How do you change a button's depth?

I have several buttons that reveal large blocks of text on
rollover. I would like the current button being rolled over to be
the topmost button so the text block isn't obscured by other
buttons. getDepth() shows me the button's depth, however
swapDepth() appears to only work with movie clips. Is there a way
to dynamically change a button's depth?

It is because for some silly reason the Flash builders forgot
to give the Button class the swapDepths() method. Of course most
folks don't actually use actual buttons, but instead use movieclips
with mouse events. But if you must....
Button.prototype.swapDepths=MovieClip.prototype.swapDepths
Put that on the first frame of code you have, you only need
it once in a swf. It assigns the MovieClip class's swapDepths
method to Buttons (which in some convoluted way are just a special
kind of movieclip).
I've used it before and tested it quite a bit, and never had
any problems. But that doesn't mean that it won't break something
behind the scenes. So use it at your own risk.
The only other solution is to wrap the buttons in movie clips
and then swap the movies.

  • How do you change the opacity of a button when it is rolled over?

    I have the button created i am not trying to change the background or anything. I wanted to know how do you change the opacity for the over state of a button? by the default i have it set to 70% opacity i want to change the over state to 100%

    You'll need to leave the overall opacity of the button symbol at 100%, then modify the opacity of each state (up, over, down, etc.) individually. The individual states cannot override a symbol setting. For instance, if your symbol was set to 50% opacity, setting the over state to 100% would only give you 100% of 50% opacity.
    Make sense?

  • How do you change the ont size

    How do you change the font size for one word ?

    Basically, you need to wrap the word in a <span> tag, and apply either a class or an inline style to the span. Using a class is better because you can reuse it in other pages, or other parts of the same page. Also, changing the font size in the class will apply the changes to all instances of the class. With an inline style, you have to change each one individually.
    To wrap a word in a <span> tag, select the word, then press Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on a Mac) to bring up the Wrap Tag dialog. Type "sp" (without the quotes), and press Enter twice. Then create a class using the CSS Designer. Apply the class to the word by selecting it again, and select the class from the Class drop-down menu in the Property inspector.
    To create an inline style, select the word, and click the CSS button on the left of the Property inspector. Select the font size you want from the Size drop-down menu. If the size you want isn't listed, just type the value in the Size field.

  • How do you change the mail the icon that appears in the top right the header on sent messages or drafts?

    Hello,
    When you go to the Drafts or Sent box and select a message, above where the message is displayed is the header where the reciever/sender information is. To the right is an icon(right next to the button that says "hide").  How do you change that icon?
    Much thanks,

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your email, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • How do you highlight iHelp Buttons and List Applet fields

    How do you highlight iHelp Buttons and List Applet fields? I've followed all the steps in the Bookshelf but it seems like buttons and list applet fields do not highlight. The highlight feature only seems to work in form applets. Is this a known issue? Are there workarounds for this?
    Thanks

    I remember that colors of single list applet fields cannot be changed, since the whole list is regarded as one "control" itself. It works for single fields in form applets (as you said) but not in list applets. There is a document in MyOracleSupport pointing this out, but at the moment I can't find it.
    Regarding iHelp Buttons I have no idea.

  • How do you change the position of email sender so that it's on the left (sender[from], subject and date received)

    How do you change the position of email sender so that it's on the left (sender[from], subject and date received)

    In the Thread Pane where your messages are listed?
    You see that bar with the labels "From", "Subject", "Date" and so on? Well, they are buttons. You can click on them to sort your messages. You can also drag them with the mouse left and right to reposition them, and you can drag their ends to change the column widths.
    These are standard computer actions; you can do all of this in Windows Explorer ("My Computer") too.
    In Thunderbird, a right-click on any of these buttons will reveal a pop-up menu where you can select and deselect the columns to control what is shown.

  • How do you change image size in the title window?

    I just changed operating systems to Windows 7, which meant that I had to re install Premiere Pro CS4. I am now working on a 64 bit system. Might not make any difference, but thought I would give you the specifics just in case.  When I pull up the title window to add a title to my clip, the image is about the size of a postage stamp. How do I increase the size of the image in that window?

    Thank you again for responding Hunt. I did find out what what was happening.
    I had to reinstall the program on my computer. I just upgraded to Windows 7, and I now have a 64 bit system. When I booted up PPCS4, I assumed that my settings would be the same as they were before when I had Vista installed and didn't bother to check them when I started a new project. Well, they were not. I also added a TV tuner card to my computer. I now can watch HD TV on my computer. I suppose that it is possible that somehow PPCS4 noticed that, and set my default settings to HD, rather than NTSC DV. I just merrily went along clicking the OK button and started editing. When I start a new project now, I select NTSC DV and the Title window works just fine, and exactly the way I expect it to.
    I just received Jeff Bellune's book Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 in the mail and will be totally immersed in Encore studies today. With all of his children, I don't see how he had time to write it, but I'm glad that he did. I also ordered a book entitled Designing Menus with Encore DVD. I know that it was written for an earlier version than CS4, but I will trust what you said about that. Many things are the same with some minor variations due to upgrades in the program. The basic ideas don't change, but how you accomplish them can, and usually do over time.

    Subject: how do you change image size in the title window?
    Welcome to the forum.
    That is an odd one. The Title should be the same Frame Size as your Project/Sequence. What is it's Frame Size? Also, are you perhaps doing a Title based on an older Template, that was done for a different Frame Size?
    What happens if you choose Title>New Title>Default Still?
    Good luck,

  • How do you change the variable screen on Portal to show Key?

    Hi All,
    I have a report on our Portal.  In the variable screen, the users are asked to optionally enter Cost Centre.  When they choose to select values (pressing the button on the right) the singles values which are shown are 'Text' only.  I know in analyser, the user can switch by selecting the spanner icon - 'Display Key/Text'
    How do you change to Key within the variable screen on the portal?
    Many Thanks
    Michelle

    Thank you for your reply Amrita,
    The display in the query had been set to Text & Key as follows
    Properties of Cost Centre -> Display Tab -> Value Display Section -> Display As 'Text and Key', Text View 'Standard' and Use Characteristic Setting 'Unticked'
    Is there another section that I should be amending to ensure the 'Key' also appears in the variable screen?
    Many Thanks,
    Michelle

  • How do you change the click box properties (line colour and width) in Captivate 7.0?

    How do you change the click box properties (line colour and width) in Captivate 7.0?

    Yes certainly, we can do that, insert a smart shape and use it as a button, then go to the properties pane, change the Alpha to 0, that will make it transparent, and add the stroke color as red and increase the width.
    In case of a button, you have to select button type as transparent and do the same.
    Thanks.

  • How do you change the alarm volume, how do you change the alarm volume

    How do you change the alarm volume on a iPhone 5C?

    You can change it in Settings > Sounds > Ringer and Alerts (or with the buttons on the side of the phone if you have "Change with Buttons" turned on in that same section of Settings > Sounds).
    Note that this change is not specific to the Alarm -- it will change the volume of incoming calls and other alerts as well as the alarm.
    I have found it works better for me to set the sound at the volume I want it to be for incoming calls and then to find an Alarm sound that works best with that volume level. Without changing the volume, some Alarm sounds seem louder or quieter (or at least more or less irritating). You select the sound when setting the alarm and the sound selected will then be the default on future alarms.

  • How would you change the state to the base state?

    How would you change the state to the base state? Its not
    letting me do something like:
    currentState='<Base State>';

    Sorry about the vagueness of that last reply :)
    What I have done now in my code is this:
    viewstack1.addChildAt(loginCanvas,0);
    toggle.selectedIndex = 0;
    However nothing happens at this line of code:
    toggle.selectedIndex = 0;
    but this works:
    toggle.selectedIndex = 1; or ...
    toggle.selectedIndex = 2;
    toggle.selectedIndex = 3;
    toggle.selectedIndex = 4;
    toggle.selectedIndex = 5;
    toggle.selectedIndex = 6;
    The strange thing is that if I have a button on the screen:
    <mx:Button x="10" y="3" label="Button"
    click="toggle.selectedIndex =0"/>
    and the user clicks it the toggle.selectedIndex = 0; works.
    I'm stumped, any ideas?
