How to call a method when initialing the page?

Help! I need to call a method to get some information from server to create a part of the page.
But I don't konw what to do, Is there a function similar to the Flex's createComplete in JavaFX.
please give me an example to show how to do that.

DoStuff();
Stage { scene: Scene { ... }}DoStuff() (or equivalent code at script level) will be executed first.
You can also use the public override function run() function to ensure it is executed first.

  • How to call AMImpl method before loading the page(task_flow_config.xml)

    Hi experts,
    I have requirement like,
    I need to call AmImpl method, before rendering the page.(I heard like we can do it in task_flow_config.xml by using method_Invoke operation,But I am not sure about How it is going to work, also i need to know the implementation part,,,help pls )
    (I need to do in Task_Flow.)
    Inside that method I have some logic, where I will setting the BindVariable of my one ViewObject and I need to run the ViewOblect,So that DataShuold be available while page loading.
    I have some different logic after that,,,,
    can anyone suggest me for this??
    thanks

    thanks to Timo n TK,
    I have use case like,
    In the search page I have 2 LOV dropdowns say LOV1 and LOV2. Both list of values are created based on the independent View Objects based on the Query.
    LOV2 VO query is having the Bind Variable, for that Bind variable will be getting the value from the one of the AM method based on the user logged in.
    Also I need to display LOV2 dropdown in the page when user selects LOV1 as a 'SCM', for others it should be in hidden state.
    As per requirement I have to display LOV2 only for LOV1 value as 'SCM'. So I dont want to use valueChangeListner() for this.
    Instead I want populate LOV2 value before page rendering(because in that time i will be having all the parameter to populate ) by executing LOV2 VO Query.
    Once in search page user selects LOV1 as 'SCM', I should display 'LOV2' values in the dropdown.
    If i execute LOV2 VO in the AMImpl method say A() before page rendering ,then if user select LOV1 as 'SCM', will same data available in the dropdown (LOV2 dropdown is based on the LOV2VO)??
    Can u pls suggest me how can i render ,LOV2 when LOV1 as 'SCM' by using 'rendered' property without having valueChangeListner??
    pls suggest me the right approach as per my use case..
    waiting for reply,,
    Thanks

  • How to call java file when entering the another jsp page.

    when i click the link to link to another page, when enter the page, how can i call java file and passing id parameter to call method, which is connected to DB.
    when enter the page, how can i call java file together with one arguement???

    I would strongly suggest to go the MVC way. Please perform all DB operations through a Servlet/Action instead of directly hitting the JSP and then invoking a java bean to do the DB operation. JSP should only do the rendering.

  • How to call a method when the browser is closing

    Hello,
       In my application I need to execute a specific treatment when the WD4A application is closing.  So how can we have a handle method for this specific event.
       I've seen some documentation about the "exit plugs" , and about the doonclose method of the window.. but I don't think it can be useable for me in this case.
    Can you please help me
    Thanks in Advance
    Hamza

    I wrote an insert into the method i set up a break point, the program never call this code and therefore, the new row is never inserted.
    But i think, it's a misunderstand.
    to summarize :
    I have an application in WD4A
    The application is running, and then I decide to close the browser (in my case internet explorer) and before the browser close I want to execute a piece of code.
    If the method wddoonclose is to be used, is there any default handler or listener to trigger it automatically on the browser closing ?
    If no, how to trigger a method base on this special event .
    Thx

  • How to call a method when navigating records?

    Jdev 11.1.1.2.0
    I have an app displaying records one at a time in a panelFormLayout.
    I have a selectManyShuttle object linked to the form with a PartialTrigger.
    The shuttle is being populated using the methods from the SRDemo app and are functioning correctly when adding/removing records including the correct parent id through the partialtrigger.
    But, the shuttle is not refreshing as the parent record is changed. I have to manually refresh it.
    How can I attach a method call #{backing_MessageTrainingCenters.refreshSelectedList} to fire when the parent record navigates or is there a way to do this automatically?
    Same question with the commit button. I currently have a save button for the shuttle and a commit for the parent. I would like to call the method to save the shuttle records when the commit is pressed.

    What I've done to sort of get this to work
    In the backing bean (using the SRDemo stuff) I changed the refreshSelectedList to use an ActionEvent
    public void refreshSelectedList(ActionEvent event) {
    refreshSelectedList = true;
    I right-clicked one of the the built in nav buttons and told it to create method binding for action then took that method and made it take a string for the operation.
    public String navAction(String navigate) {
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding(navigate);
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
    return null;
    return null;
    I made 4 buttons and set the ActionListener to #{backing_MessagePrograms.refreshSelectedList} on each one then did a create method binding for action.
    Inside each of these methods I made a call to navAction(String navigate) above passing in the operation I want.
    public String cb8_action() {
    cb2_action("First");
    return null;
    This works ok for this single scenario but I have 2 multi select lists to refresh when navigating. So I'm still stuck with trying to tell the other component to refresh.
    I cannot find the "magic" that happens when I click the button with the listener ActionListener set that makes it refresh.
    How can I tell both multiselect components to refresh from one of my methods?
    or
    *How can I set a button to use 2 ActionListeners like #{backing_MessagePrograms.refreshSelectedList} & #{backing_MessageTCs.refreshSelectedList}?*

  • JSF and ADFBC: How to Run a method every time the page is posted back

    Hi everyone,
    I am using ADFBC and JSF in my project, and there is a page which runs the following logic: The page displays a set of radio options and a submit button. It has a total of 4 options, but they never display all at once. For example, when user enters the page for the first time, only selectItem 1 displays. When it clicks on the submit button, the page is posted back and hides the first select item, showing now the second, and so forth. The steps i did to achieve this are:
    1 - Created a method on the App Module that inserts a row corresponding to the select item choice.
    2 - Created another method that verifies which is the lastly entered row and returns a string containing the relevant attribute, for example, "E".
    3 - Created the methodAction binding to run the insertMethod (1) and retrieveMethod (2).
    4 - Created an invokeMethod executable for the retrieveMethod (2) and set the refresh property to "always".
    5 - Created a variableIterator with a variable to hold the retrieveMethod return, also setting the refresh to "always".
    6 - Lastly, bound the "rendered" attribute of each select item to the variable's value, for example "#{bindings.returnVariable == 'E'}
    When i run the page, the logic works almost fine, except for one detail: When the user clicks the button that calls insertMethod, the page is posted back, and i assume the selectItems should be re-rendered accordingly. Yet, the button click inserts the row in the DB (called insertMethod) but keeps showing the previous radio item. If i restart OC4J, when i enter the page again the radio is now correct, showing the next option.
    Do you know how can i tell the page that the model has been refreshed, so it runs the retrieveMethod again, alters the variable and the radio options without having to leave the page or restarting OC4J?
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards
    Thiago Souza

    Hi all,
    It seems i have figured out the error. It was a logic mistake on my method, ADF was doing the refreshes just fine. There is another little question i wanted to ask now: I need to execute a JSF Navigation Case when the page loads, in order to navigate to another page due to a certain condition. is there any way to run some logic to redirect the request before the page has been rendered, just like the onLoad() javascript event runs on the body every time it gets loaded?
    What i'm trying to do exactly is this: When the login.jspx page runs the "success" navigation case, it goes to "page1.jspx". But before "page1.jspx" is loaded, i need to run an Application Module method to check for a certain situation; if this criteria is not met, i must run "fail" navigation case, from "page1.jspx" to "page2.jspx" without ever displaying page1.jspx.
    Is it clear enough? Can you guys give me some pointers on how to do it?
    Thanks a lot!
    Thiago

  • How to call a method defined in AM when I select any value in LOV

    Lets say there is a LOV. The scenario is as soon as I select any value in LOV, a method needs to be called which I have written in the AM. And the output of the method is displayed in a output text box.
    I am not able to understand how to call a method when the user selects any value in LOV.
    This is wht I did. I had created the binding for the method. Changed the autosubmit property of the LOV to True, and in the properties of the output box, in the partial submit trigger property, passed the ID of the LOV. But I didnt get any place where I need to call the method. I am also not able to drop an action listener on the LOV

    Hi,
    +"its showing an error(underlined in orange)."+
    Any reason you don't share this error with us? Anyway, here is how it goes
    1. LOV, set autosubmit="true" and configure a value change listener
    2. Expose the AM method as a method binding in the PageDef file
    3. In the value change listener:
    BindingContext bctx = BindingContxt().getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    OperationBinding method = (OperationBinding) bindings.get("name of method binding in PageDef");
    method.getParamsMap().put("argument name1", value1);
    method.getParamsMap().put("argument name2", value2);
    Object retVal = method.execute();
    if(!method.getErrors().isEmpty()){
      //handle errors
    else{
      //write retVal to the managed bean variable that is referenced by the outputText value property
      //PPR output text component
      ADFFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(outputTextRef);
    }Note that you may have to set clientComponent = "true" on the output text component

  • How to call a method in private section of a class in the public section

    Hi Everybody,
    i have written a method(meth1) in the private section of a class(C1).
    it is as follows
    class C1 definition.
    private section.
    methods: meth1 importing im_dt1 like tp1
                                             im_dt2 like tp2
                                             im_dt3 like tp3
                                             im_dt4 like tp4
                               returning value(re_dt1) like tp5.
    endclass.
    i have the final data that has to be displayed in internal table re_dt1.
    now my question is how to call  this method present in private section into public section and display the data present in re_dt1.
    Thanks,
    learning.abap.

    Hi,
    what you need is one public method being called at start-of-selection. Within this the private methods have to be called.
    The question is, why has the method for reading the database tables to be private? If you have only one private method reading all database tables the public method being called at start-of-selection will only consist of a call-method statement.
    This seems to be one call to much.
    The logic for reading the different database tables is hidden inside the class anyway.
    Is there any further logic reading the different database tables?
    Have always all table to be read? If not another approach would be one private method for each database table being called by a public method deciding which table has to be read:
    public section.
    methods get_data returning value(re_Dt1).
    private section.
    methods:
    get_table_a returning value(im_dt1),
    get_table_b returning value(im_dt2),
    get_table_c returning value(im_dt3),
    get_table_d returning value(im_dt4),
    combine_data importing im_dt1
                                    im_dt2
                                    im_dt3
                                    im_dt4
                            returning value(re_dt1).
    *- implementation of public method:
    method get_data.
      data: lt_dt1 ...
               lt_dt2,
               lt_dt3,
               lt_dt4.
    * here decide which tables have to be read:
    lt_dt1 = get_table_a( ).
    lt_dt2 = get_table_b( ).
    lt_dt3 = get_table_c( ).
    lt_dt4 = get_table_d( ).
    re_dt1 = combine_data( i_dt1 = lt_dt1
                                           i_dt2 = lt_dt2
                                           i_dt3 = lt_dt3
                                           i_dt4 = lt_dt4 ).
    endmethod.
    *- implementation of private methods
    method get_table_a.
    endmethod.
    method get_table_b.
    endmethod.
    method get_table_c.
    endmethod.
    method get_table_d.
    endmethod.
    method combine_data.
    endmethod.

  • How to call a method in the servlet from an applet

    I want to get the data for the applet from the servlet.
    How to call a method that exits in the servlet from the applet? I want to use http protocol to do this.
    Any suggestions? Please help.
    thanks

    Now that Web Services is around, I'd look at possibly implement a Web Service call in your applet, which can then be given back any object(s) on return. Set up your server side to handle Web Service calls. In this way, you can break the applet out into an application should you want to (with very little work) and it will still function the same

    folks.. i am sending my class object on Sockets from client to Server (i am implementing Seriablizable Interface).
    No your aren't.
    You are sending the data in the class.
    That is what serialization does. (And actually not all data can be sent either.)
    When i get the object on server, i am able to print all its fields and methods... But i have one problem. I want to invoke a simple static method that just prints "hello".. The method on client that i am trying to invoke is....You probably either need stop attempting that or re-architect the solution.
    It is possible to send a class (not data) to another computer and that computer runs it. That is how applets work.
    But for that to work you must send the class. And deal with how the VM loads and unloads classes (not data) as well.

  • How to call a method from a separate class using IBAction

    I can't work out how to call a method form an external class with IBAction.
    //This Works 1
    -(void)addCard:(MyiCards *)card{
    [card insertNewCardIntoDatabase];
    //This works 2
    -(IBAction) addNewCard:(id)sender{
    //stuff -- I want to call [card insertNewCardIntoDatabase];
    I have tried tons of stuff here, but nothing is working. When i build this I get no errors or warnings, but trying to call the method in anyway other that what is there, i get errors.

    Can you explain more about what you are trying to do? IBAction is just a 'hint' to Interface Builder. It's just a void method return. And it's unclear what method is where from your code snippet below. is addNewCard: in another class? And if so, does it have a reference to the 'card' object you are sending the 'insertNewCardIntoDatabase' message? Some more details would help.
    Cheers,
    George

  • Beginner's query: How to call a method on close of a frame?

    Hi. I wrote a frame that inherits from JFrame. There I called *"setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE)"* (more or less). I now wish that the frame would call a method when it closes.
    How can I define that? I assume some action listeners should be added, but I would appreciate a thorough reply.
    Thank you!!

    Could someone please explain to me the main difference between adapters and listeners? WindowListener is an interface, if you use it then you have to implement all its methos whether you use then or not while WindowAdapter is a class which implements WindowListener and provides empty implementations of all the methods in the listener, so basically by using windowAdapter you are avoiding
    the implementation of methods which you don't required.

    How to Manually Fix Updates on Adobe Photoshop CS6 (from 13.0.3 to 13.0.6) on Mac with Retina Display |
    Basically, all you have to do is update the Application Manager (if your installation was like mine, I was still on v.6... it's up to v.9 now.  Go here for the update: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager and run it... when done, launch Photoshop and check for updates.
    This is amazingly idiotic, I must add -- how does App Manager NOT update itself through the update process???
