How to attach a custom transaction to a user menu

Hi all,
I need some help on how to attach a transaction code to a user menu.
I've checked the forum but I could not find the exact instructions on how to do it.
This is how the user menu should look like:
User menu for Ricky Orea
'->Manager Catalog Content
'--->Standard transaction
'--->Standard transaction
'--->(insert my transaction here)

Hi
The user menu is the set of menu of all roles of user, so you should check the roles of the user and update one of menu of user roles.
You can do it by transactions PFGC, but if you change a role you'll change the menu of all users have that role.
This operation usually is made by the administrators of system.

Can you try this way:
You need to modify the structure ( node ) that you want to modify using transaction SIMGH. First you need to go to transaction SIMGH.
In the IMG structure just press f4 -> you need to give the title of the structure that needs to be edited. f8. Then you can modify the structure -> insert node.
You need to give the node text.
After creating the node, click on the node and select insert activity.
In the ID field give an entry, Give the description in 'name'.

I have problem that how to execute a Custom Transaction in Back Ground after end user will save a variant for input. In my Transaction there is no menu to save a Variant & to Execute in Back Ground.

what kind of report you want to execute? the report is Executable Report or Modulepool prog. ??
if it is a executable program so when u execute (F8) from SE38 when u find the selection-screen in the menu bar ->Program ->Execute in Background( F9) option exits there u can schedule your report in Background or else use toce SM36 ( Define Background Job).
Why you want to run it in background with transaction code if you have this options?

Urgent!! How to call a custom transaction or an ABAP program in BSP?
We are pretty new on BSP. Would be very appreciated if any expert here give us the detailed steps on how to build up the application to just call a custom transaction (e.g., t-code: ztest) or an ABAP program. Would we have to create a button or event handler to do that? And the detailed steps?

During the time to wait for your answer, we copied Bernd's code from your last link, but when activating it, get the 1st error msg:
Field "CLIENT" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement. "DATA" statement."DATA" statement. The error shows up here:

with SE43N you can add custom transaction codes to the existing menues.

Your Security and/or Basis team probably have control of the user menu settings. On the other hand, if this is for YOUR user menu, you could choose to simply adjust your favorites.

How to make a custom transaction..?

Hello gurus,
I have been given the task to make a custom transaction ZVA02.One the first screen there will be a field Order Number and then once we enter the order number it searches and find out whether that order exists or not...if it does then make the change in the fields..if it does not then create a new order by that name...
I have no clue how to go about with this...Your help is required experts...

goto ABAPDOCU Transaction -> ABAP User Dialogs -> Screens here you will have example programs.
you can validate order number against VBAK Table
simple query in dialog
select single vbeln from vbak into vbak-vbeln
where vbeln = screen field order #.
if sy-subrc eq 0.
call transaction 'VA02' and skip first screen.
else.
call transaction 'VA01' .
endif.
even you can build new screen what ever in sales order -

The user names are stored in table USR01. IN that table see if you can add a field to have region. Extract this table and store it in User info object in BW.
You will need a ABAP person to do this, if you are new to SAP.

Transaction code for user menu, sap easy access

Hi system experts!
Does anybody know which transaction causes the user-specific menu within "SAP easy access" (the welcome screen after login, like /n does) ?
I need it to be called from a portal iView, so that the usual sapgui-like screen with the user's menu appears in a portal screen, both for SAPGUI for windows and http.
Trx. S000 or SESSION_MANAGER does not cause the user-specific menu when called from the portal. These work least of all for call via ITS.

The transaction code is SE41.. This is for creating Menus and tool bars.
you can also try SMEN it will call the user menu as you described in your post.

How to call a custom transaction in retailstore which runs in same session?

Hey guys,
hope you can give me some hints. OK, i have a resultlist and it should be possible to call a SAPGui transaction via webgui service. This works fine but the link which i created has no info about the current session ID. I build an URL with the function modul ITS_GET_URL and concatenate it with the neccessary transaction code and parameter. Then i call this URL by function ITS_BROWSER_WINDOW_OPEN. A new browser window is opened with the right transaction in webgui. But if i hit the button back, i get the message, i was succesfully logged off. This wasn't the result which i want.
What i want is to call the transaction via webgui and this transaction should run in same window and in same session. Any idea how to do that?
I know i need to build an URL with a valid session ID for the transaction, but how can i do that?

This does not look like an ABAP issue, but rather JavaScript, JQuery or whatever you are using to handle the button-click-event in your "Internet Service" web application.
You might try window.open("http://xxx...me23n","_self").

How to download list of transaction from SAP area menu in SAP1 transaction

My requirement is I want to download the list of transaction under the SAP area menu in SAP1 transaction.
I tried with SE43, entered area menu as S000, but it doesn't give me of the same hierarchy and some transaction were missing, for example IH08 is available in SAP1 transaction and not available in SE43.
Could you please let me know is there any way to download the list.

If you open SE43N, type SAP1 and Display (F7), Tree is shown with collapsed nodes. Print option in Menu shows the same tree as a list. The nodes do not get expanded by default.
So in order to get expanded tree in list ( so that transaction codes can be seen), you need to expand the tree before choosing Area Menu > Print.
This works for average area menu which is less number of transactions.
Since you are looking for SAP1, it has lot of transactions, and on expanding it, information message is shown as:
The tree could only be partially expanded for performance reasons
Diagnosis: The hierarchy could not be completely expanded for performance reasons; it has too many subnodes.
Procedure:
Restrict the number of nodes to be expanded by expanding a lower-level node
or
Expand this node repeatedly until this message no longer appears. The hierarchy is then completely expanded.
As a result, IH08 transaction which is under Quality Management node can't be seen in list view as overflow occurred before this node was reached.
On debugging, it can be seen that the tree is expanded recursively by standard until an overflow flag is set.
In order to get around this overflow protection, you can write a custom code.
Below snippet is for demonstration purpose.
1. Run FM BMENU_DISPLAY_RSTREE in SE37 with tree_id as QM01
2. Run my snippet that calls same FM in the end
Compare 2 outputs and see the difference.
I am going 1 level deep and IH08 transaction can be seen in output.
Similarly, you can write a code that recursively expands every sub-tree found so that entire list can be seen.

SHD0 transaction-how to restrict the variant transaction to specified users

I have created a variant transaction for MM02 wherein am disabling a field .I want this field to be disabled only for certain users.The variant transaction which I created affects all users.So,for everyone the field is grayed out.How to restrict this for specified users???

Hello,
Try to look an exit for that transaction, either user exit or badi, then try to disable the field doing a LOOP AT SCREEN, but first you should have the restricted users in a Z table, or by cheking the profiles for each user..
Another way to do it is trying to do it the profiles customization, maybe you can do it that way.
