    <%!
    static void sayHello(ServletOutputStream out){
    out.print("Hello");
    }%>
    <%
    sayHello(response.getOutputStream());%>
    You method can either be static or not, but in both case avoid instance/static variables as you will get concurrency issues
    if you use tomcat, take a look in tomcat/work/catalina/_localhost/org/apache/jsp
    open the .java file generated by the container and you will quickly understand how this works

  • How to call java bean from jsp

    hi
    How to call a java bean from jsp page..
    Is any other way to call javabean from jsp page apart from this sample code...
    <jsp:useBean id="obj" class="com.devsphere.articles.calltag.TestBean"/>
    thnx in advance

    If you also use servlets, you can attach beans to the request or session and use them directly in your JSP's. So if you do:
    request.setAttribute("name", yourBean);and then forward to a JSP, you can reference the bean like:
    ${requestScope.name}

  • How to call HTML page through JSP ?

    that's same i want to do.
    i have a jsp page which chacks the userID & Pass & call the first.html page
    but i dont know how to call html page automaticly.
    Any one can help me
    what i think is this
    tell me is it right or not
    suppose i have made a variable
    String add = "first.html"
    after chacking userID & pass

    erre;
    it will work or not pl tell me

    If you do the redirect with javascript, the user cannot resubmit his login when he presses the refresh button. When he does press refresh, he only refreshes the redirect, not the form post that was before it. When he presses back the redirect will also kick him back in stead of going back to the login page. A simple javascript redirect page would look like this:
    <html>
    <body onload="document.location.href='myhtmlpage.htm';">
    </body>
    </html>But that is only if you care about resubmits of course.

    i got some error.
    i used package concept,that works fine.Then use packages.
    As of Java1.4, you can no longer import classes from the default package (no package declared) into classes that are packaged.
    All Tomcat classes are in packages, including the compiled JSP.
    Therefore: Your classes need to be in a package inorder to be imported and used by the JSP.
    Why the problem? If you know it works with packages, why try not to use them?

Also i want to to know can i place links on my jsp page to download other type of files if i want to give link on my page to download Images or songs how can i do that,
    Help plzzzzzzzzzzzz

    IF You are using jsf then simply <h:outputLink value="file:///D:/Me/Image000.jpg"/>. This generates HTML <a> tag and value attribute replacing with <a> tag's href attribute.If you are using other technologies try to find which tag generates HTML <a> tag.
    I think You also can simply place HTML <a> tag wherever You want

    Hi,
    You have not said if your servlet is in a package in which case which one.
    you need to add the '/servlet/' to the href so it becomes
    '/servlet/test1'.
