How do you know if your ical is published? Or find out, I have an iCloud account, I don't want my info to be public?

How can you tell if your ical is publish, I have an icloud account, I do not want other to see my calendar, all of my caledars are under icloud.  Is this private? Wha is the best choice for your default calander?

If you have access to a Mac couldn't you receive your verification via iMessage and work to view you iCloud Account?

If you don't have an icloud account, then icloud is not the thing that's popping up a window.
If you are being asked to enter a password when accessing itunes, then the problem may be that you have purchased items (apps, songs, etc) on the device that were purchased using a different itunes account than the one you currently have defined on your device.
Purchased items are forever associated with the itunes account (the apple ID) that was used to make the purchase.  If you change the ID on the device, you won't be able to update any of them.  You'll have to purchase them again.

  • How do you know if your Iphone app is connecting to the internet?

I'm a brand new Iphone user and I have a question about apps.  I only have the smallest data plan.  I'm wondering how do you know if your app (or any app you download) once opened connects to the internet?
For instance I have a Netflix subscription.  When I hit the Netflix app is that connecting to the internet?  When I watch a movie or tv in my own que is that still on the internet?
Or what about the Kindle app or iBooks?  Is it on the internet to read?
Those are just two small examples.  I'm having a hard time figuring out which apps to download based on if they connect to the internet for their use.

As a general rule, if the app stores all of its data locally on your phone, a data connection is not needed for that app to function properly. If the app does not store data locally on your phone...streaming apps(Netflix), the built in Maps app, etc., a data connection will be required for the app to function properly. You can minimize your cellular data usage by only using such apps when connected to available WiFi. You also have the ability to turn cellular data completely off in settings: Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data>Off. Best to completely read an apps description before installing such on your phone. If a data connection is required for the app to function, it will state such in the app's description.

  • How do you know when your MacBook is infected?

Hey All. Well my question is how do you know when your MacBook is infected with a virus? I came off windows and i have norton antivirus so i have something to tell me there. But on the Mac OS you rarely get viruses and i dont have a anitvirus program, so how do you know when you have one? And what does it do?
    Thanks!

Since no ones got one that I know of it is hard to say. I figure that when the day comes that someone writes a Mac virus you will know real quick what happens. If your concerned you could use ClamXav. I use it if I download something for my wife's PC but have never found anything yet.

  • How do you know if your computer is running 64 Bit?

How do you know if your computer is running 64 Bit?

That's actually a kind of complicated question. Strictly speaking, there's no such thing as "running 64-bit".
That aside, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and late-model Xeons all have chips that have the Intel EM64T instructions set (64-bit extensions developed by AMD and later adopted by Intel), so they are capable or executing those added 64-bit instructions.
In the Leopard OS, most of the system software has been compiled to make use of 64-bit libraries, but at the same time, 32-bit versions are included for compatibility with pre-Leopard software. So, at any given time you can have software running that uses only the 32-bit instructions, or uses the 64-bit instructions.
Now, albeit the 64-bit libraries are capable of addressing a 64-bit address space, until recently, iMacs and Mac notebooks used Intel chipsets (not the CPU, but the chips that connect the CPU to the other parts of the computer) couldn't address more than the 32-bit address space (a portion of which was reserved, which is why you couldn't use more than 3G of RAM in those Macs).
So, based on that you can ask these questions to see if you are running in 64-bits:
Is the computer a G5 Power PC, Xeon, or Core 2 Duo CPU? If no, you are 32-bit, else go on...
Are you using OS X 10.5 or later? If no, you are 32-bit, else go on...
Does the application "require OS X 10.5 or later" or does it advertise that it's a "64-bit" application? If no, the application is probably 32-bit.
On OS X 10.5 and later, most of the pre-installed Apple-branded software uses the 64-bit versions of the libraries, so they can be said to be "64-bit".

  • Security flaw update - how do you know if your iPad and iMac are compromised/hacked?

Can anyone explain how one might know if their iPad or iMac running Mountain Lion has been Hacked.
I always use my wifi at home which is locked.
    On my iPad,
messages popped up two days ago that the password for my apple    me.com account was wrong. When I tried to rectify that, I ended up with Apple freezing the account.  I checked the software and it says it is up to date.
    On my iMac
On Friday and Saturday, messages intermittently popped up about certificates for one of my email accounts on their outbound server (GoDaddy but not Time Warner). On Saturday, I installed the latest update, but I am still getting the certificate message for the GoDaddy email,
Does this mean I was already hacked?
Is there anything else I should do?
    Thank you.

Sounds like your Apple ID may have been hacked. If it gets hacked, it's entirely possible for the hacker to take control away from you entirely, by changing the password, recovery e-mail and security questions, or even enabling two-factor authentication. If they have done the latter, you'll never see your Apple ID again, as Apple absolutely will not assist in recovering an account that has had two-factor authentication enabled.
Since you're unable to log in at this point, you'll need to contact Apple. However, keep in mind that they may not be able to help you. There's very little proof that you own an Apple ID other than the information that the hacker could have changed by now. Still, Apple is the only one who can help with this.
Regarding the GoDaddy e-mail certificate, that's harder to say anything about. You'll probably want to contact GoDaddy support about that one. It's likely to be an issue on their end - perhaps an expired certificate, or a certificate that was compromised and has now been revoked, or a simple configuration issue.
None of this is likely to be related to malware.

  • How do you know when your iphone 4s is done charging if your phone is turned off?

Does it have to be turned on to see if it's hit 100%? I have an older generation Ipod that has a battery symbol when charging and you know it's 100% charged when all the bars are full- it comes up as an icon on the screen. This is my first time charging the phone since I got it so just nervous if it's actually charging.

If you plug your iPhone in to charge, even if it is turned off, it will turn on.
However, if you turn it off during a charge, there will be no notification that it has completed its charge.

  • How do you know when your raid controller has gone bad?

I fired up my xserve raid 14X400 with 2X512mb Raid Controllers and drives 1-7 on the left won't show up at all. I swapped the controllers and then drives 8-14 won't show up. I have been trying to update the firmware from 1.5 to the latest and keep getting an error with the upper controller. I can't find anywhere that you can buy a new controller. Anybody know what I should do? My apple warranty ended in June and I didn't update it so Apple isn't going to help. What should I do? Can you have the controller card itself serviced? Thanks for any help. Also, I'm hoping that my media is still good?

    Hi
If you have swopped the controllers around and the problem follows the controller then that is a pretty good indication that something is not quite right with the controller. Obviously reseating - basically pulling out the affected controller, a good blast of air inside to remove and dust/grit that might possibly be stopping a good connection and pushing it back again - the controller to see if that makes a difference is one thing you should do. Swopping them over effectively does this anyway. What does the events log in RAID Admin say? There is usually some indication in the log if there has been a problem.
Its an obvious question and possibly you may have forgotten it in the panic but when you purchased the XServe RAID did you not take up the spare parts kit option? If you did install the replacement controller. If you did not and in view of the fact you did not take out the extended warranty seems overly optimistic, your only recourse in my view is to remove the affected controller and send it to your nearest Apple Repair Specialist - or deal with Apple themselves. They should send you a replacement under their Global Service Exchange Program. Make sure you send the faulty part as well as knowing the XServe RAID’s Serial Number. They should send a 90 day warranty replacement within 2 days. If you are in the UK its going to be expensive (approx £350VATshipping). Actually its going to be expensive wherever you are.
There is a possibility that one of the other guys knows a method of getting this going again and will hopefully post a suggestion soon. However the sooner you act on this the sooner you can get your RAID array back on line. I do hope you have a current and effective backup in place just in case. You should be doing this anyway.
    Hope this helps, Tony

  • How do you know if your phone is synced to icloud.

I have an Iphone 5 and dropped it, shattering the screen so that it is unusable, the screen is black. I am unable to synce to itunes because my phone is locked with a passcode and I am unable to use the screen to unlock the phone. I was wondering if there was anyway to find out if my phone data has all been sent to icloud? I can't remember if I had it turned on on my phone. I went to the icloud website but I need a two step verification which I don't remember my key code so I'm stuck. I don't want to get a new phone in case my data hasn't been stored. Any thoughts?

If you have access to a Mac couldn't you receive your verification via iMessage and work to view you iCloud Account?
