How do I turn off the feature in iTunes that automatically starts up iTunes when I press the mic button on my headphones?
Okay, so I guess the mic button in my headphones is broken and so it acts like I have pressed it even though I have not. So everytime I have my head phones plugged in itunes shows up and everytime I try close out or pause iTunes, it just starts right back up again and I have to do this constantly. My temporary solution was to just turn my iTunes volume all the way down but it still pops up with notifications that says a song is playing. It is gettin annoying because I cannot watch Netflix or anything else without getting itunes pop ups. I was just wondering if there was any way to disable the feature?
The mic button is probably sending a signal (or command) that works like a keyboard shortcut to open the app.
System Preferences>Keyboard - under the Shortcuts tab, clear ANY iTunes shortcuts that appear in the list.

How do I turn off the feature that allows the duplication of App downloads to more than one phone? As in my wife downloads an app and I get a dulpicate download on my phone.
To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes. The is no way to prevent someone for setting a screen-lock passocde on an iPod.
To turn of an existing screen-lock passcode go to Settings>General>Passcode-lock and turn it off. yo have to enter the passcode to turn it off. -
How do I turn off the auto lock feature. I have only timed options. There is not the "never" option available.
I've got options for 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes and Never. Have you got an Exchange email account on your iPad ? 'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible. If you remove the account the Never option will probably reappear

Every cut I make in the sequence window leaves one remaining frame from its deleted neighbor clip. How do I turn off this feature - It is driving me mad.
Here are 3 pictures detailing what I'm experiencing.
Picture 1; clip 1 tail frame.
Picture 2; clip 2 head frame.
Picture 3; clip 2 head frame is now tail frame of clip 1.
does this help describe what is happening? Basically every cut I make
leaves an unwanted frame as a ghost of the missing cut.

I like the additional security features but don 't want to type in a password every time I use my phone. How can I turn off the requirement for a password but leave "Find my Phone" active?
Settings>General>Passcode Lock...enter your passcode, then: Turn Passcode Off.

With the position of the power button on the Retina MacBooks, any mistake turns off the screen in the middle of a presentation or any activity using a projector or big screen — a huge waste of time to wake up the display, enter password, have the projector sync back, watch audience disconnecting from what was being discussed, etc.
This is very annoying, and seems to add to the increasing collection of options Apple decided to make by itself instead of allowing the user to choose.
Come on Apple guys, I'm using my Mac because I want options and lots of preferences to tweak to my needs.
If I needed the lobotomized version I'd be using my iPad!
Any way (official or hack) to change this button back to its proper funcionality?

Not what you want, but you can get the shut down / restart / sleep dialog by holding the power button -
