reader I will see an invoice. But when I try, nothing happens.
Of course you can't reply to email address Adobe used to contact me. I want the thing off my computer but if I just drag it into the trash, I want to be sure my details will also be removed from Adobe's files.

Hopefully by just not paying the invoice I can't see (!) this will just go away. But why do they make it so difficult to contact them? And whatever happened to the free Reader?

This is a typical spam subject line; it does not come from Adobe, but from software pirates.
Do not download stuff from software pirates, as the stuff is
illegal
possibly malware infected
plus they will steal and sell your credit card information
Only download software from the original developers / manufacturers!

Upon looking up your account I see you did indeed subscribe to ExportPDF which is $20 per year. The subscription allows the user to convert PDF's into word or excel. It will not create PDF's.

I'm running Adobe CC on a 2010 iMac (OS X Yosemite). I'm delighted with it, however ...
Several family members share the same iMac using separate user accounts. Adobe CC seems to run on startup for all of them which is annoying for them as they get messages about updates etc, plus it takes up unnecessary system resources (particularly as we tend to use 'switch user' and Activity Monitor shows an instance of Adobe CC running for each user).
It's not listed in the Login Items list under System Preferences->Users & Groups, so I can't disable it there for other users, However it appears as an icon in the menu bar for any/all users a few moments after logging in - so something is triggering it to run, but I can't see what.
How can I restrict Adobe CC to run just for my user account please?

The startup item is likely inside the /Library/LaunchAgents folder.
It will be something named like com.adobe.creativecloud.plist.
Move it out of the /Library/LaunchAgents folder into the User/Library/LaunchAgents folder for all the users that need it.
I don't know if it will work, but as long as Adobe wrote the launch agent correctly, it will work. Given that it is Adobe we're talking about, my bet is no.

Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook. Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

Ask your local library if they offer electronic books for checkout and if so what system they use. Then you can look to see if there is an app for that system available for iOS devices. As RG said, neither Apple nor Amazon offer electronic books on a rental basis other than Amazon's Kindle textbook rental.

Most pages have layouts for pictures only or pictures with text boxes. Either select the same layout for that page but the one without the text box or put a space in the text box.
Putting a space in the text box will avoid getting the warning when ordering that there's an unfilled text box in the book. The box will not be visible in the final product. You can and should check the book before ordering by previewing it as described in this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it

Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with?

Your question(s) is/are a little hard to understand. So your husband has an iPod as well as a netbook and he wants to be able to sync iPod with this netbook is that correct? If so, he'll need to first download and install iTunes assuming the netbook is running some version of Windows such as 7, Vista, or XP.

As for importing or ripping music, he'll have to either use an external CD/DVD drive that is attached via USB or rip the songs to another PC you have with a built in CD/DVD drive. Once you have imported them to the other computer, you can transfer the songs to an external hard drive or to his iTunes library via Home Sharing.
