How do you view 4 or more all day events

Is there a way to view 4 or more all day events without getting the .... at the top of the day box?
Cheers

T.Edwards,
Have you tried making the window larger?
According to iCal: Understanding symbols « How to work your Mac: "In Month view, three dots (an ellipsis) at the top of the day indicates there are more events on that day than can be shown. To see all the events in Day view,double-click the ellipsis."

  • Showing more All-Day Events in Month View?

Even with the iCal window maximized, when more than 4 All-Day events take place on the same day, Month View shows "..." instead of the usual All-Day colour bar, even if there's still half the space left in 'box' for that day....
To be clear: it shows the first 4 colour bars for the corresponding all-day events, then "..." at the top to show there are more, you have to switch to Week or Day view to see them
I looked at the plist and can't figure what could be changed.... any tips? It would really be convenient to see the maximum possible number of All-Day events even in Month view.
    Merci!

Unfortunately, it appears that this is intentional. The iCal Help file states:
"If you're in Month view and you see three dots (an ellipsis) at the top of the day, there is not enough room to show all the events on that day. To see all the events in Day view, double-click the ellipsis."
I suspect that half of the box is saved for all-day events and half for timed events. On my iMac G3, I get three dots and 3 events, on my G5 with a much larger screen I get three dots and 4 events. If anyone figures out how to alot more space to all-day events, it would be a big help.

  • Display more than 3 all day events

Is there any way that I can view 3 or more all day events in the month view of Ical. Events apprear when I open up the day view. However, for my organizing I need to see all to varify time lapse between events. Can I change font size?

this is causing me problems as well. It seems pretty silly, there is plenty of room in the calendar. Did you find a workaround?
    mark.

  • Calendar too many all day events in weekly view

The headings for events disappear in the iCloud Calendar's "weekly" view when you add too many "all day" events onto 1 day.  It's weird because the event headings show correctly in the monthly view and the day view but just not in the weekly view.  You can tell the events are there in the weekly view but the event headings do not appear.
The events' headings appear fine when displayed in the "weekly" view in the Calendar.app back on my iMac (desktop).  So, it's just a problem with the weekly view in the Calendar on the iCloud.com.
    Anybody else noticing this?
    Can Apple get it fixed?

Same problem here; if I EVER find out the solution I will post it here.

  • All day events, text is cut off

I'm making a calendar to hand out to my ski team, and on certain days they need to tell us if they can or cannot go to the next ski race, so i've been trying to put a reminder as an all day event in, because it doesn't have a specific time that it needs to be done by, and because reminding them to do this takes a few words, and all of the words at the end get cut off... so i can't get my point across, how do I allow my entire all day event to take up more than one line, in the calandar view??

For different reasons, I have the same question, i.e., can an all day event be made to wrap around to more than one line in a monthly calendar?
Alternatively, can I make an event without a time included in the print out?
I'm trying to make a genealogy calendar that includes the date, year and place of births and deaths. Obviously, such events would not include a time of day...or at least not times that I would know.
Narwhales...did you ever figure out a work around?

  • Section for All-Day events

At the top of my Day- or Week-view calendars, in the small space available for All-Day events, there's always a space 1 row long even if there is no event planned. If at least one day has an all-day event, then the entire week has what looks like 2 slots, the event being on one and then room for another, but if you add a second all day event... you get my point.
Is this just the way iCal looks or is my program having a minor issue?
(I always try to search before posting but didn't find anything quite the same..)
    Thanks guys.

There wouldn't by chance be some sort of official hack to change this state of affairs?
I use iCal on an iBook, and my screen real estate is limited. If I could get rid of this additional row in the all-day events section, I would have more space to display my other events.
I would even be prepared to go back to iCal 1.5 just to get more screen space - but unfortunately its not supported to run in Mac OS 10.4 (is there any way to hack iCal 1.5 to run on 10.4? You see, I'm seriously annoyed by this little UI change. Have even toyed with the thought of trying Entourage...)
    Thanks

  • No all-day events in iCal

    Hello everyone,
I am experiencing some kind of bug in my Mavericks 10.9.2 iCal, where is field for all-day events completely empty. So no birthday or other events.
Of course, the calendar account is checked and online, calendar is checked, birthdays are enabled....
I tryed to disable accounts and enable again, and some other things, but with no success.
Any idea how to fix that ?
    Thank you,

OK, forget that. The iCal was some king of stacked. I deselected ical>view> unselect "show all day events" and closed the iCal, then opened that and select it again to make it work.

  • Outlook 2010 all day Event sync Problem

I have just migrated to a Bold 9900 (from a 9800 Torch) and am having problems with Outlook EVENTS. When they are synced via Desktop (7.0.0.43) they roll over and appear as a 2 day event. I am running Outlook client 2010 under Windows 7 and all was working well until I migrated from the Torch. I have checked Time zones on PC and phone and only issue I notice is that Windows 7 is using UTC while handset is GMT, but same is true for Torch 9800? Events are appear correctly as expected on Outlook.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Part of the problem appears to be that the new desktop manger software (v7, no longer intellisync) does not include the "All Day Event" flag as a a field that is synchronized between the blackberry and MS outlook.  You can see that this field is no longer included in the detailed field mappings for the outlook calendar.
You can sucessfully create and sync an all day event initially.  Problems begin when you later try to modify the "all day event".  If you try to convert the all day event into a regular appointment at a specified time, you must  "uncheck" the all day event flag on either platform (outlook or blackberry).  Desktop Manager never recognizes the change in the all day event flag (since the field is not synced), which then creates a corrupt MS Outlook entry (an appointment with BOTH a specific start/end time AND also with the all day event flag checked, is mutually exclusive in MS Outlook 2010.  Maybe somebody could fix this bug in next release....

  • Using iCal on iPhone in Day view - How can I move divider to give more space to all-day events?

I am using iCal on an iPhone
I would like to move the divider that seperates all-day events from the timed events. I would like to view with more room for all-day events and less room for timed events. How can I do this?

If you change anything in a repeating calendar entry it will give you the option of disconnecting it from the series. So may any random change, choose to not change the series.

  • How can I see more than 6 all day events in the week view without scrolling?

How can I see more than 6 all day events in the week view without scrolling?  I need to see all of my all day events at once.  I use this for scheduling and comparing of # invoices.  Going back and forth to scroll is cumbersome.  I just want to be able to expand the top section so I can see everything at once.

    Any ideas, anyone?

  • How can you view multi day events in month view without having to check the "all-day" box?

I have multi-day events that I would like to be able to view in the month view.  The only way that I have found to do this is to make the event a "all-day" event.  Is there another way to view these events in month view, or am I stuck?

It shows multi-day events that are "all-day" events.
But for a non "all-day" event that happens to span multiple days, it only shows the first day

  • How can I print multiple lines in my All Day Events (month view)?

Does anyone know if there is anyway to print multiple lines for all day events? When I print my iCal from a monthly view, my all day events (positioned as a header) only print the words that can fit into the daily box, instead of going into multiple lines and displaying the whole text.
    For example:
Los Angeles County Fair, Don't forget to pick up John and Jen
    will print as:
    Los Angeles County Fa......Jen
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
P.S. I have already tried meddling with fonts and page sizes to no avail.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
So far as I know, an allday event only ever shows a single line of text regardless of view.
Consequently, how much you can see is governed by the width of the day (or days) in that view.

  • How can you set up more than one device on iTunes. I have an iPad, iPod, itouch and iPhone. I don't want the same on all devices.

How can you set up more than one device on iTunes? I have an iPad, iPod, itouch and iPhone. I don't want the same on all devices. I have all my music/videos on iTunes on my mac book pro. Can you set up separate folders for each device and drop in what ever music/videos from the main iTunes library?

In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them

  • How do I expand the view of all day events in iCal?

I am unable to find an answer to this question any where.  Is it possible to expand the area in iCal where all day events appear in the day and week views?

Did you ever get an answer on this?  I can see everything in the DAY view but need to see the all day events in the week view.  I have events that start on say the 15th and run to the 21st.  I've started putting the end date in the location field but it was so much nicer when the all day even portion expanded to allow you to see all of them without having to scroll.  Having to use the DAY view makes it really hard to schedule.  Any chance this will change in the new version?

  • How to view iCal all day events in notifications tab?

First of all I really don't like the new iCal app in ios7 but for now I am dealing with it and am contemplating getting a new app to use for my calendar. However I am trying to make this one work first. One of the problems I have is if I have iCal events that are scheduled as "all day" events, and when I swipe down to view my notifications tab it says I have no events even when I have an event for that day.  However it shows up if I have a time for that event, ex: 8:00 am to 10:00am.
Is this a bug or is there a way to get them to show up? I have everything turned on in settings for the notifications tab settings.
My other issue with iCal is I have two calendars (one for work and one for home) and when I view my month, I want to be able to see the color of the event i have planned on certain days, instead it just shows me a grey dot for the days i have something planned. My ipad with ios7 shows me the view I want my iphone doesn't, just grey dots.  This forces me to actually click on the day and then try to scroll through the day timeline to find my event.....any help?
