How to associate a submitted query with a sessionid (for kill by enduser)

After submitting queries in batch mode through a (self-programmed) user interface, we would like to give the enduser the possibility of killing executing queries submitted by himself.
I guess the keyword is to get hold of the session id, after starting/submitting the query.
One way could be by retrieving information from V$SESSION after the job has been started (and before next job is started) and look for 'a new session id/serial#'. When identified, it is stored along with the query making it possible for the application to issue 'ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION (x,y);'.
Does anyone see problems with this solution or have better suggestions ? A detailed description would be highly appriciated.
We are using Oracle 8.1.6 (HP/Unix).

The main problem to the suggested solution is you END USERS.
I would never-ever give them an ability to kill sessions. Never!
What will happend if they kill an Oracle session and immidiently start another one
while the first session was only marked as killed. And even more. Sometimes I saw situations when it was not enough to kill Oracle sessions but Unix sessions also need to be killed.
In another words, let your end user submit a request to a person (like DBA) who knows what he is doing and how to handle a "run-away" process.

You can get Row Source Statistics only *after* the SQL has been executed. An Explain Plan midway cannot give you row source statistics.
To get row source statistics either set STATISTICS_LEVEL='ALL' in the session that executes theSQL OR use the Hint "gather_plan_statistics" in the SQL being executed.
Then use dbms_xplan.display_cursor

How to associate a test message with a change document

I am using solution manager 7.01.
accessing my change documents through the workcenter I need to create a new test message - so I use the Create transaction button on the button bar, Service Process, Test Message
Then I am in the create test message screen. However from here I cannot see how to associate my test message with either the change document that I was processing or to the maintenance cycle.
Ideally I want to link the test message to the change document however at least to the maintenance cycle.
How do I do this?
Am I creating the test message in an incorrect way?

How to associate an uploaded file with form data

I have a "ticketing" app which stores a ticket no. as well as allows users to upload multiple files per ticket. The problem I am having is how to associate an uploaded file with a particular ticket no. As you can guess this becomes complicated when the same user can potentially update multiple tickets using the same file names. I am having difficulty trying to understand how to associate a ticket no with one or more uploaded files. I do have a custom table which I update with the attachments but I am unsure how to, or when to, update the ticket information on this custom table. I only want to retrieve attachments for a given ticket, not all attachments uploaded by a user.Does anyone have any ideas?

In trying to create an ABAP query with parameters. So it will select data where fields are equal to the parameters entered. The default logical expression is SELECT.. WHERE... AND.. However I want to have an OR logical expression instead of AND.. how can I attain this??

You cannot just replace AND with OR in an ABAP QUERY. ABAP QUERY is a self generated SAP code. You'll just declare the tables, input parameters and output fields to be displayed and it will create a SAP standard code. If you'll try to change the code and replace the AND with OR in the SAP standard code, the system will require you to enter access key/object key for that particular query.

I have already tried to insert a code in the ABAP query (there's a part there wherein you can have extra code) but that didn't work. Can anybody help me on this.

do you have sso configured between portal and BW server, if yes the authentication pop up should not come.
if you dont want to do sso between portal and bw server and still want to logon to BW query with anonymous user,
in you bw server go to transaction sicf and navigate to DEFAULT_HOST->SAP->BW->BEX and double click on bex node in the resulting window, log on details section provide a default userid/password

Mixed spaces and tabs has nothing to do with the syntax of the statement. You used both spaces and the tab in the content - which JSLint doesn't like. Remove the beginning spaces of each line and use only one or the other.
The actual syntax of your statement doesn't look right. The problem is that you are escaping the \ when you don't need to if you are using ' instead of " for your string. You escape with \" in the first line but then escape with \' in the 2nd and 3rd line. That is going to cause serious parsing problems with the command.

Messages on the Mac will only sync those iMessages involving the Apple ID used in Messages (Presuming you have this on your Phone as a second "Received At" ID.
iPhone to iPhone IMs will not show up in Messages on the Mac.

I'm a fan of Java code, I really am.
But when you use ADF, you decided to move to a more declarative environment.
So why not do it declarative, the adf way?
In your pagedef insert a action binding.
This can be anything, a call to the application module, a call on the iterator(Like executeWithparams, etc.)
Create an invokeAction in your pagedef and set the condition.
This example refreshes(Action 2 is execute query) the data.
First the method binding:
    <action IterBinding="PersoonIterator" id="Execute" InstanceName="LSAppModuleDataControl.Persoon"
            DataControl="LSAppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="2"/>And the invoke action
    <invokeAction Binds="Execute" id="refreshData"/>This always refreshes the data on page entry, but anything is possible, you can set condictions for the invokeAction.

PS Yes I know that pagedefs become backing beans in the end and yes that is Java code, but if you wanna play the ADF way, the goal is the reduction of Java code and the increased performance of declarative programming.
