How stub gets copied in Client machine

Hi,
I'm new to EJB. Tutorial states that stub would be in client side and it would make communication to skeleton which is in EJB server. Could someone pls explain when /how stub gets copied to client machine ?
Thanks.
Patil

When you request a page which contains Java Applet ( which is nothing but as .class file ) it gets transfered from server to the browser and gets executed using Browser's JVM. ( But I dont understand in what why this is related to my original questions )
Thanks.

  • How to get the real client ip from HttpClusterServlet?

    Hi All,

  • How to get remote ejb client working with Weblogic 8.1?

    I have Weblogic 8.1 running on a WinXP box behind my firewall. Port 7001 is open to WL and remote browsers can access the console.
    I have a client machine running WinXP on a different network that is remote to the WL server. It can ping the WL server machine.
    I use JVM 1.4.2_08 on all machines.
    If I put my client machine on the LAN with the WL server, then my EJB test client works fine. If I put the client machine on the remote network then the test client fails with a ClassCastException when trying to do a PortableRemoteObject.narrow on the bean home.
    I had this running fine on JBoss 3.22 using RMI over HTTP. I added an HTTP invoker service to my jboss.xml file. I don't know if something similar is needed on the Weblogic side - any ideas on that? All I've done on the WL side is turn on Tunneling - which obviously works because the remote client gets a correct home object when doing a lookup on the bean - based on the IOR string of the home obj.
    Below I include my client code, exception, ejb-jar.xml and my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
    Any ideas on what else needs to be done so that a remote client can do a PortableRemoteObject.narrow? My client.jar has all of the EJB classes, and runs fine when run from LAN.
    Thanks,

    Problem solved.
    For remote clients you need to generate and use the stub classes for EJB interfaces using Weblogic's appc utility.

  • How to get the OPC Client (VC++ example program) to work? Having DataSocket problems...

    I'm trying to get our custom software (written in C++ by someone else) to talk with a NI FieldPoint device. The device works fine, and can communicate perfectly with the FieldPoint Explorer.
    Our software uses the ComponentWorks DataSocket ActiveX control (cwds.ocx) to talk with an OPC Server which in turn communicates with the FieldPoint device. (I think this is what happens, but my detective work is far from complete). The call to Create the datasocket results in an error:
    Can't connect to URL step 4 (0x800c000d)
    I think this error comes from our code and I believe that the URL is not the problem.
    This led me to investigate whether the DataSocket is working at all.
    I downloaded the sample application called OPC Client, compiled it into a Release version executable ran it on my client machine.
    I believe the Browse button is supposed to bring up a list of OPC servers, but instead i get the error message:
    OPC Client, Member not found.
    I have installed and registered every possibly related .dll and .ocx file I could find, but believe that I am still missing something. If anyone could help me get this example program working, I think it would go a long way towards solving my overall problem.
    Thanks,
    Eric
    Process Instruments, Inc.

    Another clue: In reading the KB article called "Redistributing a ComponentWorks Application Built with DataSocket" (Document ID: DIRECT-45GPQQ) I came across this line:
    "If you want to use OPC browsing, include BVOPCClient.dll."
    This seemed like the thing to do, but I couldn't find it on my client or development machine. However I did find it on an old development machine that was used to develop the original software that I am working on, and happens to be the only machine on which the OPC Client example program works. (I can't test my code on this machine because the instrument isn't connected to it.)
    I copied the file BVOPCClient.dll into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory on my client machine and then tried to register it with regsvr32.exe. I go
    t the following error message:
    c:\windows\system\BVOPCClient.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of c:\windows\system\BVOPCClient.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it.
    I then found a newer version of BVOPCClient.dll on your site and downloaded that with the same result.
    I then reinstalled FieldPoint Explorer 3.0 with all options checked AND ComponentWorks 2.01 with all options checked to see if the .dll would show up and be registered that way. No dice.
    Do you think this .dll may be the key to getting my OPC Server communicating? And if so, what is my problem with registration? I am a newbie when it comes to regsvr32.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • How to get back into Time Machine after restore?

    I have a MacBook. I had to take it in for repairs. Fry's gave me a loaner Macbook. I successfully used the Migration Assistant to copy all my backups onto the loaner Macbook. All my apps and docs seem to be here.
    But now I want to be able to "mount" to my old Time Machine backup "stream". I tried the control-click on Time Machine in the dock to connect to a previous backup, but when I enter Time Machine I can't find any history. I should have like 2 years worth of backups.
    Any hints on how to "get back on" an old time machine sequence after a restore?

    TM keeps the backups for each Mac separate, and normally only shows the ones for the Mac it's running on, even if there are other Macs' backups on the same disk/partition.
    Also, sometimes TM will start a new "sequence" of backups, as if they were from a different Mac.
    To see these "other" backups, you need the (badly named) +Browse Other Time Machine Disks+ option. It's available by holding down the Option key while selecting the TM icon in your Menubar, or by control-clicking (right-clicking) the TM icon in your Dock.
    You'll see a selection screen showing all the disks/partitions that have TM backups on them. Select the one you want, and you'll be taken to the normal TM "Star Wars" interface, where you should see all the backups on that disk/partition.

  • How to write files on Client Machine using JSP

    Hi,
    I am new to JSP. Please tell me how do i write files on Client machine thru a Browser.
    Please let me know at the Earliest.
    Thanks.
    Mehul Dave

    1) Well I find it rather convenient to deploy a web app as just one file rather than a bunch of files. For deployment it's much better. However I prefer using expanded files when developping (to use auto reload in Tomcat for example)
    2) It is a bad idea to upload files inside your webapp's context (ie: in it's deployment directory) because one day an uninformed system administrator might come and redeploy the web app and therefore delete all your uploaded files (believe me, I've already experienced this!)
    What i do usually is upload it in a completely different directory, something like /uploaded_files. Your uploaded files are therefore completely independant from your webapp
    However it is a bit trickyer to get those files back. Let's take the example of image uploads. You have 2 ways of proceeding:
    - the easiest : configure your web server (apache etc...) to redirect a certain url to your external directory. For example the /upload url will point to a /uploaded_files directory. This is easier to do and the fastest way to serve images but not always the best solution: you are dependant on the web server's configuration and you can't control the visibility on your files (no security constraints, anyone can see your uploaded files if they know the url).
    - you can also write a servlet which will load the file as an array of bytes and send it back in the response.
    You can call it this way :
    <img src="/serlvets/showmyimage?path=uploaded.gif">
    in this way you can control your uploaded files better: you may want to define security constraints on the visibity or not of uploaded files depending on the user which has logged on the site.

  • How to get the loaded client sequence file path/name?

    I added a step in Process model, and wanted to get currently loaded client sequence file name/path. I used the variable of "SequenceFile.Path" but then I realized what I would get is the process model file path, not loaded client sequence file path/name. How can I get loaded client sequence file path/name?

    Jacky

    I dont understand what you are trying to achieve.  Can you provide more information.
    If you are trying to dynamically load and run a client sequence file at run time you need to make a couple of calls to the TS API from inside the process model, Engine.GetSequenceFileEx to get a reference to your sequence identified by its pathname, and then Execution.ClientFile to tell the process model which sequence you want to run.

    I am connected to the internet via a Netgear wireless router.
    I also have an old Windows laptop that also uses the same wireless router
    and it can FTP quite happily!!!!!
    Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

    ejn - thanks for your continued assistance.
    I've tried turning the firewall off but this does not appear to make any difference(*). Also, I have Parallels installed and I'm sharing the internet connection with this (even though Parallels itself is not currently running). Turning this sharing off doesn't seem to change anything either.
    I have noticed some entries in the ifpw.log file that coincide with some of the ftp actions. Given the following terminal session:

    which makes sense as the system tries to go for an active transfer.
    (*) Actually, while I've been writing this, I've been playing on the terminal as well. I've found the combination of:
    1) turning off the firewall
    2) starting ftp
    3) issuing the 'passive' command to turn off passive mode
    4) issuing 'ls' etc. works
    Looks like I've not been waiting long enough for the ftp client to get sick of trying the passive transfer and switching to an active one with the firewakk turned off!
    Still doesn't answer the question - why does passive mode not work?

  • How to get detailed specifications by machine type model ?

    Hi,

  • How to get IPAddress of the Machine

    Hi All,
    Could anyone please tell me how to get the IP Address of the machine. Ie, I want to get my machine's IP Address and initialise the ServerSocket with that IPAddress. Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Shankar.

    You find static methods for this in class java.net.InetAddress.
    import java.net.InetAddress;
    InetAddress myLocalIp = InetAddress.getLocalHost();If you have just one Network-card in you machine thats all you need to know, and as was stated in the previous post you don't need to initialise the ServerSocket with it beause the localhost-ip is used automaticly
    If you on the other hand have more than one Network-card, or if you have any other open Network channels (like for instance your connected to the Internet via a modem you could use the following code-fragment to get all the available InetAddress-objects of you machine:
    InetAddress local_ip=null;
    InetAddress [] all_local_ips=null;
    try {
         //First retrieve your local hostname
         local_ip=InetAddress.getLocalHost();
         //now use you local hostname to get an array of all the IP's avaliable for you machine
         all_locals_ips=InetAddress.getAllByName(local_ip.getHostName());
    catch(UnknownHostException uhe) {
         //Don't know my own names;
         all_local_ips=null;
    catch(SecurityException se) {
         //Not allowed to read the names
         all_locals=null;
    }

  • How to get the real client ip by the request header like asp/php,etc?

    I want to get the real client ip by request.getHeader("HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR"), who use the proxy server to access my site, the way asp/php using, however, I got nothing. Does jsp support the similar header from request, if yes, how to do?
    thanks for your tips.
