How do you save a Word document when it says you have no memory?

Connect another disk drive to which you can save the document. Then clear space on your hard drive.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
  1. See Lion/Mountain Lion's Storage Display.
  2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
  3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
  4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
  5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
  6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

You can't directly, as Microsoft don't include iCloud support in their apps.
You'd have to open your Word file in Apple's Pages and save it to iCloud from there.

  • TS1506 how do i save a word document attached to an email to my iphone

I am trying to save a word document from an email to my iphone 4s.
I have looked on all of the support pages and have found that word . doc is supported but cannot see how i can save it in any way?
I have followed all guidelines but now it is making it hard to either attach a document to my email and save them

In order to save any type of document on your phone you need to have an app that supports that form of document.
There are several word processing apps but I prefer Pages.  Buy this app. Once it is on your phone you can tap the Word document in your email to view it then tap the Share icon and Open in Pages.
If you edit the document and email it you will have the choice to send it as a Pages document, a Word document or a PDF file.

You have to either put in the passcode, or if you do not know it, restore via the recovery mode, how to connect using recovery mode is described in the article you reference, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212

    Hi,
If you want to move the document to other library immediately, the following workarounds for your reference:
1.Create an Event Receivers for document library and use SPFile.MoveTo
method to move file to the other document library.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spfile.moveto.aspx
    http://www.learningsharepoint.com/2010/07/04/programmatically-copy-and-move-documents-in-sharepoint-2010/
2.Create a workflow using SharePoint designer and use Copy List Item Action to copy file, then delete the current document.

  • How can I remove confidential word documents when i give mac book away?

I have Word on my mac book pro
I want to give the book to my grandson
I do not want him to have my word documents.
    How can I remove them?

I do not understand your problem. You can erase the whole Mac as I said n my first reply.
If you only want to delete the documents, move them to the Trash and securely delete the Trash. See:

  • How to save as Word document, when Pages does not give that option, but only "Save a version"

I cannot save a document in Word or Word-compatible form. The only options I am given in File is "Save a Version," which does not provide for saving in Word. How do I do this?

Use the Export item from the File menu and select Word at the top.
    Best of luck.

  • How can I save a Word document as a PDF whilst retaining hyperlinks?

I know that Word can't do it (not on Mac anyway).
What other software (ideally free) can do it though?

You're right - it doesn't work on a Mac: not even with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
That's why I have to use Word for Windows running under Parallels. I'm now running Windows Pro 64-bit and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and hyperlinks are fuly functional using the Windows version. It's not a bug, it's just that Adobe hasn't invested much effort into support Acrobat/Word on a Mac, I suppose.
If you're willing to make the investment in Windows, Office 2013 (which I'm now using) and Acrobat Pro XI, you can easily save PDF files with active hyperlinks. I notice that "AussieDJ" says that it works in Pages - although I have Pages, I've not tried it as Pages is a joke as far as I'm concerned.
Just one more thing you can accomplish on a Windows machine that you can't do on a Mac...

  • How can i save word documents to pages? I have an illegal copy of word but want to upgrade my software so I can utilize i cloud.  I'm a writer and need to preserve my word documents.

I have an illegal copy of word and I want to upgrade my software so I can utilize i cloud.  How can I save my word documents to pages
so that they are not lost in this upgrade?  I do not have the disk to reinstall word after the upgrade.

You might want to post your question in the Pages forum. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iwork/pages
Also if it's the Office 2004 version of Word it won't work in Lion since it's a Power PC program. Office 2008 will work in Lion if it's already installed when you upgrade. But it won't install on Lion because the installer program uses Power PC code. Office 2011 is the only one that will install and work on Lion.

  • My Mac got hacked. I was working on a word document when the computer suddenly started typing meaningful sentences on its own that describes how the hacker is skillful. At the that time I was on a password protected wifi and file sharing was off.

This is the first time I get hacked this bad. I was working on a microsoft word document when the computer suddenly started typing meaningful sentences on its own that describes how skillfull the hacker is. At the that time I was on a friends wifi network that is password protected (not sure about the encyrption), the Os X Firewall was on. I was using the admin profile, however, file sharing was off. I'm very careful not to install any suspecious 3rd party software.
So far I have verified permissions and fixed some errors there, and changed passwords.
Do I have to erase/format my computer and reinstall the Os? If so is it adequte to use the internet recovery tool or will it use old and possibly infected EFI/Root files?
Would appreciate the advice of all the Mac experts out there. Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. If the command produced no output, the window will be empty. Post the contents of the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix\.cron)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; echo; sudo launchctl getenv DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES; echo; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; echo; sudo crontab -l; } 2> /dev/null | open -ef
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    { launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'; echo; launchctl getenv DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES; echo; crontab -l 2> /dev/null; } | open -ef
    Step 4
    ls -A /e*/{cr,la,mach}* {,/}Lib*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts .la* 2> /dev/null | open -ef
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of login items' | open -ef
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • When I save a Word document as a PDF file and open it, some of the boxes around the text don't show

    Hello,
I currently have Abobe Reader X (10.1.2) on Windows 7 and I need to save a Word document currently in A3 as a PDF file to print in A4. For some documents I have no problem printing and all of the text, images, boxes, lines etc. all show up no problem, except for 2 documents where there is a problem. The document fits onto the screen perfectly.
    Please help! Thanks

Reader is unable to create PDF files. You must be using some other product, and therefore should post your question in that product's forums.
