How dod I add eduperson object class to OpenDirectory

I have modified /etc/openldap/slapd.conf
# See slapd.conf(5) for details on configuration options.
# This file should NOT be world readable.
include /etc/openldap/schema/eduperson.schema
and place the eduperson.schema in the schema directory
restarted
but I do not have access to the eduperson object class nor the attributes.
What is the best way to add an objectclass to OS X Opendirectory?
Thanks

Hi,
There could be several ways. For instance, you can try to modify .*-pre ..*-post targets in your App/Makefile file.
Or you can create probe as file in project with "Custom Build Tool" and specify build command
Additional object files to link you should specify in linker options of Project Properties

  • How do you add an object to a collection typed witha wildcard?

    Hi All,
    I want to add an object to a collection typed with a wildcard but I can't figure out how to do it.
    I've been thru the generics tutorial again and I now understand that I can't do exactly what I want to and why. However I don't know how to do it right. I copy some code below to show the problem:
    private List<? extends HasCriteria> dataList;
    private HasCriteria dataObject;
    public HasCriteria getDataObject() {
            return dataObject;
    public List<? extends HasCriteria> getCollection() {
            if(dataList==null){
                refreshDataCollection();
            return dataList;
       }/*I want to be able to do the add() below but the generics tutorial assures me, as does the compiler, that I can't. So how do I get an object into the collection?? */
    public void create(){
    getCollection().add(getDataObject());
    }/*I don't understand why I can do this setCollection() call below as the compiler has no idea that the resultList is of type HasCriteria, however I accept that it is ok with this*/
    protected <T extends HasCriteria> void setCollection(Collection<T> m) {
                dataList = new ArrayList<T>(m) ;
                for(HasCriteria t: dataList){
                    t.setStatus(HasCriteria.Status.SAVED);
    public void refreshDataCollection(String jpaQL, List modelParameters){
                Query q = em.createQuery(jpaQL);
                List rl = q.getResultList();
                if(rl != null){
                    setCollection(rl);
                    setModelQuery(jpaQL, modelParameters);
    }

    class GenGen <K extends Shape> {
      private List<K> dataList;
      private K dataObject;
      public K getDataObject() {
        return dataObject;
      public List<K> getCollection() {
        if(dataList==null){
          //refreshDataCollection();
        return dataList;
      public void create(){
        getCollection().add(getDataObject());
      protected void setCollection(Collection<K> m) {
        dataList = new ArrayList<K>(m) ;
        for(Shape t: dataList){
          // t.setStatus(HasCriteria.Status.SAVED);
      public void refreshDataCollection(String jpaQL, List modelParameters){
        List rl = null;
        setCollection(rl);
    }Note that in that final setCollection, you'll get an unchecked conversion warning, if you haven't turned them off.

  • How to create custom attributes & object classes through ldif files in OID

    Hi,
    I have to create 4 attributes and one object class(custom) in OID. I want to creae these attributes and object class through LDIF file.
    I tried creating an attribute through this command
    ldapadd -p 389 -h localhost -D cn=orcladmin -w password -f D:/newattr.ldif
    this ldif file contains inf. for creating a new attributes:
    dn: cn=subschemasubentry
    changetype: add
    add: attributetypes
    attributetypes: ( 1.2.3.4.5.6.10 NAME "xsUserType_new" DESC "User Type Definition" EQUALITY caseIgnoreMatch
    SYNTAX "1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.15" )
    I am getting error: Object class violation
    Failed to find add in mandatory or optional attribute list.
    Please help to find where I am going wrong...
    Thanks.

    Hi Ajay,
    Thank you for the help. Now i am able to create both attributes and object classes in OID through Ldif files.
    I was getting constraint violation error because (I think) I was not giving proper naming convection for attributes and object classes. For OID, there are certain Ldap naming conventions. They are as follows:
    # X below is the enterprise number assigned by IANA
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.1 - assign to SNMP objects
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2 - assign to LDAP objects
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.1 - assign to LDAP syntaxes
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.2 - assign to LDAP matchingrules
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.3 - assign to LDAP attributes
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.4 - assign to LDAP objectclasses
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.5 - assign to LDAP supported features
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.9 - assign to LDAP protocol mechanisms
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.10 - assign to LDAP controls
    1.3.6.1.4.1.X.2.11 - assign to LDAP extended operations
    By using these conventions for attributes and object class, I did got any error and they were created in OID.
    Thanks a zillion.
    Kalpana.

  • How Can I add a object to the scene Graph ??

    Hi all!
    I have set up a 3d scene Graph. Now I want to add a object (for example,a cone) to the scene Graph. How can I do ???
    thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    if you want to add your cone to a branchgroup "mainbranchgroup", you have to set mainbranchgroup.setCapability(BranchGroup.ALLOW_CHILDREN_WRITE) while creating this branchgroup (and before compiling the scene).
    Then, when you want to add the cone, you just have to add a child to the mainbranchgroup.
    I hope that helps.

  • How do you add a new class package?

    Hi guys,
    I have just started using J2SE and I need to add a new class definition. This is to be imported at the start of the program,
    ie. import cs1.Keyboard;
    The thing im not sure of is, how do I make the compiler know where the Keyboard class is? Which directory do I have to put it in?
    If anyone has any idea, it would be really appreciated. Thanks

    Put Keyboard.class in a directory named cs1 and add the parent of cs1 to your CLASSPATH when you compile and run:

  • Using ps elements 9, how do i add an object from 1 photo to another

    how do i add a person from 1 photo to a group of people in another photo (using elements 9)

    Open photo B, the one that you want to add an object to. Minimize this.
    Open Photo A, and using one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, make a selection of the object that is to be transferred to B. You will see "marching ants" when the selection is complete.
    Go to Edit menu>copy to place the selection on the clipboard
    Go back to photoB
    Go to Edit>paste
    With the move tool, position the object and resize with the corner handles of the bounding box.

  • How do I add interactive objects to a quiz slide?

    Hello, I'm having a Captivate 5 problem and can't seem to find an answer on the web or in the forums.  I'm creating a quiz in which I'd like to ask multiple choice questions.  For each answer option I'd like the user to be able to click on something - the answer text, an additional image, something - that would open a web page in a separate browser tab or window.  That new window would contain information related to the linked answer option.  This way the users can assess the relevance of each option in relation to the question.
    I've tried using the "Advanced Answer Option" option but that only opens a window when the answer is submitted.  Before I sat down to do this I was thinking I'd just add image buttons on the page, but it turns out that I can't add buttons, text inputs and several other options in a quiz slide.
    If anyone has any ideas on how to work around this I'd really appreciate hearing them.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Hi Steve, thanks so much for the quick reply!
    The Button Widget does the job admirably, I can add it in and even make it invisible with the alpha setting so it appears that an image is the actual link.  Totally lets me do what I wished!
    Thanks again!

  • Add object Classes before creating user??

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where in I need to add object classes to the user while provisioning to Sun Directory Server. How exactly should I be implementing my process task for the same. Should I add the object class after the Create task is finished or before the Create User task gets triggered?
    Thanks,
    Supreetha

    Are you talking about adding custom object classes for the users? This would be a schema change and should be done prior to adding users since that would fail without having the correct schema in place. To add new object classes you need to either manually create the from the DSEE admin page or import the object definitions and attributes from a ldif file. Once that is all done, you can then configure the provisioning workflow and add the object classes during user creation so the system knows what object classes to associate with each user entry.

    Tcode SCDO. You'll need to create a change document for you Z table and then use the FM created to record the changed data.

  • How do I insert an object in an array?

    How can I insert an object in an array of variable size?
    I input two numbers from keyboard
    1
    2that form the following object (Pair)
    (1,2)
    how can I add such objects to an array
    private Pair s[];
    e.g.
    public PairList(int x){
    top = -1;
    s = new Pair[x];
    }//constructor
    public void getPairs()throws FullException{
    BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    try{
    a=input.readLine();b=input.readLine();
    }//try
    catch(IOException e){System.out.println("Can't read input");}//catch
    int x=0;
    int y=0;
    try{
    x=Integer.parseInt(a);}//try
    catch(NumberFormatException e){}
    try{
    y=Integer.parseInt(b);}//try
    catch(NumberFormatException e){}
    Pair k=new Pair(x,y);
    System.out.println(k);
    s[++top]=k; --here is my problem
    }//getPairs

    I tried making as few changes to your code as possible, but your idea should basically work. Potential problems:
    1. Doesn't allow for more input than 1 pair.
    2. By storing pair in an array, you must know the exact size of the array you will need beforehand. You might be better off storing the Pair(s) in a Vector and then converting that to an array.
    3.Your exception handlers need some work. Basically, your exception handlers put out a message or do nothing and then you continue processing. Not good.
    4. No cleanup of file resources after you have completed
    import java.io.*;
    public class PairList{
         private Pair s[];
         private int top;
         public PairList(int x){
              top = -1;

    Disclaimer: that's my feedback under the blog post. I'm trying to figure out how to use DE to maintain an extended schema that includes migrated NIS maps. The overall goal is to migrate from NIS to LDAP as a naming service AND create realistically easy method for day-to-day administration (constantly using the console is out of the question). I believe DE might provide a solution, if custom forms can be figured out. It's been very slow going.
    Does anyone else have examples of modifying Directory Editor forms? Any help would be appreciated.
