  • AP to GL Transfer: How to have a custom Journal Header name in GL.

    Hi,
    Does any one know how to have a custom Journal Header name while transferring the Journals from AP to GL?
    Assume that I am transferring the Journals which belongs to a Single Invoice from AP to GL. When these Journals are transferred from AP to GL, Oracle will create a Journal Header with the default naming convention. The Oracle generated Header name will be as shown below.
    *123456 Purchase Invoices USD*. Where 123456 is AE_HEADER_ID and USD is the Invoice Currency code.
    Our requirement is, we want the Journal Header name something like *"Hello World"+TIMESTAMP*, where TIMESTAMP is the date when the user has ran the AP to GL transfer program.
    I know that when building the AAD(Application Accounting Definition) we can define the Journal Header descriptions and Journal Lines descriptions. But, I did not see any setup option to have the custom Journal Header name in GL.
    Any suggestions on this issue are highly appreciated.
    Advanced Thanks,
    Lokesh.

    Hi Lokesh,
    The best way to have a custom journal header name is using hook package.
    When data move from XLA to GL, every time it creates a new dynamic table as GL_INTERFACE table but the name is different (XLA_GLT_XXXXX).
    This table information stores in 'gl_interface_control' table but after use the record has deleted from 'gl_interface_control'.
    So we can't see table information after finishing create accounting program.
    What the modification you will made in this table it will affect GL base table. So to made custom journal header name, we need to change Reference4 column of dynamic table.
    Here is the code to get the table name and through procedure you can update the Reference4 column.
    FUNCTION pre_module_hook(run_id IN NUMBER,
                   errbuf IN OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2) RETURN BOOLEAN IS
    chr_errbuf varchar2(50);
    chr_retcode varchar2(50);
    l_interface_Table_name varchar2(2000);
    BEGIN
         SELECT interface_table_name
    into l_interface_Table_name
    FROM gl_interface_control
    WHERE interface_run_id = run_id;
         BEGIN
    xxdb_gl_icaccntgdist_pkg.gl_int_jrnl_update (chr_errbuf,chr_retcode,l_interface_Table_name);
    RETURN(TRUE);
         END;
    END pre_module_hook;
    Make these changes in GL_IMPORT_HOOK_PKG.pre_module_hook function.
    You can make the changes through calling procedure using dynamic query under the function pre_module_hook.
    Thanks,

    Our company has users on both Acrobat X and XI.  We have custom stamps in X that the XI users need to use. How do we transfer the stamps to use in the newer version?

    You just copy the stamp files from one machine and place them in the correct directory on the other. You can find the location of both the user and app stamp directories by running the following code in the interactive JavaScript console:
    app.getPath("user", "stamps");
    app.getPath("app", "stamps");
    Select both lines and press Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or cmd+enter (Mac). Here's what I get with this using Acrobat 11 on a Mac:
    user folder: /Macintosh HD/Users/georgejohnson/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/11.0/Stamps/
    app folder: /Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Built-in/Comments.acroplugin/Stamps/
    The stamp files (PDFs) might have cryptic looking names, but you can safely open each to see what stamps they contain.

    Hi,
    SAP reference:
    *Transporting Roles :*
    You can use the BW Transport Connection to transport roles that are delivered with SAP Business Content and customer-own roles.
    Roles that are delivered within SAP Business Content are found in the namespace SAP_BW_. If you want to modify the delivered roles, you first need to copy them to namespace SAP_BWC_ in the Business Content function area of the Administrator Workbench
    Procedure:
    1.      Gather together the roles that you want to transport, as you would for a standard transport.
    2.      Select the roles, and choose  Transport Objects. The Prompt for Transport Requests dialog box appears.
    3.      Write the objects to an existing transport request or create a new transport request. Choose  Continue.

    Hi,
    The system cannot capture the customizing data from your ECC6. This is another myth with SAP Solution Manager. Solution Manager can only smoothen the process of your Project Management.

  • How can i transfer the entire itunes program (not the library,but the actual program itself) from one cpu to another? I have the older version that has the slide feature. I can't stand the new itunes.

    HOW CAN I TRANSFER THE ITUNES PROGRAM ( NOT THE LIBRARIES,BUT THE ACTUALLY EXE PROGRAM ) FROM ONE CPU TO ANOTHER. I CAN'T
    STAND THE NEW ITUNES. I WANT TO TRANSFER MY OLD ONE THAT STILL HAS THE SLIDER FEATURE. THANKS

    Sounds like you've already installed iTunes 11 and are now trying to downgrade. To do so successfully you will also need access to a pre-upgrade copy of your library as set out below...
    The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
    In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
    ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
    CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
    CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
    CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
    Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
    Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
    If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
    With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs & List views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
    If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

    Music transferred from your iTunes library to your iPhone is transferred to the iPod on your iPhone only.

  • How Do I Transfer My Phone # To My New Phone?

    I would really appreciate any feedback, as soon as posible!
    Here's the gist:
    My old phone is crap, so I ordered a new one online. The new one is the EXACT same phone as my old one. Model, Verizon powered, etc
    How do I transfer my phone number to this new 1? Does it transfer automatically when I activate it? I was told to call *228 or something on the new phone, but I dont see how that will transfer my number.
    Thank you in advance you guys!

    Yes, dialing *228 on the new phone (make sure the old one is OFF) and choosing option1 will begin the process. You will be asked to input the # you are calling about (that tells Verizon what number you want to use on the new phone), and the billing passcode (to be sure you are authorized on the account) and if all is in order, you'll listen to some weird music while the phone is programmed to the number you input.
    If there is an issue you will be instructed to call customer service.

  • I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer.  How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer?

    I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer.  (My new compute runs Windows 8.1) How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer?  Is this possible or do I have to use the procedure of copying the catalog along with the photos to a back up hard drive and then restore them on the new computer?

    The 'normal' procedure is to do a PSE organizer backup (not a copy or a backup from external tools) to an external drive, then a restore to the new location.
    The advantage is that you have a backup of both catalog and media files and you don't have all disconnected files, which would happen with external backup tools. Also, if you restore with a more recent elements version, the catalog will be automatically updated to the new format.
    The drawback in your situation is that you'll have either to overwrite all your files or restore to a custom location, creating a duplicate photo library (which supposes you have enough free space).
    It would be possible to simply use the organizer in the old PC to move the catalog to a new 'custom' folder just under your C: root drive. The catalog would be accessible once the drive will be installed in the new PC. Then you would have all files 'disconnected' due to the fact that all your media files are now on a drive with a different letter. Reconnecting a whole library is a hard job with PSE6, less so with PSE11/PSE12.
    If the idea of fiddling with the sqlite database with external sqlite manager tools is ok for you, I can describe the process more in detail. You only copy your catalog folder (as suggested above) to another location. Instead of trying the 'reconnection' way, you install the sqlite utility on the new computer. When the old drive is installed in the new computer, you simply edit a given record in the catalog database, catalog.psedb, and start the organizer with your copied catalog by simply double clicking the 'catalog.psedb' file.
    Even if the last solution is much, much quicker, I would still create a new PSE backup : you have never too much safety .

  • Disappearing custom snippets

    Last week I painstakingly recreated in DW CS5, Mac, the custom Snippets folders I'd used in DW CS4, Win -- since I hadn't found a quick way (there should have been one) to export my existing CS4 Windows Snippets and import the resulting file into my new Mac DW CS5 installation.
    I later restarted the Mac for a software update. When I launched DW again and went to look for my Snippets folder in its usual place, grouped with Files and Assets, it was missing. I re-launched it from Window > Snippets -- and discovered that all my carefully built custom Snippets were gone. Only the stock off-the-rack DW Snippets folders were present.
    I checked the Forums, learned where the custom Snippets were supposed to be (in<user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5/en_US/Configuration/Snippets ) and took a look. Nothing. Not even a Snippets folder in that location.
    What the heck happened, and how can I avoid an unpleasant and highly inconvenient data/work-loss situation like this again??
    BTW, I still have access to my Windows DW CS4 Snippets. If there is something I missed about a global export function for custom snippets, I'd sure like to know about it. The procedure ought to be as easy as exporting Site Definitions. (Or easier, really; the one-at-a-time Site Defs export arrangement isn't exactly a winner in terms of user convenience.)
    Thanks.

    Yes a bit of a kludge and it would be nice if Adobe made it easier to export such settings...
    Snippets are stored in files with a .csn filename extension. However, if you open a .csn file in a text editor, you'll see that it's simply an XML file. Normally, just copying the files is the simplest way to handle the migration of snippets.
    However, there is an official way to migrate snippets, which is to package them as an extension. It's not particularly difficult to do. It involves creating an XML file (with an .mxi filename extension) containing details of the snippets. The Extension Manager does the rest. I've done it several times to package snippets for distribution with the files accompanying some of my books.
    There's a template for the XML file at the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS5\Samples\Dreamweaver\DreamweaverBlank.mxi (it's in a similar location in the Applications folder on a Mac).
    The following example shows how I packaged the snippets for my Dreamweaver CS4 book:
    <macromedia-extension
        name="Essential Guide to DW CS4 Snippets"
        version="0.9.3"

            <file name="Write_to_file.csn" destination="$dreamweaver/configuration/Snippets/PHP-DWCS4" />
        </files>
        <!-- Describe the changes to the configuration -->
        <configuration-changes>
        </configuration-changes>
    </macromedia-extension>
    Basically, you fill in the name, version number, and type of extension. Because I was packaging several snippets, I used "suite" as the type. For a single snippet, the correct value is "codesnippet".
    Filling in the author name, description, and access tags is optional. The important section is the files tag, which contains a separate file tag for each snippet. The name attribute is the name of the .csn file for the snippet. The destination always begins with $dreamweaver/configuration/ followed by the name of the folder(s) where the files are to be installed. In the case of snippets, you should use Snippets followed by the name of any subfolder you want to store them in. The destination folders don't need to exist. The Extension Manager creates them automatically.
    For convenience, I copy the .csn files to the same folder as my .mxi file. Otherwise the name attribute for each .csn file needs to include the path to the file's current location.
    Launch the Extension Manager, select File > Package MXP Extension, and then navigate to the .mxi file. Give the extension a name using the filename extension .mxp, and click Open (it's probably Choose on a Mac). The Extension Manager generates the .mxp file, which can be used to install the snippets on any other machine, regardless of operating system.
    As I say, it's not difficult, but it's not as simple as just copying and pasting snippets, which is why the official way of moving them isn't widely known.

    how do i transfer a symbol library from .ai cs3 to cs6

    You could just copy the ai file to the new folder. All custom symbol libraries are just ai files.
    But since CS3 9-slice guides were introduced, so you might want to check your symbols first (if the guides might be applied or if they are correctly not applied - whatever is appropriate)
