How :Logon page submits UID & PW with HTTPS

Hi,
i need to modify the EP 6 NW4 logon page so that ONLY the logon is secured. The Portal usage afterwards is using HTTP.
1. User arrives with HTTP.
2. Redirect to HTTPS logon.
3. Secure Submission of the UID and PW.
4. Authentication and redirect to HTTP.
Are this steps possible ?
Is there any documentation? I was looking in the Security Guide, but no luck so far.
I assume that the biggest problem is in step 4.
Thanks for any hints,
Kai

Hi,
I need to set-up the same scenario. Have you been able to make that work?

  • I wander how to establish Webdispatcher on EP with HTTPS

I wander how to establish Webdispatcher on EP with HTTPS . I
can do it for HTTP. I found releated link in SAP Library:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d8/a922d7f45f11d5996e00508b5d5211/frameset.htm
but still I do not understand as installation sapwebdisp -bootstap asks me only for HTTP port of mesage server , instance nr for web dispatcher and HTTP port number for SAP webdispatcher.
    How to deal with HTTPS?
In library (under SAP Web Dispatcher and SSL ) it is mentioned for HTTPS-HTTPS: icm/server_port_<xx>= ... PROT=HTTPS ...
wdisp/ssl_encrypt=1. Is it in sapwebdisp.pfl? I guess also on EP something should be done(I have a productive system and I would not like to spoil anything)

    Is it in sapwebdisp.pfl?
    Yes.
I have a productive system and I would not like to spoil anything)
You should setup the QAS environment to support webdispatcher and https first.
Be aware, that there are three different methods for https:
client https> webdispatcher -http-> SAP system
client https> webdispatcher -https-> SAP system (decrypt on webdispatcher and re-encrypt to SAP system)
client https> webdispatcher -https-> SAP system (no decryption on webdispatcher)
Often the first version is sufficient and the simplest one...
    Cheers Michael

  • Submitting a PDF with HTTP Post

I am new to servlet programming.
However, I have managed to create a servlet to handle PDF submissions from an HTML form. The parameters used are
    <input type="file" name="datafile" size="40">
    <input type="submit" value="Send">
I am using the datafile as the parameter in the servlet for the PDF. I would like to create the same functionality where I can submit the entire PDF form the PDF.
What is the format to submit the file type parameter with datafile as the name ?
    Aditya

    Hi,
As I know you can determine this parameter in PDF form? you can only submit whole PDF file to some link. This means you have o write one more servlet to handle submitting from pdf form.

  • Portal Logoff and redirect to my own (created) logon page

    Hi experts,
one Question about "Portal logoff and redirect to another URL", and I know there already are solutions how to fix that, but I was not successfull with my doings.
I have a customized logon page. When I call "http://myportal:50000/irj/portal/anonymous", I can see my own logon page. That works fine.
    Now to my problem:
    1) I'm using SAP NetWeaver Portal v7.01 (VMWare) with Windows 7 (x64 Bit)
    2) In Config Tool "ume.logoff.redirect.silent" is setted at true and "ume.logoff.redirect.url" (both under "Global settings") at "http://myportal:50000/irj/portal/anonymous". Than WebAS has been restarted.
    3) In source code of the Portal page (Masthead), I could see that the setted values can be readed from config tool
    4) So far I could understand, when the parameters are setted and "silent" is true, than a new iframe will be created which is append to the document (JavaScript: logoffThirdParty())
    5) After this, the logoff form will submitted, that means xxxx.LogOutComponent is running. Think this components reads some hidden attributes as "logon_submit", and one of this should be the (new created) externalIFrame
Instead of my anonymous page, I see the default SAP logon page. I don't have made any changes on com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead iView (should be the right name I think).
    Thanks for assitance and regards,

  • Urgent--custom servlet not working with https/gateway of the portal server

We have created the custom servlet to add some more authentication to the login screen. I have explained detaildely below.
We have set if password reset change password screen should come by using identity server.
First screen comes which asks user id and password.
after this next screen comes with old password, New Password and Confirm Password (as we have forcefully asked user to change password after reset by using identity server ).
On this page we have added two new filed Date of Birth and Date of Joining.
And we are forcefully transferring request to our Custom Servlet which will validate the Date of Birth and Date of Joining from the database and submit the same a form as required by Login Servlet to validate the default parameters old Password, New Password and Confirm Password (which is the default validation without adding custom Servlet).
This whole process is working with http protocol and giving unable to connect host with https protocol.
Without custom Servlet process is like this, which is working
Login (usrid, password) Login (Old Password, New Password, Confirm Password) Portal home Page
With custom Servlet , Which is not working with https Protocol. we are getting the message "Authentication Failed" screen.
Login (usrid, password) --> Login (Old Password, New Password, Confirm Password , Date of Birth, Date of Joinig) --> Custom Servlet validate Date of Birth, Date of Joining --> Login (Old password, new Password, Confirm Password) --> Protal Home Page
This one works with http, whereas this one gives the "Authentication Failed" screen with the https.
Please let me know if anybody have implemented this and help me to resolve the issue.
    Best Regards

  • How to make EP Logon Page configurable?

    Hi Everybody!!
I have modified the logon page of EP and everything works fine. But i have a query.
Generally the logon page which is designed by me changes as per the requirement or on monthly basis. The change include enabling/disabling of any link such as some mail link or enabling/disablng of the company banner/company message.
Now for doing any such kind of change, i have to modify the PAR file and then re-upload it again.
But i would like to know, Is there any way to do this kind of changes without changing the PAR file and putting these properties on the Portalapp.xml and then create iView on this and then by modifying the properties from the properties editor, i will be able to handle the logon page better??
I know that we never create an iView on the logon PAR but write its name in the authscheme.xml.
If any one would be able to tell me how this authschemes internally works (how it loads the PAR and then creates the logon page and where it keeps the logon page in PCD), that will also be fine.
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards
    Gaurav

    >  I wander if Java systems have an heterogeneous system copy procedures
They do of course but you need to have a certified migration consultant on-site, otherwise you'll loose SAP support during the  migration and for the target system. See http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ
Apart from that the migration itself is described in the standard system copy guides.
    > and wheher such existing configuration(+HA) can be handled as HA on HP-ux with service guards(incl. Extension for SAP)
    Yes, it can.
If your read the installation guides for the specific system configuration you'll find a special section for HA setups.

I have a win 7 and a win 8.1 computer.  I have a file which contains both landscape and portrait pages.  The file prints correctly with the mixed orientation from the win 7 pc, but will only print with either landscape or portrait on the win 8.1 pc.
I am using Adobe reader XI on the win 7 pc and adobe touch on the win 8.1 pc

    4.Also the background of the screen of the logon page with a company pic ;
    I am following the below
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/ModifyingtheLogon+Page
    Kindly help in this
    Naga

When you follow the steps outlined at the Wiki page, what exactly is where you receive an error? You'll have to change the JSP page of the logon to insert your changes. Have you done this and the changes are not reflected?

Regardless of whether this bar is displayed or not, you should be able to access what is in the "Favourites" folder in a few ways.
Firstly via the Bookmarks link in Safari. This is the first icon directly to the right of the address bar. Pressing this will open your Bookmarks menu. If you see the word Bookmarks in blue select this and it will take you to the main bookmarks page, and the word Bookmarks will appear in black bold text. If you see Bookmarks in black bold text when first clicking Bookmarks you are where you need to be. The first link on here will be Favourites and have a star icon right next to it, click on Favourites and you will see what has been added to your Favourites folder - if anything.  Also there is an Edit button in the bottom right of this screen, if you aren't going where you expected when selecting a URL in here press Edit, press the > arrow to the right of the favourite name, is the URL correct? If not change it, and click DONE on the keyboard - appears where Return key normally shows on the right-hand side.
If you are opening Safari and have no tabs already open or have already closed pages so none are open you will see icons that represent the contents of your Favourites folder displayed at the top of the page.
Also with a page loaded if you click in to the URL field then you will see these icons appear again, together with the keyboard at the bottom of the page.
    Hope this helps.
