HOW SERVLET CAN PING EJB SERVER

Hello,I am making servlet that should ping the server after every 30 secondes,so
I am interrested in how to configure web.xml, the general configuaration.Or maybe
a small example. If any server configuation have to be done for the pinging. thanks

I don't understand your requirements. servlets are server-side objects
so presumably you're pinging some other server. If you want to do
something every 30 seconds, I would use a timer service.

  • How servlet can execute a command?

    Hi
    I need help on following:
1- How Servlet can execute a command?
2- I that possible a servlet instantiates an applet or frame?
Would apreciate any command(prefered sample code) on this.
    Thanks...Ali

I'm not quite sure what you mean by an applet based application either... . but as I mentioned in the previous post, you could send such a page back to the client that contains an applet tag; which will subsequently display an applet on the client machiene.... and applets can comunicate to any and all servlets residing on the machiene from where they were downloaded with out any problem....
    Have a look into Http-tunneling....
    hope this helps

How many concurrent users can be served by one EJB server? After which point claster of servers should be created?

Real numbers from working application are very welcome.

Specify the application server name, people would help if you tell the app server name.

If you are running application on client server create a batch file which pings the ip address and redirects the output to a text file.
Call this batch file using the HOST and read it using text io.
If you are running on web use the webutil client host to call the batch file and read the contents using the text io
    eg ...
    ping web.alexyscorp.com >abc.txt

  • How integrate JAAS with EJB Server?

I want to use JAAS to create a security Handler for an open source EJB Server. Does anyone have some suggestions on how best to integrate this with EJB's (using EJB 1.1 for now)?
Any ideas, or problems you might see, or things to be careful of are all welcome!

Weblogic 6 actually provides this as an example. They use JAAS login modules for authentication purposes. I don't think this integration is too difficult. In integrating authorization I believe they just delegate to one of their security realms.

  • How JavaFX can communicate with server?

What is about communications with server from my JavaFX applet? Nowhere here found any of turorial or info how to support this thing. I need to develope web application, where my javaFX web app will not only makes different animations but should communicate with server very much. What approach to use in this case? Will we see here good example of how this could be managed? For now I see only client side stand-alone application.

There are examples of JavaFX programs using Web services in the mentioned samples. For example [LocalSearch: Location-Based Coffee Shop Search With Yahoo Webservices|http://www.javafx.com/samples/LocalSearch/index.html], [Shopping Service: Accessing Yahoo's Shopping API from JavaFX|http://www.javafx.com/samples/ShoppingService/index.html], [Weather Widget: Getting Weather Forecast from Yahoo!|http://www.javafx.com/samples/WeatherWidget/index.html], and some others.

  • How I can re-start Server Assistant?

    Hello to all,
I've a MacPro with SnowLeopard Server 10.6.1 with IP 192.168.0.5 set to match a network whit a SonicWall firewall used as router with IP 192.168.0.3.
Now I just purchase the new Airport Extreme to replace the SonicWall and set up it with the same lan (192.168.0.x).
Both (SonicWall and Airport) are used as DHCP server for client in the lan.
The problem is that I cannot (or I'm unable) to set the IP address of the Airport, and it get by default 192.168.0.1 (SonicWall was x.x.x.3) and SLServer doesn't run because before the "router" was "x.x.x.3" and now is "x.x.x.1"
I'm triing to restart Server Assistant but if I choose 192.168.0.5 appears that the server is already configured...
May I re-start Server Assistant for the Server itself (not for remote) so that SLServer will re-set itself about new network router?
    thanks to all for support.

If I use all manually setup, I can put in the router address.
Today, that field is blank, bacause Server assistant has setup it in this way:
IP address 192.168.0.5 (I put it manually)
    Subnet mask (not modificable)
Router (any field or address is displayed)
DNS (set up from server assistant to 127.0.0.1)
The network stack can be modified using System Preferences > Network. The router address should be modifiable. Since this is a server, the configuration option should be static, followed by manually assigned IP, subnet (assumed to be 255.255.255.0), router, DNS, and search domain. If your server is at 192.168.0.5, then define the subnet mask for an assumed class C network (255.255.255.0) and then assign the address of your router, 192.168.0.1.
What if I put 192.168.0.1 manually as router?
    Why it is blank now?
Why Server Assistant didn't assign to it 192.168.0.3 (the address of my actual router)?
Why it had assigned 127.0.0.1 as DNS?
This is the default setup on Snow Server. The server, when setup in absence of a DNS service, will configure DNS internally and then use itself as the reference. 127.0.0.1 is the loop back address. This is the machine referencing itself.
I suppose Server Assistant has done custom setup. So I'd like to restart it and repeate the initial procedure with new router attached.
But you should not need to go through the entire setup again. Just define your networking stack to what you want. If you change your IP or hostname, then you will need to run sudo changeip -checkhostname.

  • Extend Wireless Network using a Telstra technicolor Gateway wireless Router to Airpot extreme but Airport will only except join not extend and I can not get a network on the Airpor Extreme ethernet ports but can ping Airport extreme from Technicolor Rout/

Extend Wireless Network using a Telstra technicolor Gateway wireless Router to Airpot extreme but Airport will only except "join a wireless network (which it does) not "extend a wireless network" (Led turns yellow and I can not get a network working on the Airpor Extreme ethernet ports but can ping Airport extreme from Technicolor Router.
    Airport gets it address DHCP.

Funny how I can ping the Extreme but the Hard Ethernet ports dont seem to work correctly.
When the AirPort Extreme is configured to "Join" a wireless network, the Ethernet ports are not enabled.
Oddly, the AirPort Express has a special feature that will allow it to to "Join" virtually any wireless network.....and the Ethernet port can be enabled. So, an Express would work for your purpose to provide an Ethernet connection to the media player. This assumes that the Express is located where it can receive a strong wireless signal from your main router.
Note that the Express will not provide any additional wireless coverage when it "Joins".

  • Whether java component (Not ejb, not servlet) can be deployed in App Server and get the services provided by App Server

As I mentioned in subject, I am just wondering Whether the java component (Not

    by App Server or not?

Nevermind folks - I got it to work. All my configuration was correct; I had other issues with the ejb-jar file that the verifier informed me of (my previous deployments were with the verifier turned-off).

You need to create separate initialContext to each of the different servers

  • Pinging remote server in servlet

hello guys. i hope one of you can help. I want to ping remote servers from within a servlet. anyone has any idea about how that can be achieved?. i have read that it is impossible to write a pure java application to do that. I am supposed to use java.lang.Runtime but not quite sure how to go about it...
    please help

    Thanks for your suggestions..
Basically, I am tring to ping several streaming servers to determine the time it takes to get a response packet. for more user friendliness, i have decided to do it via a jsp page which connects to a ser vlet. the actual "pingin" code is expected to reside in the servlet.
Sorry for not being clear enough in my previous post. I am not trying to test the availability of a servlet. I just want to ping a remote server and retrieve results from within a servlet and display them on another jsp page..
    thanks

  • DNS Issues - Can ping server name and IPs but not FQDNs.

    Hi All,
Hopefully some one can help me here, I am having an issue where one of my domain attached servers cannot ping any FQDNs in the environment but it can ping the host names and the IPs and look up the host names from a reverse look up.
We have done the following troubleshooting:
    Flushed and registered DNS cache.
Restarted the DNS client and net logon services on the effected server
Preformed standard checks and commands such as:
Checked the event logs and found there were warnings for DNS registration.
Compared the DNS settings in the network adapters across the rest of the servers in the environment and found that they were all the same. DNS Suffixes are added in the correct order and are set to register.
Pinging FQDNs which is not giving any results.
Tracert FQDNs which is also not giving any results.
Nslookup which is querying the DNS server directly and giving results as expected
Ran the command which reported successful: dcdiag /test:registerindns /dnsdomain:sub.domain.net /v
Checked and updated the permissions on DNS for the affected server to give the server full control of its own DNS entry.
Replaced the DNS Client service DLL with one from a server that is working as expected.
Also worth noting is that the affected server (as well as every other server in the environment) has 2 NICs, one that communicates with DNS and AD and the other does not have any DNS IPs set.
Not this is not the first time this happened, a reboot fixed the issue before but it seems to be a reoccurring problem now.
If any one can shed some light on this issue I would be grateful.
    Regards,
    Steve.

    Hi Steve,
First, we should confirm if this issue is caused by DNS.
When you ping the FQDN, does the server show the correct corresponding IP address?
If no, there should be some error messages. If it is possible, please post the screenshot of this issue.
To check the process about how does server resolve the FQDN, please follow the steps below:
clear local DNS cache with command ipconfig /flushdns
    perform the network capture
    ping the specified FQDN
    Check the DNS traffic
To download Network Monitor, please click the link below:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=4865
Besides, have you tried to update the NIC driver to the latest version?
    Best Regards.

  • Can't connect via Screen Share or Web Server, but can ping and ssh

Bit of an odd problem here.
My Mountain Lion Mac Pro (called "Trogdor" for convenience) is connected to my work university network. I can ping it from anywhere-- elsewhere on the network, from home behind a firewall. Can connect over ssh from everywhere. I can also connect to other computers (on the same network or at home behind a firewall) from Trogdor via ssh, Screen Sharing, etc.
But I can't Screen Share into Trogdor, and I can't connect to Trogdor's built-in web server, either system-wide (in /Library/WebServer) or for my username (~/Sites). (I can connect to the web server from Trogdor.)
Note that I can do both of these for other computers on the same network (same subnet, etc), so it's not a network issue. I can't do these from anywhere: same network or from home. I have this problem whether I use Trogdor's hostname or its IP address. (I can look up its hostname using the IP address with the "host" tool in Terminal, and vice versa.)
So it sounds like a port issue, right? Except I don't think I've ever messed with my port settings directly. How do I diagnose the problem? Should I scan my ports? Can I return port settings to default?
    Thanks!

Can you run your servlet on OC4J standalone directly, to narrow down the problem..
    thanks,

A quick way to test would be
    - Assuming you have OC4J standalone installed
    - copy your servlet (HelloWorld.java) file into \default-web-app\WEB-INF\classes
    - compile it
    - run it using the url http://localhost:8888/servlet/HelloWorld
