How do you find what bin your clips are in??

I was wondering if there is a way to tell where a clip in the timeline came from. Sometimes a project will have footage from other projects and bins. I would like to find out what bin a specific clip is in from the timeline. Thanks alot!

Stringray has got your answer (Reveal Master Clip aka Shift-F) but, just to save you some pain, if the clip in question is from another project, that function will fail.
One of the limitations of FCP is that it does not track that master/affiliate clip information across projects. If you drag a clip from another project - even if it's open in FCP currently - it becomes a master clip in the timeline (and project) you've dragged it to. (Normally, a clip dropped into a timeline is an affiliate clip, with the master clip residing in the Browser.)
This is also a limitation of XML interchange - it typically breaks the master/affiliate relationship.

How can you tell what generation your Apple TV is and what the version IOS it is running? Thanks for any help!

In the link provided, there is a section which tells which model you have; e.g.
    Apple TV (3rd generation)
    Year introduced: Early 2012
    Color: Black
    Model number on bottom:
A1427 for Apple TV (3rd generation)
A1469 for Apple TV (3rd generation) Rev A
The A1427 or A1469 is printed on the bottom of the apple tv with very fine print, i had to use a flashlight to see my model number.

  • How do you know what generation your iPod touch is?

I have just bought an iPod Touch - my first iPod of any type.  How do you know what generation it is? There is nothing on the packaging and the only clue in the 'About' screen appeared to be the version 4.3.3.  I am trying to purchase a universal dock adapter and need to know the generation in order to get the right one.

    beats me.

  • How can you find out if your computer has been hacked

For some reason, I couldn't find any information on how I can tell if someone has hacked into my computer or not.
    I have an iMac:
      Model Name:    iMac
      Model Identifier:    iMac8,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2.66 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    6 MB
      Memory:    2 GB
      Bus Speed:    1.07 GHz
I was trying to save something on the computer and noticed that a co-worker's name was under the SHARED section in one of mu folders. He was in my computer! How can I find that information? His name was actually listed so I know he was on there. I even texted him then he stopped.
I have Verizon DSL and and older version of Norton Firewall (4).
He's my subordinate and we don't usually have problems. What do I do?

You probably made your system available to him by opening File Sharing. Open System Preferences - Sharing - File Sharing and look under Users. I you see it's open to him or everyone then highlight that and click the - symbol to remove them.
If you are using Norton then remove it following Norton's instructions. Their software tends to create more issues than it solves. OS X has a firewall built into it (System Preferences - Security - Firewall tab) so having a redundant firewall is unnecessary and a waste of system resources and a waste of money.

How can I tell what week my computer was manufactured? My serial number is [..snipped...]. Week 19 translates to what month?
    Thank you

Someone, somewhere could theoretically, trace your serial number to your name, address and maybe even how you paid for your computer. I recently had my identity cloned in Mexico. I wouldn’t think of posting any unnecessary information on any website. But that’s just me.

  • How do you know what week your macbook was made?

I am very concerned about the discoloration on my new macbook and I have heard that if it was made before a certain week that apple will not fix the problem, so I would like to know what week my macbook was made.

Quick question, how do you know if you have the "new batch" (the units that solve the discoloration and heat problems)?
They had to customize mine because they didn't have any already "configured-to-order" in stock. I should get it in 5-6 business days. Does that mean mine is coming off the new batch?

  • How do you find what your IP address is?

Whenever a microwave turns on in our house I lose connection and I was wondering how to find the IP address of my wireless-G router to see if typing it in manually will help.

You use the command prompt to find the IP address of the router. You use the browser to open URLs. The default URL of the router is http://192.168.1.1/. Replace the 192.168.1.1 with the ip address which you have found with ipconfig if it is different. If it is different please also post which IP address you have found with ipconfig.
If you want to open the browser at the URL above from the command prompt enter:
    start http://192.168.1.1/

Last night I posted a question about Firefox being unable to load certain https URLs, but now I can't find it. I would like to be able to find it to see if anyone has made any helpful replies. In the forum settings, I have the following checkboxes:
    Watch forum threads I start:
Watch forum threads I comment in:

Watch KB discussion threads I comment in:
    Send emails for private messages:
All of the above settings are checked, but I can't find where in the interface for these forums I should go to view the threads and comments that I am "watching."
I will bookmark this present support topic so that I can return to it later.
thank you for any help you can provide!

ha ha ha oh my god...
okay, thank you for the help... I see what the problem is... this web site's UI has a shortcoming...
    this URL:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/home
appears to be the home page of the forums... but it is not....
the home page of the forums is buried in a link off to the side in a list labeled "For Contributors"... I mean... by seeking help in the forums, I'm now a "contributor"? ehhh... English... It'd be nice if the UI designers would use it...
the home page to the forums is found via this URL:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
See... whoever named that URL had the right idea... instead of
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/contributors , the person used:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
hmmm.... now if the heading on the right said:
    "For people with questions"
then I would have scanned it more closely, and I would have noticed "Support Forum Home" in the list.
I think the fact that so many people use Firefox is really a testament to how bad the other software out there really is, not to how good the Firefox stuff is or how responsive the firefox people are... E.g. is anyone going to actually learn from my above experience, and make the support forums easier to find?
Is anyone going to actually put a link to the forums in the dashboard for the account that is used to log into the forums?
    No, not a chance...
I mean, yes, I get that the link to the forums home page is always in the footer at the right, but come on, for crying out loud... so are stupid advertisements... it's a footer or side bar or whatever you want to call it... people are trained on a subconscious level, by now, to ignore that crap. If you were going to design a forum, would you take the most important links, and put them off to the side, where they are less likely to be noticed?
This is what I see when I bring up my dashboard:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/630258
I mean, if you are a small time developer, with a few thousand users, you probably don't have the time or the resources to make something that's optimal... but when you have millions upon millions of users... optimizing your interface might be worth looking into.... you know... auditing the performance and effectiveness of your UI now and again might be a good idea... You take the few minutes that you waste a user with a confusing counter-intuitive non-standards-based interface, and you multiply that by millions of users, and what can I say... that's a *lot* of waste.
You don't even have an index of forum content... everything is found by searching... Imagine if you walked into a library, and they had NO catalog.. Instead, all books just tossed into a database, and the only way to find anything is by searching. That would be... just incredibly stupid.... That is what this forum interface is.

  • How do you find out if your imac has a virus?

I was browsing internet and all of a sudden a warning sign came up about my computer having virus, malware content and is saying do I want to check for problems? is this a virus? how do I know? another issue is sometimes I hear sound kinda like when you are playing a scratch cd. what is this prob?

I'm not familiar with Avast, so I don't know what "errors" it's finding. I suspect, like most AV companies, they want to impress you by finding a lot of things which are of absolutely no consequence
If it found three viruses, they are all for Windows and won't run on your Mac. There are no Mac viruses, period.
Here is something to read on Mac malware.

Stop running AV. You don't need it. Many AV programs are in fact more harmful than what they purport to protect against. If you want to run anything, use

Backing up your data is an entirely different issue. Get an external hard drive and make an external bootable clone, my personal preference over Time Machine. But you could use Time Machine.

  • How do you find out when your contract times up?

I've searched all over My BT but no where can I find anything about the date I can cancel my landline. I want to terminate my contract and move to another provder, but don't know either when my contract started or when it ends.
I believe I'm on a yearly one. Even BT's phone menu is baffling as it gives you the choice to cancel and I'm afraid that may literally terminate it there and then.
I'm sick of BT increasing their prices and also removing the paper free discount too. I'm with O2 for phone and also have full Sky package but O2 have the better landline offer with BB cheaper again.
Can someone please help on how to find end date out? thanks
