    The App store app is a built in app and cannot be deleted. Try:
    Check settings to see if restrictions are turned on and/or if Installing apps is turned off (Settings app > General > Restrictions)
    Check all of your home screen (by swiping left to right), and folders to see if was inserted into one. (you can also use Spotlight search which will tell you if it is in a folder. Swipe down on the Home screen and type in "app Store")

  • How to get back to the calling application ?

    Hi Friends ,
                I am having a BSP application which is being called from different Planning layouts in BPS .
      Its a stateful application and I am finding that when i hit standard browser Back button i am returning to my application again .
      I tried creating a button and passing the javascript method history.back()
    <htmlb:button id       = "BACK"
                                onClick  = "BACK"
                                text     = "BACK"
                                tooltip  = "Back"
                           disabled = "<%= v_save_disable %>"
                           onClientClick="history.back();"
                                width    = "15" />
    it is notworking.
    Please let me know how can i resolve the issue ? I have another idea to divert the user to the calling application using URL but dont know how to capture the URL of calling application ?
    i appreciate your contribution in advance.

    <i>It generates a BSP in which i am adding a URL link to call my application.</i>
    while adding the url add a parameter to it masterdatabsp.htm?frompage=<currentpagename>
    (runtime->PAGE_NAME will return current page name)
    and in the master data maintenance bsp page declare a page attribute and name it frompage type string and check the auto check box.
    now within your masterdatamanintenance bsp you will have the calling page name.
    Hope this is clear. if not do getback.

  • Can a standard user install applications?

    I've been told that when a standard user installs applications, he must provide a admin user name and password, which presesumably he wouldn't have.  If the admin user is standing near and does provide that info, then great, a standard user is able to then install the application, right?
    My real question: Would that application be available to all of the users on that mac or just to the standard user?  My research has lead me to contradictory answers and a fundamental, lingering question:  If the admin account's user name and password were provided when logged into the standard account, shouldn't that application behave the same as an app that was installed when logged into the admin acccount?  And, if that's true, isn't the purpose of a standard account somewhat less valuable than we think?  Any insight would be of much help, thanks!

    To install an app on a standard user, you need an administrator user name and password. If not, it won't work.
    When you install an app, it's installed by default in /Applications, a folder where all users can access, so your apps are available for all users. However, most of the users have got an Applications folder inside their user folder (~/Applications), so you can put here the apps you want to use only with one user account. You can choose where you want to put your applications, depending on with what users you want to use the application

  • Can standard users install applications to their local home directory?

    I want to setup multiple user accounts on my machine. I've been doing some tests and it looks like when you try to install an application from the App Store it requires an admin user name and password, and then the App Store installs the application to the '/Application' directory.
    Is it possible?
    (1) To set up the system in a why that all users install their applications to '~/Applications' (their home directory) without the need for admin passwords.
    (2) If an admin user wants to give access to a application to everyone on the system it is installed to '/Applications'
    Thanks in advance.

    The default installation is in the main Apps folder. This can't be changed. If you want an app in the user account Apps folder, the user should drag it to that folder when installation is complete.

  • I-Pod Touch 8GB Will not Run User-Installed Applications

    Now, this isn't really a question as I have solved it myself but I am simply curious as to the cause (and probably to help others who may have had the same issue as I didn't see this type of question floating around already)
    I got an I-Pod Touch Brand-new from the box two days ago, was running perfectly fine with the few applications I had installed on it. Just today I ran "PDF Viewer Lite" from the App Store, did as it should but however a couple of minutes later any other applications (including PDF Viewer Lite) would not run. I confirmed they were running in the background -- applications like ICQ or AIM were still displaying notifications to messages but would not display themselves when clicked as they would simply show their main screen for less than a second and boot me back to the main menu. Hard resets did not work (HOME button at bottom + power button on top being held), and even a restoration from backup had failed. Before I restored the I-Pod to its factory settings, I reinstalled the offending program, PDF Viewer Lite and automagically, it, along with everything else, decided to work as they should.
    So my real question is, what could have caused it? I've used PDF Viewer Lite just yesterday and it didn't lock up all of my applications on my I-Pod. I'd like to know what caused it so I can avoid it in the future -- as I'm not always connected to a WiFi network to reinstall that application.

    The same thing happened to my daughter on her Mac the other day. It turned out that the program she'd downloaded wasn't compatible with her OS. Did you make sure you'd downloaded a version that is compatible with Tiger?

  • How to reinstall OS without losing installed applications

    Hi folks,
    Question for you about software installations and if they can be backed up to overcome the need to reinstall them when reinstalling the MacBook's OS.
    I have a newish (bought last Autumn) 15" 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.5 which I spent a terrible time installing my beloved (but dead) 13" MacBook Pro's "brain" to.  I did everything wrong and have actually got two OSXes (the original preinstalled Mavericks and the copied-over Snow Leopard)  Of course since I had been running my equally beloved and neolithic Snow Leopard on it there were issues with the versions of expensive software which suddenly couldn't run/be installed.
    And after another heart-stopping round of purchases, this time of the minimum versions to run on my new MacBook Pro which included Final Cut Pro 7 (I had used FCPro 6 till then) and Photoshop CS3 (I was off the charts with my version- but it was mine, I paid for it!) and second-hand (since new was no longer available in the versions I could afford) I ran into the awkward problem of not being able to install Photoshop CS3 because although I had the original disk and the real serial number from the vendor, they'd not deregistered it.
    Fortunately I was able to get a bypass from customer support at Adobe (because everything was kosher- just so ancient) BUT it means that I have to keep this installations of it or lose it (and probably have to prove myself all over again.  It took days and many hours on chat and the phone to get them to tell me what proof they needed and what could be done and how that I cannot go through this again and keep my sanity).
    And now to my present day issue-  the MacBook Pro is not stable and there is a weird pop-up asking me to complete the installation for "Application" and I am concerned that it is somehow a bug.  There are freezes and crashes I have never encountered before and today I even had to force shutdown of the Finder, something I have never ever had to do with any of my previous 13 Macs.  Photoshop's Bridge causes crashes, Final Cut Pro 7, though massively improved speed-wise, can be "skittish".  iTunes behaves weird and my iPhone being plugged in can do very odd things whenever an otherwise OK cable is used.  Hard drives sometimes refuse to be ejected for no reason whatsoever.
    What I would like to do is to start over with a fresh install but to ALSO save my current installation of Final Cut Pro and Photoshop, the two bits of software which I need to have and which I worry about losing installable copies of.
    Bottom line:  can this be done, ie can I selectively back up not just data but ALSO software installations?
    If not-  is there a way to make the MacBook Pro "happy" once more without doing a complete reinstall?  It was reasonably OK with having renamed the imported/copied version to User1 and having placed itself into hiatus so it might not be that?

    Clayton,
    Spend the £20 it will cost you to get a new internal DVD drive, preferably one that the Mac OS supports and that you can burn CD / DVD on.
    The pain and suffering this will save you over the lifetime of the G4 tower is worth it, believe me.

  • How not to notify a user when the task is cancel

    Hi,
    I have this workflow in GP,
    Apply Timeoff --> Recommend Timeoff --> Approved Timeoff
    Where Applicant can apply for Timeoff (via ApplyTimeoff block), RecommendingOfficer can "Recommend" or "Reject" timeoff (via the RecommendTimeoff block), and finally the Approving Officer can "Approved" or "Reject" the recommendation (via the ApprovedTimeoff block)
    The GP is configured in such that the ApplyTimeOff block have successful result state Target to RecommendTimeoff block. In the RecommendTimeoff block, it has the successful result state, targets to the ApprovedTimeoff block whereas the unsuccessful result state target to Terminate. Likewise for the ApprovedTimeoff block, it has both the successful and unsuccessful result state target to Terminate.
    Those roles are in GP and they are map to the EP Group respectively. And in each group, there are EP users tag to it.
    During Application of the ApplyTimeoff, I have a drop down list of RecommendingOfficer which I can select in WD UI. And Once I selected the particular person from the list, the request will route to the RecommendingOfficer as a pending task in the GP Runtime. From here, that selected person from that Recommending Officer can "Recommend" or "Reject" the request.
    When that person from the RecommendingOfficer approved, the request will route again and this time to the Approving Officer.
    However, when the reject the request, the task will also be route to the Approving officer.
    How do I configured in such as way that when the recommending Officer reject, it request will not be route to the Approving Officer as a pending task?
    can help? Thank you.
    thank you.

    Let occasional users log in as guests
    A guest user account lets others use your Mac without setting up a full account or using someone else’s. You can use parental controls to limit guests’ activities, and specify which folders they can view.   [by default, they cannot see any other users' files]
    In Users & Groups preferences, select Guest User in the list of accounts.
    Select “Allow guests to log in to this computer.”
    If you like, select “Enable parental controls,” then click Open Parental Controls. For details about the limits you can set, see:Set up parental controls
    To let guests use your shared folders from another computer on the network, select “Allow guests to connect to shared folders.”
    When guests log in, they don’t need a password.
    ... and anything created while logged in as Guest is deleted when you log out.

  • How not to be prompted to install products that I don't use

    I use icloud for apple, but I don't want to use it for Windows.  During my last update, it kept asking me to install icloud for Windows.  I don't want to be asked because I may accidentally install it.  Thus, I would like an option to notify me, but allow me to reject all updates that are not real updates - I don't use icloud for windows.  It almost seems fraudulent that Apple will try to install an "update" for something that I don't have.
    Thanks!

    I think I know what you are asking. You want to change all the Apple ID passwords you have for your apps  to a common password for the purpose of updating them? If that's correct, I refer you to: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787.
    This page has useful Apple links on dealing with Apple IDs for iTunes and the AppStore. These two essentially use the same credentials.
    Last year my AppleID was hosed and I went to that page and sorted it out.

  • How to log out all users from Application to switch partitions?

    Hi,
    We currently use a maxl script to switch over active partitions and as you may know, users need to be logged out when this happens. The current script we use is:
    alter system logout session on application ABANSWER force;
    alter system kill request on application $4;
    alter system kill request on application FCSTA3;
    alter system kill request on application FCSTA4;
    alter system kill request on application HISTA;
    alter system kill request on application ABANSWER;
    drop transparent partition ABANSWER.REPORT from $4.$2;
    Quite often we seem to get the issue that some user can't be logged out because they are running something intensive and this causes the partition switch to fail.
    Does anyone know a better way to do log out the users or kill the sessions so we can reliably switch the partitions? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Arfan

    that means that the app was purchased under that seperate apple id. u will need to delete the app and redownload it using the yahoo one if u want to be able to update it.

  • How to recognize if application is installed using "Install Application on Remote Desktop" option on Windows Server 2008 R2

    How to recognize if application is installed using "Install application on remote desktop..." option in Control Panel in Windows Server 2008 R2?
    Basically, as administrator, I can't say if the user installed application using "Install application on remote desktop..." in Control Panel or he just installed it by clicking the .msi executable. I can't find anything that makes any difference.
    I could not find anything in the registry. I am quite confused.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Please make sure that you are using category view of control panel-programs to check the application. And in addition to “install application on Remote Desktop server” user can also use command line also.
    change user /install
    change user /execute
    change user /query
    “The first time you run the application, it searches the home directory for its .ini files. If the .ini files are not found in the home directory, but are found in the system directory, Terminal Services copies the .ini files to the home directory, ensuring
    that each user has a unique copy of the application .ini files. Each user should have a unique copy of the .ini files for an application. This prevents instances where different users might have incompatible application configurations.” (Quoted formthis
    article).
    Hope it helps!

  • Back ground user

    All,
    How to trace back gorund user?

    ST05 you can trace SQL-statements and get expainings how these statements are being worked upon by the database. this is more a tool for investigating the performance of abaps on your 'special' database.
    since you posted your request in the security forum i will assume that you want to do an authority trace. use tx. ST01 instead of ST05. Set the filter options to the program and/or user you want to trace and flag the areas you want traced like 'authority check' 'database access' 'kernel commands' ...
    activate the trace using the matchlight-icon. run the background job to be traced. stop the trace after a sufficient time (or until the job hits the error you want to investigate). then press 'evaluation' and check the boxes for the lines to be displayed again ...
    if both my answers don't fit to your problem come back here and state a bit more precisely what your problem is, maybe we find another approach to it.
