How many Transparent tables..?

Hi ,
How to get the following details
1.    How many transparent tables approx hold by NGN in PRD?
2.    What is the size of DBTABLOG table in PRD?
Regards,
Ravi

Hello,
I managed to dig up SE11 ABAP program and find this, honestly this was interesting for me too.
To list the different types of tables you have, you need to check this.
Login at the operating system level using ora<sid> as the userid.
And then run the command:
sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
Once you are on sqlplus, this should do the trick.
First find the different types of tables your SAP System can have using the followin sql query.
SQL> select distinct tabclass from sapngn.dd02v;
TABCLASS
APPEND
CLUSTER
INTTAB
POOL
TRANSP
VIEW
6 rows selected.
Once that is done, you now simply count the type of table you want to count by this sql query:
SQL> select count(tabclass) from sapngn.dd02v where tabclass='TRANSP';
COUNT(TABCLASS)
          77215
SQL>
Hope that helps.

Siddhesh

    Hi,
    As the previous comment says, CE1XXXX, CE2XXXX, CE3XXXX and CE4XXXX are created. But this is if you are using Costing-based profitability analysis, However, if you're using account-base PA then no tables are created and CPEP, COSP, COSS and other standard CO tables are used.

  • How many new tables we can create in available memory?

    Hi Friends,
    First of all i am not tech Guy.
    i am SD functional Person.
    I would like to know is there any constraint to create n number of Ztables?
    Is the memory space belongs to tables is same as the data storage memory?
    if both memories are seperate?
    How much space we will have normally?
    How much space a normal table (3coloumns, 500rows) occupies?
    Regards
    Pardha Saradhi B

    Hi,
    There is no such limitation For Creation Of Ztable.
    Regarding Memory it depends on Server.
    There is initial Size Definded for a table in The Table Attributes ,
    if that size reached then again same Size of memory is assigned for that particular table by system.
    For a normal table memory depends its SIZE-Category attributes in The Technical Settings of the table..

  • How many fact tables?

    Hey Folks!
    In our current project we design a star-based data model for our data warehouse.
    We have a discussion about the fact table(s). The question is if we need one or two fact tables?
    There are facts which represent amounts for a special dimension (week).
    And there are facts which represent amounts over a time period (accumulate over many weeks).
    Can we put these two types of amount together in one fact table?
    Is there documentation available which describe design rules for fact tables?
    Thanks for your help, and a nice weekend!

  • How many SECONDARY INDEXES are created for CLUSTER TABLES?

    how many SECONDARY INDEXES are created for CLUSTER TABLES?
    please explain.

    There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding here. You cannot create a secondary index on a cluster table. A cluster table does not exist as a separate physical table in the database; it is part of a "physical cluster". In the case of BSEG for instance, the physical cluster is RFBLG. The only fields of the cluster table that also exist as fields of the physical cluster are the leading fields of the primary key. Taking again BSEG as the example, the primary key includes the fields MANDT, BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR, BUZEI. If you look at the structure of the RFBLG table, you will see that it has primary key fields MANDT, BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR, PAGENO. The first four fields are those that all cluster tables inside BSEG have in common. The fifth field, PAGENO, is a "technical" field giving the sequence number of the current record in the series of cluster records sharing the same primary key.
    All the "functional" fields of the cluster table (for BSEG this is field BUZEI and everything beyond that) exist only inside a raw binary object. The database does not know about these fields, it only sees the raw object (the field VARDATA of the physical cluster). Since the field does not exist in the database, it is impossible to create a secondary index on it. If you try to create a secondary index on a cluster table in transaction SE11, you will therefore rightly get the error "Index maintenance only possible for transparent tables".
    Theoretically you could get around this by converting the cluster table to a transparent table. You can do this in the SAP dictionary. However, in practice this is almost never a good solution. The table becomes much larger (clusters are compressed) and you lose the advantage that related records are stored close to each other (the main reason for having cluster tables in the first place). Apart from the performance and disk space hit, converting a big cluster table like BSEG to transparent would take extremely long.
    In cases where "indexing" of fields of a cluster table is worthwhile, SAP has constructed "indexing tables" around the cluster. For example, around BSEG there are transparent tables like BSIS, BSAS, etc. Other clusters normally do not have this, but that simply means there is no reason for having it. I have worked with the SAP dictionary for over 12 years and I have never met a single case where it was necessary to convert a cluster to transparent.
    If you try to select on specific values of a non-transparent field in a cluster without also specifying selections for the primary key, then the database will have to do a serial read of the whole physical cluster (and the ABAP DB interface will have to decompress every single record to extract the fields). The performance of that is monstrous -- maybe that was the reason of your question. However, the solution then is (in the case of BSEG) to query via one of the index tables (where you are free to create secondary indexes since those tables are transparent).

  • At max how many columns is advisable to create in a table/view

    Hi All,
    I have two transaction table from which i want to create a simple view or materialized view. But the number of columns is about 200. So i want to know at max how many columns is advisable from the performance point of view.
    Even though i will create 200 columns in a view , for a perticular client installation i may not use all the columns.
    one more thing i will never use 200 columns in the select statement . At a time i will use only 4/5 columns.
    It may happen from this four column one column will be the 1st and 2nd column will be the 200th one.
    I want to know how it affects the performance and in which scenario . Please help if any body knows or already faced this kind of scenario.
    I am using oracle 10g .

    thanks for ur reply .
    We are going to use this view in a report , so if i will create it as simple view it will affect report performance. because the view script is too long ...so every time quring to a view will decrease the performance.
    Are you asking me if it will? I think it probably won't but of course you have the means to test it to be sure, right?
    As u said MV should be done with minimum possible column . what can be the maximum column in MV ..??It would be defined by the limits on:
    * The maximum number of columns that a table can contain
    * The size of the query needed to define the select statement
    * Limitations on queries needed to maintain the data

  • How can I modify data from a Transparent Table without ABAP code.

    Hi,All
    How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR),  and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
    I had fond that there is a way can do that:
    1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
    2, type '/h' and let debugging on
    3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
    4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
    and, My system is ECC6.

    Hello,
    Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work.  However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT.  This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment.  Vijay's other comment is true as well.  This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment.  The auditors will not be impressed.
    Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

  • Is there an easy way to see how many rows in a table? (selected or unselected)

    Hi all,
    Forgive me if this is a REALLY dumb question but I would love to know if there there is an easy way to to see how many rows there are in a table in InDesign?
    (And I bet I am really going to kick myself when I hear the answer and how simple it probably is..lol !)
    I am working on a huge catalog and am dealing with LOTS of tables...very long tables too at times. I am also doing a lot of copying and pasting back and forth between InDesign and Excel and it would REALLY help if I knew how many rows there are in a table without having to manually count them (TIRESOME!!).
    Also, is there a way to see how many rows I have selected at any one time? It would be SO WONDERFUL if the info box could also provide this information.
    Thank you SO MUCH in advance for your help:))
    Christine
    **UPDATE**
    Oh boy I AM going to kick myself! Why only NOW that I wrote this question did I suddenly notice that the Table palette shows the number of rows and columns? lol.
    Okay, then is there a way to see how many rows I have selected at any given time?

    @Christine – try the following ExtendScript (JavaScript):
    if(app.selection.length === 0
        || !app.selection[0].constructor.name === "Cell"
        || !app.selection[0].constructor.name === "Table"){
        exit(0);
    var sel = app.selection[0];
    if(sel.constructor.name === "Cell"){
        var tableRowLength = sel.parent.rows.everyItem().getElements().length;
    if(sel.constructor.name === "Table"){
        alert("All "+sel.rows.everyItem().getElements().length+" rows selected in current table." );
        exit(0);
    var numberOfRowsSelected = sel.rows.length;
    var indexOfSelectedRows = sel.rows.everyItem().index;
    var startRowSel = indexOfSelectedRows[0]+1;
    var endRowSel = indexOfSelectedRows.length+indexOfSelectedRows[0];
    alert(numberOfRowsSelected +" row(s) selected.\r"+startRowSel+" to "+endRowSel+" out of "+tableRowLength+" of current table.");
    You need not select whole rows, just one or a couple of cells.
    Then run the script.
    An alert message is telling you how many rows belong to the cell range you have selected and:
    which rows of the table are selected…
    A typical message would be:
    6 row(s) selected.
    3 to 8 out of 20 of current table.
    The script does some basic checks of the selection.
    If no cell or table is selected, it will just do nothing…

  • How to interpret a formula stored in a transparent table

    Dear all,
    I have filled in a specific transparent table with some formula. I would like to read the table, find the formula and take the result of this formula in a variable
    In my table :
    Country, formula 1, formula 2
    FR, P + 1 ( 1 / 80 ), R * 1 ( 1 - 30 )
    In my program,
    I read the table with the country as key, and I would like, first to replace the P and R by a value in the program, and I would like  to interpret the formula and put the result of this in a variable
    if Country = FR
    replace P by w_price in formula1
    replace R by w_tva in formula2
    w_result1 = formula1
    w_result2 = formula2
    I don't know how to do interpret these 2 statement like :
    w_result1 = w_price + 11 ( 1 / 80 )
    w_result2 = w_tva  * 1 ( 1 - 30 )
    I tought to use the field symbol and assign but w/o success for the moment
    Can anybody help me ? it is very important.
    Thanks
    Kind regards
    Véronique

    Hello,
    I think my questions was not so clear.
    In fact, the formula is in a field in a transparent table
    for example : my_table has a field my_formula. In this field I have written:   P + 1 ( 1 / 80 )
    I need to interpret the content of the field my_formula to solve the formula and put the result in a variable.
    I don't want to write the formula directly in the program
    thanks

  • How many tables are in my database

    I wanted to check how many tables I have so I ran the following query to list all of the tables in all of the tablespaces.
    select t.table_name, df_name from dba_tables t, v$tablespace df
    where t.tablespace_name = df.name;
    I got back 34377 tables or records.
    but if I wanted to count the number of tables I have I could run the following command.
    SQL> select count(*) from dba_tables;
    I got back 34700 tables.
    Can anyone tell me why these numbers don't match or what I am missing here?

    Also you can try to count them regarding to your tablespace which is better
    SELECT COUNT(*),tablespace_name  FROM USER_TABLES group by tablespace_name;also Laurent Schnieder provide with way that you count your tables in specific schema like the following :
    SQL> select
      2    table_name,
      3    to_number(
      4      extractvalue(
      5        xmltype(
      6     dbms_xmlgen.getxml('select count(*) c from '||table_name))
      7        ,'/ROWSET/ROW/C')) count
      8  from user_tables;http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_count_tables_schema.htm
