Please note that this example maybe slow at filling the excel table
(perhaps four fields per second on a 900 MHz machine - almost 30 seconds
for a short example).
To get the data on properties and methods - there is a bit of smoke and mirrors
going on here; they are EXCEL properties and methods, not sap ones - so you need
to look at excel help to determine how a particular function is structured. then
build the block in sap, as shown in the example.
If you only want to transfer the data to Excel like when you transfer the data from
ALV to Excel simply use the Function Modules:
XXL_SIMPLE_API
If you want more modifications when you transfer it to Excel use:
XXL_FULL_API
Hope this helps.

How to get the output of my batch file or script file
Hello,
I am a beginner in java and I have to run a batch file(in win) or a script(in linux). I want the output of the file in my java program. How to read the output. I used the following code and it always gave me the empty string output
Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process p = null;
p = r.exec("./test.bat"); //./test.sh
int res = p.waitFor();
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
String tempStr = "", str = null;
while((str=br.readLine()) != null) {
tempStr += str + "\n";
System.out.println(tempStr);
I know this is a simple one but it's taking a lot of time. Can any one there help me quickly.hi
the below function works well for me..
just make a try with it
protected String runConsoleCommand(String command) throws IOException {
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);
InputStream stdoutStream = new BufferedInputStream(p.getInputStream());
StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
for (; ; ) {
int c = stdoutStream.read();
if (c == -1)
break;
buffer.append( (char) c);
String outputText = buffer.toString();
stdoutStream.close();
System.out.println("the output to file is:"+outputText);

How to change the output directory of .xml files
Hi,
There are lots of .xml files generated under
$ORACLE_AS_HOME/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xml.
(ex:/usb/bipub3/oracle/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xml).
I found these files are generated in the following operation;
1.Log in BI Publisher.
2.Select the Schedules tab.
I think they are kind of temp files so we will be able to delete them.
But I'd like to know how to change the output directory.
Can we change the above directory to other path?
Regards.Why? As that may invalidate support since you configure/alter the deployment.
The location is specified in oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver.war, so you could go into the war file and alter it. -

How to send the output to PDF format in reports 6i?
Hi,
How to send the output to PDF format in reports 6i? I given Mode = BITMAP.
DESTYPE = File, DESFORMAT = PDF, DESNAME = C:\x.pdf.
Report is running fine. But PDF file not generated. I don't know what i missed. Any one can help this?
Thanks
KavithaHello,
Do you get this problem only for DESFORMAT=PDF ?
Test with :
DESFORMAT = RTF, DESNAME = C:\x.rtf
or
DESFORMAT = HTMLCSS, DESNAME = C:\x.html
does it work ?
Check if DESNAME is modified in the reports itself.

Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte: How to set the output path for classes ?
Help !
Beginner's question:
Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte:
How to set the output path for classes ?
As default, the class files are created in the same directory as the
sources.
In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
with the sources and another tree with the classes.
The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I dont want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.
Tia
Sincerely
RolfYou can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set! -
How to redirect CELLCLI output to text file
Hi,
I would like to redicrect the output of the cellcli command to a text file .
For example , how to redirect the output of this command to a text file on /tmp
CellCLI> list metrichistory where objectType = 'CELL' -
and name = 'CL_TEMP'Thankscellcli has spooling capabilities similar to sqlplus:
CellCLI> help spool
Usage: SPO[OL] [<filename> [ CRE[ATE] | REP[LACE] | APP[END]] | OFF ]
Purpose: SPOOL <filename>: Direct the results to the file <filename>.
SPOOL OFF: Turn off the spooling.
SPOOL: Check the current spooling status.
Arguments:
<filename>: The filename where the results will be output.
Options:
[APPEND]: If the filename already exists, the following output will
be appended to the file. Without this option, the existing file
contents will be replaced.
[CREATE]: If the filename already exists, an error is reported.
[REPLACE]: If the filename already exists, the contents will be
replaced. This is the default, when no option is provided.
Examples:
spool myfile
spool myfile append
spool off
spoolBut if you are trying to script it, it would be easier to just run it command line:
# cellcli -e "list metrichistory where objectType = 'CELL' and name = 'CL_TEMP'" > /tmp/CL_TEMP.txtAlso look into dcli which allows you to run cellcli commands on one or more cells from a compute node.
Good luck. -
How to align the 2 rows into 1 row?
Here is the SQL below:
SELECT distinct QP.QIP_id,
Max(decode( Upper(QP.Status_CD), Upper('Approved') , Effective_date, null )) as Approved_date,
Max( decode( Upper(QP.Status_CD), Upper('Submitted') , Effective_date, null ) ) as Submitted_date
FROM Llp_Sys.Project_Status QP
WHERE Upper(Qp.Status_cd) in (Upper('Approved'),Upper('Submitted'))
AND qp.qip_id = 79440
GROUP by QP.QIP_ID,Qp.Status_CDThe output data is displayed as below:
79440 NULL 01-FEB-10
79440 04-FEB-10 NULLHow can I display only 1 row in the output instead of 2 rows.? I mean How to align the rows ?Hi,
When you say
GROUP by QP.QIP_ID,Qp.Status_CDthe output will contain one row for each distinct combination of values found for qid_id and status_cd. If you want one row for each distinct value of qui_id, including all status_cds, then say
GROUP by QP.QIP_IDwithout mentioning qip_id, as Bigc suggested. There is nothing in the query that you posted that would cause an error if you did this. If you tried it and got an error message, then post the complete query that causes the error, and the complete error message, including the line number.
(If all the columns in the GROUP BY clause are also in the SELECT clause, then you don't have to say SELECT DISTINCT , since the output has separate rows only for distinct values of the GROUP BY columns.)
Whenever you have any problem, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) and the results you want from that data. You'll get better answers faster. -
