How to avoid variable declaration dublication in a script?

Hello to everyone!
I have a business rule which calls twice same script. But in this sript there is a variable declaration (MethodOpl).
Rule:
FIX (&CashFlowPlanningMonths, &PlanningYear, {SelScenario}, {SelVersion})
    %Script(name:="Distribution 100",application:="workapp3",plantype:="Plan1");
ENDFIX;
FIX (Jan:Dec, &NextYear, {SelScenario}, {SelVersion})
    %Script(name:="Distribution 100",application:="workapp3",plantype:="Plan1");
ENDFIX;
Script:
VAR MethodOpl = 0;
FIX (@DESCENDANTS("TotalLocations"), "NoAnalytics", @DESCENDANTS("100000"))
  AmountByPay(
      IF ( NOT @ISMBR(@LIST("114100","115110","115120","115130")) )
        MethodOpl = "BegBalance"->WorkVersion->"NoFRC"->"DistributionByPay";
        IF ( MethodOpl == #Missing )
           MethodOpl = "NoLocation"->WorkVersion->"BegBalance"->"NoFRC"->"DistributionByPay";
        ENDIF;
        ... (some calculations)
      ENDIF;
ENDFIX;
If I try to validate rule I get error like this:
An error occurred in: Rule:workapp3.Plan1.TestOTN
A validation error was received from the Planning server 'http://ohp:80/HyperionPlanning/servlet/HspAppManagerServlet?appname=workapp3'.
'Error:Переопределение имени переменной [MethodOpl]. Rule workapp3.Plan1.TestOTN'.
Error text can be translated as "Error: Redeclaring variable name [MethodOpl]"
Can you advice me how to avoid second declaration?
May be somehow like this?
#IF !DEFINED(MethodOpl)
  VAR MethodOpl;
#ENDIF
MethodOpl = 0;

Try creating a separate script for variable declaration & declare all the variables inside it.Add this script as first statement in the rule
SCRIPT:  "Var Declaration"
VAR MethodOpl = 0;
RULE
%Script(name:="Var Declaration",application:="workapp3",plantype:="Plan1");
FIX (&CashFlowPlanningMonths, &PlanningYear, {SelScenario}, {SelVersion})
%Script(name:="Distribution 100",application:="workapp3",plantype:="Plan1");
ENDFIX;
FIX (Jan:Dec, &NextYear, {SelScenario}, {SelVersion})
%Script(name:="Distribution 100",application:="workapp3",plantype:="Plan1");
ENDFIX;
remove the "MethodOpl" variable declaration from the script -"Distribution 100".

  • How to avoid creation of ^M in linux scripts

    Hi All
    How to avoid creation of ^M in linux scripts
    Regards

    If you keep your scripts on linux, there will be no ^M's.
    If you use FTP, set transfer type to ASCII. (ascii command)
    If you have scripts that show ^M's, you can get rid of them using vi(m) command:
    1,$s/ <CTRL>v <CTRL>m //
    (where <CTRL>-v means holding the CTRL button and pressing the "v" button, same for "m")
    !! Please mind that, whilst it doesn't give any errors most of the time, it can give very strange and unexpected errors in certain cases.
    It did give errors on linux+oracle 9 listener (!!!)

    now iam able to access only the methods defined in the class but not the variables. i have defined connection properties in class file.
    in jsp i need to use

    con is declared in java class file.
    how to access the variables?

  • How to access variables declared in main mxml in itemrenderer files

    Hi,
    I have a main mxml which has a cutomRenderer that defines two
    mxml components
    namely raidobutton and textinput.
    Now in this TextInput.as i need to access variable defined in
    main mxml.
    Please suggest a way.
    Thanks,
    Lucky

    Lets say you have a public property in your application like
    public var name:String = "John Smith";
    to access this using an inline item renderer:
    <mx:itemRenderer>
    <mx:Component>
    <mx:VBox>
    <mx:TextInput text={outerDocument.name} />
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:Component>
    </mx:itemRenderer>
    To access variables of the applicaton you can use
    Application.application.name (for example) to reference "global"
    variables, so you might also use this technique. With an inline
    item renderer, the outerDocument property will refer to the
    component which contains the renderer.

  • [solved] How to avoid expanding variables with sed?

    Stupid question probably..
    Say I have a script that uses the variable $HOME, and I want to replace it with /another/dir using sed
    I try something like..
    sed -i "s_$HOME/file_/another/dir/file_g" script.sh
    but its a no go, I think sed expands $HOME to /home/tj and fails to find it in the script. How to avoid this?
    Last edited by tjwoosta (2011-03-02 05:57:06)

    alternatively you could escape the $, if you wanted to mix some expanded vars and some not:
    sed -i "s_\$HOME/file_/another/dir/file_g" script.sh
    That should also work.

  • How to use local variables declared in b/t the methods in other views

    Hi
    i need to use the value of the local variables declared in b/w the views in one other view,as i have manipulated the value based on some condition & want to use it in 1 more view for my req.,but that variable is not global one just for once i need to use it,and i can't again write the whole for its conditions,as its there in initialization view,which if coded again,can hit the functionality there,so is it possible to use the value of such local variables thereafter or not,if yes pls let me know,or i need to declare the global variable for this.

    hi,
    1.Declare an Attribute in Component controller.
    2. Pass the value to this Attribute in View V1.
             using :
      wd_comp_controller->Att = 'Saurav'.
    3. Now in view2 , you can access this Attribute using:
      data lv type string.
         lv = wd_comp_controller->Att .
    Here Att is my attribute of type string declared in component controller.

    The variable that i am using is RKMNG. While declaring it i have used it in this manner,  rkmng type p decimals 0.

    Please can u provide me how to remove these three decimals that are appearing in the output.
    Thanks,

    do this :

  • How to avoid the duplicate values, I do not want the duplicate............

    i have one database table called "sms1" that table is updated every day or on daily basis it has the following fields in it:
    SQL> desc sms1;
    Name Null? Type
    MOBILE NUMBER
    RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER VARCHAR2(39 CHAR)
    SNO NUMBER
    INDATE DATE
    From this table the is one column "RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER VARCHAR2(39 CHAR)" . I am splitting it into different columns like :
    SQL> desc smssplit;
    Name Null? Type
    R VARCHAR2(2 CHAR)
    C VARCHAR2(2 CHAR)
    S VARCHAR2(1 CHAR)
    TC VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    NA VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    TC2 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    NA2 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    TC3 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    NA3 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    TC4 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    NA4 VARCHAR2(3 CHAR)
    WTHER VARCHAR2(10 CHAR)
    SNO NUMBER
    INSERTDATA VARCHAR2(25 CHAR)
    Now I am written a procedure to insert the data from "Sms1" table to smssplit table...
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SPLITSMS
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO scott.SMSSPLIT ( R,C,S,TC,NA,TC2,NA2,TC3,NA3,TC4,NA4,WTHER,SNO)
    SELECT SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,1,2) R,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,3,2) C,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,5,1) S,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,6,3) TC,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,9,3) NA,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,12,3) TC2,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,15,3) NA2,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,18,3) TC3,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,21,3) NA3,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,24,3) TC4,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,27,3) NA4,
    SUBSTR(RCSTCNATCNATCNATCNAWTHER,30,10) WTHER, SNO
    FROM scott.SMS1 where SNO=(select MAX (sno) from SMS1);
    END;
    Now in order to update the second table with data from first table on regular basis I have written a job scheduler and I am using oracle 9.0. version...
    DECLARE
    X NUMBER;
    JobNumber NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SYS.DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT
    job => X
    ,what => 'scott.SPLITSMS;'

    ,interval => 'SYSDATE+1/1440 '
    ,no_parse => FALSE
    :JobNumber := to_char(X);
    END;
    Now this job scheduler is working properly and updating the data for every one minute but it is taking or updating the duplicate values also ..like example:
    R C S TC NA TC2 NA2 TC3 NA3 TC4 NA4 WTHER SNO

  • How to avoid the message in the dashboard report

    Hi,
                       I am developing Dashboard reports(graphs) using WAD. Query and WAD are working fine. I need to put a variable for Calendar Month or Year in the graph .I am populating the Variable with default value initially and I am getting the correct result . But if I change the Variable value second time, I am getting a message (type I(information) ) in the same screen which says that 'You cannot change variable ZCALYEAR_WT01 for charact. 0CALYEAR during query navigation' . And below is the detailed information about the error message.
    The Can be changed in query navigation property has been set for variable ZCALYEAR_WT01, characteristic 0CALYEAR. However, the variable is used in the query in such a way, that the system is unable to apply this change-option.
    This can, for example, occur under the following conditions:
    Characteristic 0CALYEAR is filtered by additional restrictions (the restrictions must be joined using an OR-connection)
    A second characteristic, which is restricted by a variable, is compounded to charcteristic 0CALYEAR.
    Variable ZCALYEAR_WT01 is a hierarchy node variable, but the hierarchy has not been determined uniquely.
    A variable can be changed during query navigation only if it is used exclusively in a drilldown-characteristic, and there are no further restrictions to the characteristic other than this variable. There must be no additional characteristics with variables compounded to the characteristic you are working with. For variables for hierarchy nodes, the hierarchy must be determined uniquely and agree with the set display hierarchy.
    Also, if the characteristic value is moved, for example (ZCALYEAR_WT01 - 1), the variable is no longer able to be changed when navigating queries.
    System Response
    The entry ZCALYEAR_WT01 Can be changed during query navigation is not applied.
    Procedure
         I checked the query definition and it is not having any offset or any other restrictions for Calendar Year
    It is used for finding the total quantity by country for the year  .Hence Quantity keyfigure is added in the Keyfigures and Country is in the Rows and Calendar Year is restricted with Variable in the global filter .There are no other fields and no other restrictions .
      I am still trying to figure out why the warning apprears in the DashBoard. Since this Dashboard report will be used by the Power users and this warning message will be annoying to them .Hence I need to find how to avoid this message.
    Kindly do let me if anyone has faced this and solved earlier.
    Thanks for your time.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raja

    Hi Nick,
      Thanks for your suggestion and it  worked for me   I  added the 'System message' web item and set the visibility to 'Hidden'  .Now I am not getting any message. Thank you for both.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raja

  • How to use %Type declaration with table residing in a different database

    How can I use the %TYPE declaration if the table is from a different database.
    E.g
    v_business_unit ps_jrnl.header.business_unit%TYPE;
    In the above declaration statement,the table 'ps_jrnl_header' resides in a different database(Database A) from the one I am currently in( Database B).(This is because data needs to be extracted from Database A into Database B).

    1. Create a database link to the other database (this probably already exists since your proc is interacting with that database)
    2. Create a synonym for the table in the other database
    create synonym foo for ps_jrnl.header@database_a;3. Reference the synonym in your variable declaration:
    v_business_unit  foo.business_unit%TYPE;

  • How to put variables in WAD

    Gurus,
    I'm new to WAD. Please could you guide me how to have variables in WAD (for planning). Right now When I launch the WAD it pops up for all the variables. But what I want is that it should not ask for any variable while launching the WAD and later the variables should be filled up by drop downs inside the WAD. Is that possible?
    BR,
    SSC

    Hi,
    Is there a way to avoid pop up while launching the web application
    --> You can set in general tab of web template properties the variable screen to false (unmark it) "Display Variable Screen". Check:
    Web Template Parameters
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/14/31fa826d0bd540899b02888bf55df4/frameset.htm
    In this case when I have created a drop down box for company code and then linked it to the variable in planning function
    --> You can use CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTION for your variable. Then read it from drop down box.
    Check:
    Data Binding Type CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTION
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/e7460656b60a29e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
    and
    Dropdown Box
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c0/de413a51ce2e3ae10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    Is this correct that I will have to choose variable value twice. While launching the web application (as a pop up) and then in the drop down once the web application is launched.
    --> If you use a variable for restriction of a query I think this is not correct. Query is restricted by the variable value you can not choose it again from drop down. But you can overwrite this value with dropdown value...
    Check this link how to create planning applications with the WAD...

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/c8240e47460aa5e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    and
    Execute a Planning Function (Simple)
