How pass information between different Form

Hi all,
I have the following situation for the moment in my little project in Scout with Luna:
I have a main form that I use for different search in two different DB Oracle to compare the value and a second one where the users can modify the configuration, for example the DB connection info, etc.
The main form obviously depends directly from the information defined in the second one.
Now my problem is: find the better way to pass the information from the configuration form to the main form.
I hope I was clear in my request.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You don't specify exactly what your setup is, but if your main form is creating and showing the second form, it should be fairly easy to make the second form's formData available to the main form:
// some (incomplete) code snippets
class MainForm extends AbstractForm {
SecondFormData secondFormData = null;
public void showSecondForm() {
SecondForm form = new SecondForm();
form.startNew();
form.waitFor();
secondFormData = form.getFormData();
// from now on, the last state of SecondForm is available in main form
If this is not what you wanted to know, you'll need to be a bit clearer in what it is that you want to achieve.

  • Performace tuning: how to pass data between different batch job programs?

    Hi everyone,
        now i have one problem about performance tuning using threading in SAP programs: split one big program into two programs - one is main program and the other is sub program. using batch jobs, we can submit multi jobs of sub program at the same time.
        does anybody know how to pass data between different batch jobs? I don't want to use temp files. can ABAP memory can implement this?
        thanks!

    Wei,
    Yes we can transfer the data by using
    SAP Memory OR ABAP Memory.
    Ex:  V_count TYPE i.
      V_count = 100.
    LOOP AT  itab.
    IF v_count EQ 25.
    Here For every batch job
      EXPORT data TO MEMORY ID 'ABC'
       Function module
        JOB_OPEN
       JOB_SUBMIT
       JOB_CLOSE.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP .
    IN your 2nd program.
    INITIALIZATION.
    IMPORT data FROM MEMORY IF 'ABC'.
    FREE memory if .---When you free the memory you will get recent data.
    Don't forget to reward if useful.

  • How to pass Parameters between two forms

    im trying to do this but i could not find any way for this.
    can any one help me how can i pass parameters between two forms
    in forms4.5. any help will be appreciated
    thanks.

    Global variables can be used, but you can do what the online help
    says ...
    Parameters are passed to called forms by means of a parameter
    list. A parameter list is a named programmatic construct that is
    simply a list of parameter names (called keys) and their values.
    You can pass parameter values to forms invoked by the built-in
    subprograms CALL_FORM, OPEN_FORM, and NEW_FORM. In addition, you
    can pass parameter values to other Oracle tools with the
    RUN_PRODUCT procedure.
    A parameter you include in a parameter list can be either a text
    parameter or a data parameter. The parameter type determines how
    its value is interpreted.
    Text Parameters The value of a text parameter being passed to a
    called product is a CHAR string that can represent the following:
    n a user-defined form parameter defined in a form invoked
    by the CALL_FORM, OPEN_FORM, or NEW_FORM built-in subprograms
    n a command line or user-defined parameter for a product
    invoked with the RUN_PRODUCT built-in subprogram
    Data Parameters The value of a data parameter being passed to a
    called product is always the name of a record group defined in
    the current form. (A record group is a data structure that
    stores records derived from a query or through programmatic
    assignment.) Data parameters are used to pass data to products
    invoked with the RUN_PRODUCT built-in subprogram. You cannot
    pass data parameters to forms.
    The following table shows the structure of a parameter list that
    contains four parameters:
    Key Paramtype Value
    CITY Text_Parameter 'BOGOTA'
    CATEGORY Text_Parameter 'EXPORTS'
    MULTIPLIER Text_Parameter '.0275'
    NEW_DATA Data_Parameter 'RECORD_GROUP8'

  • How can pass information between 2 par file in iView???

    Hello,using PDK i've have created an iview calling 2 .par file, the first par file contains a menu that the user selects a products and then when press load button generates a table with information. The table with information is generated in second .par file, that collects the information passed by the menu (through beans) and with a BAPI generates the table. I made it because the menu must be separated in one frame, and the table in other...(and the first frame must displace, how a html frame)
    The question, how can pass information between two par files or if are another method to made 2 frames????

  • How to pass value between two forms.

    Hi all,
    how to pass value between two forms(using :parameter),...
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    To use parameters, create a parameterlist with the named parameters
    DECLARE
      pl_id PARAMLIST;
      pl_name VARCHAR2(10) := 'tempdata';
    BEGIN
      pl_id := Get_Parameter_List(pl_name);
      IF not Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
        DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST(pl_id);
      END IF;
      pl_id := Create_Parameter_List(pl_name);
      ADD_PARAMETER (pl_id,'MYPARAMETER',TEXT_PARAMETER,:BLOCK.VALUE);
      CALL_FORM('MYNEWFORM', NO_HIDE, DO_REPLACE, NO_QUERY_ONLY, pl_id);
    END;In the new form you can then just access the parameters via :PARAMETER.MYPARAMETER;
    An alternative is the usage of globals:
    :GLOBAL.MYPARAM:=:BLOCK.VALUE;
    -- call the emp-form
    CALL_FORM('MYNEWFORM', NO_HIDE, DO_REPLACE);and in the new form use:
    DEFAULT_VALUE(NULL, 'GLOBAL.MYPARAM');
    IF :GLOBAL.MYPARAM IS NOT NULL THEN
    ...The advantage of gloabls is that they can also return values back to the calling form, which is not possible using parameters

  • Pass data between InfoPath forms in SharePoint

    Hello!
    Maybe someone has ideas about the next issue: how to make pass data between InfoPath forms in SharePoint, like it is shown in a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nGl-Se2cOQ
    I've read similar topics, but still can't find solution.
    Thank you.

    When you go to modify the submit connection, you can specify whether or not to overwrite, as well as a default title value. If you use the now() function in the title, it should never have the same name.

  • Pass values between different frames

    Dear Friends from Adobe.
    I need a lot of help from you.
    I have a project with Flash Action Script 2.0 and would like
    to know if you have to pass values between different frames.
    Example:
    Passing a value of a inputbox the frame 1 for a inputbox in
    frame 2.
    OBS: If possible could pass the solution through e-mail?
    Now, very grateful.
    Diogo Areas.

    Using AS2 you can either name the input textfield instance on
    the stage or, you can name the variable property of the input
    textfield. You can name either of these from the Property Inspector
    window. Once named, you can then have access to the value of the
    text that is entered. It will be either instanceName.text or
    variableName.
    The scope of either of these values lasts only as long as the
    textfield instance exists. So, if the first textfield is in frame
    7, for instance, and is only in frame 7, and you want to use the
    value in another frame, say frame 20, then you'll have to store the
    value outside of the textfield for later use. You can do this by
    creating a variable in the first frame of the movie, and then
    placing the text from the textfield in frame 7 into that variable.
    Then at frame 20, you can retreive that value and use it in the
    textfield in frame 20.
    Alternately, you can continue the instance of the textfield
    in frame 7 out through frame 20. The content will continue to be
    available. You can add keyframes to the layer that the textfield is
    in at frame 7, and move the object off the visible area of the
    stage, so that it won't be seen, if you like.

  • Forms6i- how do i pass values between two forms

    Forms6i- passing values between forms
    I have two forms. FORM1 does a call_form to FORM2.
    How do i send values from FORM1 over to FORM2?
    I want the 2 values in FORM1 to be passed top FORM2 and displayed as a TEXT ITEM.
    But i don't know what is involved in passign vales between forms.

    Define Parameters in Form2, and pass parameters with the same name from Forms1 with the parameter list option of your call_form built-in.
    It is in the online help.

  • Best way to share information between different instances of a web part

    Hello,
    I'm developing a web part that will make changes to a A.D. OU. I don't want to grant the application user rights to the OU and I would like to store the information inside the web part, but dynamically, something like:
    static string username="";
    static string password = "";
    static string OU = "";
    So, when the web part find these strings empty ( for ex after IIS restart) , it would ask for username/password and store them at the static strings. Someone (the administrator?) would fetch the page (with the webpart) and fill the strings. The next user
    that will come to the page, he shouldn't  be asked for filling up the username/password.
    So, I need to share information between instances of the same web part. Can it be done with static variables? Is there any other better solution?
    Will this work with the same web part in 2-3-4 pages?
    Thank you
    Christos

    Hi Xristosk,
    From a security perspective and also in the interest of making the solution more robust (e.g. I don't think the admin is going to be too happy if he needs to enter in a username/password pair each time an IISReset happens, or the web server dies) what I'd
    suggest (and typically do) is to separate the request from the actual performing of the work.
    E.g. Keep the username/password pairs out of the web part configuration completely, and instead just make the web part be a form that submits to a list (or db) for the required change.
    Then you can have a separate process (e.g. timer job or windows scheduled task) that has permission to read from the SharePoint list, and also has permission to write into the AD OU.  In terms of storing usernames/passwords - typically you'll want to
    avoid doing this.  If you have to then you can consider the Secure Store Service (preferred).  What I'd be most inclined to do is not store any password at all, and instead make sure that the account that the timer job or the scheduled task runs
    as has appropriate permission to write into AD.
    To answer the last part of your request, because the actual request is separated from the 'doing of the work' then this approach will work fine with 1,2,3,4, n pages.
    HTH
    -Michael.

  • Messages between different form sessions

    Hello,
    I'd like to know if there is any way to send messages between different oracle forms sessions.
    Thanks.

    I use dbms_alert extensively to do this. Alerts can be named so that a particular forms session only receives the messages it wants. The form signifies which alerts it wants to receive by calling dbms_alert.register. The form has repeating timer which calls dbms_alert.waitone.
    The message sender uses dbms_alert.signal. Note that for forms applications, calls to dbms_alert.waitone should normally be given a zero timeout. This allows all of the 'waiting' to be done by the forms timer so normal forms operation is not affected during the wait. dbms_alert.waitone will detect any alerts signalled since the last register or waitone.

  • Passing information between class

    Greetings Fellow Developers,
    I have what I believe to be a simple question but my brain is only thinking in procedural at the moment so I'm in a bit of a fix.
    I'm working on a midlet and creating an message book application
    I must pass informatin class mesaj to JSMS
    public class mesaj extends DisplayTextBox{
          private static String mes="";
        public mesaj() {
            super("mesajınız",TextField.ANY);
       public  void setMesaj(){
            mes=getString();
        public static String getMesaj(){
            setMesaj();//there is problem with use static method
            return mes;
    public class JSMS extends MIDlet implements CommandListener{
       public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) {
             if(c==add){
                AddRecord(mesaj.getMesaj);
    }I have a problem using getMesaj method...
    can I passed information without non-static method
    thanx
    muratti32

    Hi,
    I think that your set and get methods are a bit wrong. Maybe they should be like this
    public void setMesaj(String m)
      mes = m;
    public static String getMesaj()
      return mes;
    }if you don't want to make static methods, you'll have to make an instance of the class, which methods you want to call.
    public class JSMS extends MIDlet implements CommandListener{
    private mesaj m = new mesaj();
       public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) {
             if(c==add){
                AddRecord(m.getMesaj);

  • Pass information between dom0 & domU thanks to web service API

    I have to build automation API in Java programming language for application deployment on virtualized infrastructures. Is there any way to pass information to application running inside the deployed virtual machine and to notify the host about some application's states? Everything using only the Webservice API...
    The principal examples I can give:
    For VMware (Virtual Infrastructure compliant products) & Virtualbox infrastructures, WS API give use the capability to set variables to retrieve them thanks to the guest tools ( vmware-guestd & VBoxControl )...
    For XenServer and Hyper-V, the only way we found to get that done is to directly write the variables in a part of the virtual machine configuration. Then, from the virtual machine, we need to connect to the XenServer/Hyper-V, identify the virtual machine which is currently running our application, and use it to retrieve the application configuration... The problem with the later is that we have to "hard write" the authentication information in the virtual machine, and to find a way to determine in which virtual machine the application is running ( this is done so far using NIC Mac address ).
    Because of the "light" documentation, i don't know if such a thing is possible for OVM manager...

    My mistake...
    on [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11081_01/doc/web.21/e14979/toc.htm|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11081_01/doc/web.21/e14979/toc.htm] , the method
    void      createPropertiesFileOnVirtualMachine(java.util.Properties props, VirtualMachine vm, java.lang.String propFileName)seems to do what I need...
    Now, because my test environment only allow PV Guests, I'd like to know if that also work for HW Guests?
