How do you turn off event auto-detect?

Hiya,
I was originally impressed with, but now rather fed up with Mail on my iPad spotting words that look like dates or times and offering to turn them into iCal events by displaying them as blue underlined links. In some emails I get large portions of the text are proposed days or dates and it makes navigating the text of the email a bit tricky in case I trigger iCal.
I've looked in the Settings panel for Mail and Calendars but don't see anything that turns this feature off. Is there such a setting somewhere? I really really hope so...

No there doesn't appear to be.
Also note that it does the same thing with Adresses (links to maps) and email addresses (send a mail) and phone numbers (contacts).
I've found it to be a convenient feature, but can understand to desire to turn it off.

I am using either of the path selection tools to select only some of the paths on the layer. I have the proper layer targeted. I have the selection too auto select option turned off.
If another layer has a path in that area, that layer becomes auto targeted and I get the wrong path. Turning off the layer is the only way to avoid this but then I have to turn on the layer back on between making my selection and transforming to use the other layer as guide. Is there any way to stop this auto select? Locking the other layer does not stop the auto select, just prevents editing.

As far as i know the move tool options don't have any effect on the path selection tools.
You might try clicking on one of the path points or on the path itself with one of path selection tools and if you want to select multiple points
you can shift click with the Direct Selection Tool or Alt click to select the entire path.

How do you turn off the auto grid?

How do you turn off the auto grid? I read in a forum that the solution is "View- show- turn off grid". But the weird thing is I had to have that website open to even get the alternative up under "View". If I didn´t, there were other alternatives there. Why?
The second problem is, when I finally got the "Turn off auto grid" alternative up, it will not be unchecked…. I´m working on a mac.

Open Windows Media Player.
Go to Tools > Options > Library and unchheck everything.
This will keep WMP from changing everything in teh background.
Then re-edit all your info in iTunes.
iTunes automatic music info feature keeps changing the genres, and occasionally albums, whenever I select a song.
It only looks like iTunes is changing the info.
When a file is first added to iTunes, the file info read and stored in the iTunes database and this is what is displayed. Whenever an item is actually played in iTunes, it will reread the info from the file.
Since WMP has changed the info in the background, iTunes will reread the info and update the database and disply the changed info.

I have two Apple ID's as I am currently in Italy and when I first set up my Apple ID it acknowledged my current location. However when I applied for BBCiplayer I had to set up a different ID with UK address. I thought maybe I was looking at the wrong account so used the e-mail address to which the auto renew receipt had been sent and followed the "forgotten Apple ID" link which prompted me for a new password. Set up new password but whenever I try and log into account I am not asked for password and ID it just automatically takes me there (so unable to switch accounts).

If you are using your computer's iTunes then you can log out of an account via the Store > Sign Out menu option, that will then change to a Store > Sign In option
Is that what you are doing ?

How do you turn off the Auto-Maximize Snap Feature

Hi,
I am sure that the auto-maximize is useful but there are occasions when I want to push a window out of the way to the top of the screen. I use this so I can either keep it open and work on other windows or when I have a large spreadsheet and every pixel is needed. It would be useful to over-ride it by holding down a key(s) for those occasions.

Seems like a strange way of doing it, however it still does not work as intended, the behavior i am seeing is this.

3.    Then

screen.”. no problem hot keys enabled problem mouse snaps windows as setting is now unchecked that was checked in #2
In addition to this behavior if “Prevent windows

screen.” is checked it only applies to the current session as davehc1 noted. The only way i have found to keep the setting from reverting back to on is to alter the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowArrangementActive

I've perused the forums and have concluded in my computer-technically-naive mind that this could lead me to internet bliss...... I have been experiencing excrutiatingly slow or never-loading web pages.    Often, after a couple of minutes of waiting I will get a [cannot connect] message, yet when I press the reload button in the message, it then loads immediately.   This has been occurring for several weeks now. Occurs across all browsers that I am using - Safari, Chrome and Firefox.   Very frustrating.   So.... how do I turn off IP Flood Detection?
I found an assist on-line as follows: enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
User name: admin
Password: admin
On status page, click Firewall.
On the Firewall page, disable/uncheck IP Flood Detection.
Unfortunately, the admin/password given doesn't work.   Does anyone have updated ones?... or perhaps another solution?

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 5.6.1.
5.6.1 is the version of AirPort Utility, which is the software that is only used to configure an Apple AirPort router.
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 will only work with the Apple routers......not with a Bell modem.
If you have an Apple wireless router, please look on the bottom of the device for the model number. All AirPort routers have a model number that starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.
If you only have a Bell modem, we would not be able to provide support for that product on an Apple support site. You will need to connect the Bell support folks for assistance in that regard.

In an AIR application, how do you turn off the camera once it has been activated? I remove all references to Video objects associated with the camera, unattach the camera from NetStreams, and remove references to the camera object. This does not deactivate the camera; it seems to be necessary to run the garbage collector too. The trouble is that running the program in the debugger with the manual garbage collector action causes the application to be unresponsive for >30 seconds, which is extremely annoying. Is there a simpler way to turn off the camera?
For reference, I am testing on a MacBook that has an LED for when the camera is in use.

It might help knowing that Apple uses the term "Versions" instead of AutoSave. I have not yet found how to turn it off, but in the meantime, here's how to delete "Previous Versions":
Do one of the following:

'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible.
