How to add a filter in multiple BEx queries at once

Hello everybody,
my requirement is to add a generic filter (characteristic restriction) in more than 30 BEx queries. Instead of adding the filter in each query one by one with query designer, I was wondering if there is a tool (eg. a transaction or a query designer function) that can add this filter to all desired queries at once.
Does anybody know if such tool exists??

Hi,
I think it is not possible. if your all query on one info provider, then you can make filter reusable for info provider and use it when you are creating query again on that info provider.
First, Restrict characteristics in filter as per your requirement and then right click on it and click on save as - give description and technical name. then save it. now filter is reusable

How do i access multiple bex queries in one crystal reports??

Hello Experts,
I have 10 cubes and 30 bex queries on it and i need to create 3 final crystal reports on these 30 queries.
I am on BI 4.0 & CR 2011. but my client is not on correct SAP patch ie., he is on 15+ but he must be on 23+ to access multiple bex queries on CR 2011 Database expert. (I am unable to see bex queries in Database expert to link couple of bex queries)
And my client env doesnt have SAP EP for SAP BW Netweaver Connection to create a connection to access cubes or queries in IDT.
Do my client env need EP? so that SAP BICS Connection will work in IDT?
How do i approach to achive this...

Hi,
have you checked the option "allow external access" in your query? SAP Toolbar will find all queries but the database export needs this flag to be set.
Using multiple queries within one crystal report is using the "multi database join feature" of crystal reports. You can link your queries by key fields and crystal will join them in memory. So when there are many queries or many datarows this can be a huge performance killer.
Actuallly one of our customers is running a report which has more than 20 BEx queries linked together. It runs just fine.
Please be sure to set your joins correctly. E.g. crystal will try to make a join on the "key figures" sturcture if you let it create a suggestion or it will try to link on all fields of an infoobject. This will bring MDX errors.
So you should be setting your joins correctly - the [infoobject]-[20infoobject] fields are fine for that.

TIME > DATEADD(Now(),0,0,0,0,0, -[PARAMETER:interval],0)
where TIME is a field, interval is paramter in seconds (may > 60)
or
a calculated field:
TIME2=DATEADD(TIME, 0,0,0,0,0,[PARAMETER:interval],0)
and a filter
TIME2<Now()
or a filter
TIME is within a time interval previous [PARAMTER:interval] minutes

Using the same example in the PDF (data object layout) - the above "formula" worked for me. Note that if you use the above formula - it would be evaled only once, not periodically at every 5 secs or so. In order to achieve -real-time-alert-evaluation- you have to use 'ActiveNow' with the timefield in "alert"
Alternate - the above calculation also worked correctly in the ADC dataobject layout design as calculated field. But again it will be evaluated only if the data in 'that' row changes.

Multiple BEx queries in one report

Hi All,
I would like to know if we can use multiple BEx queries in a single report using Crystal Report 2008 / 2011?
If so, there is another requirement follwoing the above as below:
I have objects obj1,obj2,obj3 in query 1 and objects obj1, obj2, obj4 in query 2. I have prompts based on obj1 from query1 and prompt on obj4 from query2.
So, when I enter a value in prompt1 for obj3, i need to have query1 executed and display the data and data should not be displayed from query2. Similarly, if I enter value for prompt2 of query2, only query2 data to be displayed.
Pls suggest if this can be achieved and how?

Some queries created in 3.X and some in 7.X in my system. How to know that the query created in which version. Where we can find such information.
It might be smaal isue for you. I searched the form but i haven't got information which i am looking for.

Just check if the below can help you.
You can use table RSZCOMPDIR
Enter Query Technical Name in field COMPID
Field VERSION in the Table RSZCOMPDIR can tell you the version.
if the value is below 100 then Query is in 3.x versionu2026
If Greater Than 100 means, it is already Migrated to higher version which is 7.X

You do it exactlky the same.
Select all teh songs you want, right click - get info.
Tick the box next to Artwork and drag or paste artwork into the box.

How to add Saved Filter to my new analysis, not in left side catalog pane?

I have set up a set of filters which i have saved in the /Shared Folders/Filters directory (i created a Filters directory there). The analysis where i created this saved filter works just fine.
Now i start a new analysis and i try to add the filter by navigating within the Catalog pane in the lower left corner. But there isn't anything in there by the few top level directories. I don't see any other objects, including sub-folders, analyses, etc.
I don't understand why i do not see anything at all. When i use the top/main Catalog link, of course i see all sorts of analysis, filters, prompts, etc., which i have in my environment.
How can i add my Saved Filter to my new analysis if i can't find it in the Catalog pane, and why is that (or anything) showing up in that pane?

Thanks.Is the new analysis in the same Subject Area? Saved Filters are tied to Subject Areas so if the SA is different, you won't see it.

How to add a filter to Premiere Elements 9

Premiere Elements 9 is missing a timecode filter (like the kind found on Premier Pro CS5). Is it possible to add this filter (and others) to Premiere Elements 9? And how? And where would these video filters be? The trial seems to be working ok on my iMac i5. Need the timecode though...

There might be some plug-ins, but I use PrPro and AE, so I have that Effect in each. I like the control in AE better vs the TimeCode Effect in PrPro.

How to Add a Filter By field to a Report

Hello, I am running Apex 3.x and I currently have in production, a standard report page with the following columns:
Grant#, Grant Name, Project #, Project Name, Project Fiscal Year, Task #, Task Name
A grant can have many projects, and a project can have many tasks.
I have been asked to add a "Filter By:" field acting as a select List , with just these values: Show All, Show Projects and Tasks, Show Projects
If "Show All" is selected, the report remains the same and displays all the column headings and data for all the fields above.
If "Show Projects and Tasks" is selected, I am to refresh the page, and only show data (and column headings) for Project #, Project Name, Project Fiscal Year, Task #, Task Name.
If "Show Projects" is selected, I am to refresh the page, and only show data (and column headings) for Project #, Project Name, Project Fiscal Year
Could you please assist in directing me on how I can go about hiding these other columns and data if "Show All" is not selected.

Create a select list with those 3 values ( and make it a select with submit ), then in your report attributes, go to the conditional columns you have and set the condition accordingly, ex: for example:
column Task # >> edit >> condition >> PLSQL expression
:PX_FILTER != 'Show Projects'
Where PX_FILTER is the new select list that you will create....

How to remove "Blue filter" from multiple images in the History Panel

I am using Lightroom 4.3 on Windows 7 pc. I have a collection with approximately 650 images. I was working in the collection and had all the images selected. Somehow I inadvertently must have hit a keyboard shortcut that effected all the images. All of the images are negatively effected and they now look terrible. When I go to the History Panel, all the images have "blue filter" as their most recent entry. If I select one image and go back to the step before the "blue filter" everything looks fine again. My problem is I have this effect in 650 images. When I try and do the change in one image and then synch to the rest, I don't know what box to check to remove this "blue filter" that has been added to all the images. I know I can do them one by one, but with 650 images, it's a long and tedious process. Any way I can remove the "blue filter" from multiple images in a collection?

If you’ve just done it, then an Undo operation would reverse things on all the images, I think. But if it took you a while to see the problem, then you might have done something to cancel the undoability.
Isn’t Blue Filter a built in LR preset that modifies the HSL settings: http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/924/cpsid_92473.html
Open the HSL panel and step back into History on one of the affected images so the effect of the Blue Filter preset has been undone and notice what HSL sliders change, and then if the 650 images DON’T already have any HSL adjustments you should be able to sync JUST the pre-Blue-Filter HSL adjustments (perhaps all zeros) to the other 650 images.

How to add an image in multiple pages?

First be aware that before posting this, I digged into Google but could not find a solution.
How to add an image in the footer section of a PDF document of size, say, 500pages? I am not going to add it one by one in very page, it's too time consuming.
Is there a way to add it in the footer section or any other alternative, so that I end up with the same image in an exact position in all 500 pages?

Crystal Report with multiple BEX queries

I have a Crystal Report that uses 6 different BEX queries. The report needs to display the results from each query, there is no need to join these queries. The Crystal Report is using subreports and displaying the data one BEX query after another.
The issue I have is that these BEX queries all have the same mandatory variable. This is causing Crystal to prompt the user to enter the same variable filter once per BEX query.
If we change the BEX queries so only the first BEX query has a variable and use Crystal to filter the other 5, the performance is unacceptable. My guess is the other 5 queries are experiencing client side filtering instead of the filter being passed down to BW.
Is there a way to have multiple BW queries with the same variable and have Crystal only prompt the user to enter input one time?

Hi Andy,
My understanding of the issue is :
--You have 6 Bex queries and are displying on after the other becaused you have inserted all these queries as sub report.
--All your Bex queries are having same parameter / prompt / variable which will take user input and filter the data.
--Now the report is prompting the user to enter prompt / variable 6 times. You are looking for an option to proimpt only ones insted of 6 tiems.
If I understood correctly follow the method to link sub reports to grab the parameter value form main report parameter :
Right click on sub report go in Change Subreport Links, select main reort prompt / varieable and then select sub report prompt / parameter / variable.
Do the same for all your sub reports. This will eliminate asking / prompting the same parameter value several times.

How to define one filter over multiple dimensions

I am a SAP BW consultant trying to move the first steps in BO. I am quite new and unskilled in this area.
I built an Universe on a SAP BW query. This query is about Product master data. Among other characteristics I have defined also three year characteristics (Teil1, Teil2 and Teil3). In correspondence of every of those year characteristic a key figure is defined (Quant1, Quant2 and Quant3).
I have now the requirement to build a Web Intelligence report, being able to filter across the three year characteristics and reporting the corresponding key figures.
An example:
                 Teil1   Teil2    Teil3   Quant1 Quant2 Quant3
Record1   2001   2002   2003    10            20          30
Record2   2007   2009   2010    30            80         110
Record3   2002   2003   2005     6             40          30
I might be able to define a general filter over the characteristics Teil 1 Teil2 and Teil3, acting like that:
General Filter: 2003
Reported Values    Record1 Quant3 (30)
                               Record3 Quant2 (40)
since year 2003 is appearing only in record1 and 3 and not in record2.
What i am trying to build is a "or" condition Teil1 = 2003 Or Teil 2 = 2003 or Teil3 = 2003, where the year value is defined by the user at query execution.
I hope, my requirement is clear and, above all, you are able to help me.

you can create a quick filter that will be applied locally on the WebI report. All you have to do is to create a WebI variable that contains the OR condition and apply the filter to it:
assuming your variable is named MyVariable the formula will look like this:
=if (Teil1 = 2003 Or Teil 2 = 2003 or Teil3 = 2003) then 1 else 0
Then you have to apply the following filter on the report section you display your results
MyVariable=1
Please note that still all data will be fetched into your webi report and will be filtered after that. This may cause performance problems if we are talking about a large number of data. In this case you may ant to consider to add a customer exit variable into your BEx query.
