How do i throw BPEL exception from java embedded activity
Hello everybody,
i want to use some embedded java code in my BPEL process (bpelx:exec). This code would sometimes throw exceptions. How can i deal with these exceptions to control my BPEL process? I would like, in a sense, to do some catching of java exceptions but at the BPEL level... for example, my java code would throw an exception, that my BPEL process would "catch" and react the way i want. Is it possible to do that?

Getting error while calling external Jars in BPEL by using Java embedding activity in soa 12c

I am trying to use an external Jars for the business logic implementation. Here I need to pass XML as input and
and I expect the "Password " field has to be return.
Following are the steps I have followed:
1) Created a java project with sample class and added the external jars into the project "Libraries &Classpath".
2) Created a jar file out of it.
3) Created a BPEL project with Java Embedding.
4)Wrote the java code in java embedding activity.
4) Added the above created jar file to the BPEL project's lib/jar and added in SCA-INF/lib project folder as well.
5) Imported the package with the class as in the jar (e.g <bpelx:exec
import="pkg.testInterface"/>)
6) Deploy the BPEL project.
while deploying the SOA build is sucessful but my depoyment is incomplete.

Can you confirm if the BPEL Version is 1.1 or 2.0.
If you are using BPEL 2.0 you need to import the required jar/class file as:
<import importtype="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java" location="pkg.testInterface"/>
For BPEL 1.1 the syntax to import other jar/class file is:
<bpelx:exec import="pkg.testInterface"/>
If you import the classes in the correct format you will not face any deployment error. -

Eric, when I select the BPEL wsdl file in "Create Web Service Data Control" wizard, immediately I am getting the error. When I click 'OK', the 'Service' dropdown is disabled and blank in the wizard.
Thanks for pointing to the sample application URL. But it is built in jdev 10g. Can I migrate it to 11g?

How to display a BPEL variable using Java Embedding
Hi, hope someone can help, I'm sure this is something very simple but for the life of me can't seem to find it through the tutorials including the Dev guide.

How can I display user defined and BPEL variables in the process activity "Java Embedding" ?
ex: System.out.println(bpws:getVariableData("myDatabaseParameterVariable")
This example doesn't work but this is basically what I am trying to achieve.
I would appreciate any help with this.

myDatabaseArg is a simple parameter defined in the database adapter configuration wizard which is used as a criteria to retrieve data.
Just before I invoke the Read I use the Java Embedding to display the content of the parameter. -

So any exception in them, i wud like to be propagated to BPEL. The Exception is thrown to the java embedding activity but i am not able to throw it to BPEL after that. I have to catch and handle it there itself, else the BPEL gives a compilation error.
Can anybody please gimme a sol for this problem

I´ve a workspace where I have all the deployed bpel processes, and I´ve other workspace with a Struts project. I deployed my Struts project in the OC4J Server where the BPEL processes are deployed.
I´m trying to initialise Locator instance in a .java file. The Locator will search the bpel processes in the default domain. I get an exception when I run the project, dont know what I´m doing wrong. (can´t copy the exception from the Embedded OC4J Server)

The only difference that I see in your code and mine is, that I haven't specified the "orabpelPlatform" and "dedicatedRMIContext" properties. Also, another diferenece is the ProviderURL used. I have copied the settings as found under "samples/tutorial/102.InvokeProcess/rmi/Context.Properties".
While setting the properties use -
Context.INITIAL_FACTORY
Context.PROVIDER_URL
Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL
Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS
instead of specifying java.naming.xxxxxx class names.
Please check the file to see what are the Context properties set during installation for your BPEL PM. Use the same to define Properties to be passed as parameter in the Locator constructor.
