How to call FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST in forms

hi,
i tried to submit concurrent request from forms by using FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST() stored procedure. i passed all the required parameters.
This is the code
l_request_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST(
'AR',
'XXSSIIBCLCON',
null
When compile this in WHEN BUTTON PRESSED trigger it throws the following error
Error 707: unsupported construct or internal error(2601)
Please help me to fix this error
Thanks,
Khan

This issue has been fixed by including the library GLCORE.pll and adding the below code while submitting the concurrent request
gl_working.work_begin;
req_id := fnd_request.submit_request(
'AR',
'XXARALDL', '', '', FALSE,
-- Failure in submission the concurrent request.
IF (req_id = 0) then
gl_working.work_end;
fnd_message.retrieve;
fnd_message.error;
Raise Form_Trigger_Failure;
END IF;
gl_working.work_end;
-- Show the concurrent request id.
gl_message.show( 'GL_REQUEST_SUBMITTED',
'REQUEST_ID',
to_char( req_id ) );
gl_working.work_begin;
-- Commit the concurrent request submission and the form.
app_form.set_message_level(25);
app_standard.event( 'KEY-COMMIT' );
app_form.reset_message_level;
gl_working.work_end;

  • FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST via forms erroring in CM with PLS-00306

    Hello,
    I have a form that needs to submit a custom concurrent program when a button is pressed on a form. The code is in the when-button-pressed trigger and is as follows:
    declare
         v_req_id NUMBER;
         v_project_name VARCHAR2(32);
         v_subject VARCHAR2(70);
         v_message VARCHAR2(240);
         v_email_from VARCHAR2(30):= 'PROJECT_EMAIL';
         v_email_to VARCHAR2(30):= 'BONNI_SMITH';
         v_yes_no VARCHAR2(1) := 'Y';
    begin
         select :TFN_PROJECT_DETAILS.project_num||' '||:tfn_project_details.project_desc
         into v_project_name
         from dual;
         select 'PROJECT '||:tfn_project_details.project_num||' NOTIFICATION'
         into v_subject
         from dual;
         select v_project_name||' project has been created in the project system'
         into v_message
         from dual;
         FND_MESSAGE.DEBUG('proj name: '||V_PROJECT_NAME);
         FND_MESSAGE.DEBUG('message: '||V_MESSAGE);
         FND_MESSAGE.DEBUG('subject: '||V_SUBJECT);
    v_req_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST
    ('TALBOTS',
    'TFNSENDEMAIL',
    'TFN_PROJECT_DETAILS',
    FALSE,
    v_email_from,
    v_email_to,
    v_subject,
    v_message,
    v_yes_no,
         FND_MESSAGE.DEBUG(v_req_id);
    IF (v_req_id = 0) then
    fnd_message.retrieve;
    fnd_message.error;
    Raise Form_Trigger_Failure;
    ELSE
         FND_MESSAGE.SET_STRING('Email Request submitted. Request ID '|| v_req_id);
    fnd_message.show;
    :tfn_project_details.last_email_date := sysdate;
    APP_STANDARD.EVENT('KEY-COMMIT');
    END IF;
    end;
    This code gives me an error in the request log of: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SEND_EMAIL'
    I have verified that the type of the arguments is correct, so I am assuming that it is upset over the number? I have recounted several times and come up with the 100 required. I have also changed the parameters from hard-coded to parameters and it has made no difference. I even put an 'x' in the last parameter to make sure that the entire string is being passed, and when I look in the request sable it is there in the table data as the 100th parm. I have made sure that the varaibles in the trigger match the lengths and types of the parameters in the CM program.
    I have practically the same trigger submitting a different CM job and it works perfectly. Both CM requests are custom host scripts.
    Can anyone offer help on this?

    I shortened the code and the error is:
    "could not be evaluated because of error ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected"
    This isn't of much help to me.

  • How to call reports 6i or forms 6i directly from oracle procedure

    Hi,
    Hi,
    Env: 6.0.8.25.2 (forms 6i/reports 6i)
    Database: Oracle 10g r2
    We are running a client server environment and not web based.
    I want to run the forms 6i or reports 6i directly from a database procedure/function and not by creating a procedure inside a form and then call a report.
    Looking for calling forms6i/reports 6i directly from sql*plus commands used inside the PLSQL database procedure/function. (Just like we create a stand alone package/procedure/function).
    I have developed many forms and reports and very comfortable in calling reports from forms 6i.
    My question was completely different but looks like i was not able to explain properly:
    I want to call the forms 6i or reports 6i directly from sqlplus* prompt and through stand alone oracle database procedure/function (procedure created directly in database but not as a program unit within form or report).
    There is a requirement to call the form through database scheduling by passing fixed parameters and then generate the report pdf and email automatically to various users.
    Also, is there any way to schedule a report automatically so that the report runs automatically in the scheduled time and send out reports to the users. I have developed a email program but looking for scheduling the report or forms 6i.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    There are couple of existing reports and forms developed in 6i and users are using them when required.
    For certain MIS reports, management wants them to be generated on daily/weekly basis and email to be sent to them as PDF files.
    Have a program which will convert to PDF and email to users but not able to trace on how to call the forms 6i or reports 6i and pass the report parameters so that the report is called directly through pl/sql so that i can schedule them.
    All the forms and report executables are located on server1 and database server is located in server2 and running on client/server architecture.
    Database version is 10g r2 and Forms/Reports version is 6i.
    Any code samples would be of great use.

  • How to call a report in forms?

    Hello
    I want to call a report in forms, but it always failures and I couldn't find any whitepapers or anything else on OTN.
    I'm using reports & forms 10g release 2 and a standalone forms & reports service (release2).
    I've created a simple report and store it as .jsp which based on view (already exist with data). In forms I create a button and I just want to show it on a seperate window (as PDF).
    How does it work? And which set_report_object_property do I need?
    Thanks in advance for any ideas or links

    I put a pic on the web of my standalone forms&reports service.
    I couldn't figure out, what is the problem there. Start time of reports service is not available!

  • How to Call Image Viewer from Form application

    Hi,
    how to call Image viewer using host command on oracle form 6i.
    i trying using host command on local/client application .. and it is working ...
    but when i try on server application (EBS - UNIX) it does not working ...
    thanks ..
    regards,
    safar

    Are you using Forms 6i in client/server mode or web deployed? I'm not sure what you mean by 'try on server application"
    Remember that when using a web deployed architecture, a host command will execute the command on the Forms application server, NOT on the client.
    To execute host commands on the client you would have to use WebUtil, but that's not available for Forms 6i. Perhaps there are PJC's out there that can do it for you, but I don't want to get in all those details without me knowing if it is relevant for you.

  • How to call Java class from Forms 6i?

    Hi friends,
    I need to call a Java class from my Forms 6i application.
    (It runs under WIndows XP. It's a client/server application and I have only the client and the Form builder installed on my PC)
    I don't know almost anything about Java's world so your help would be very useful for me.
    Could you tell me exactly what i have to do?
    I've read in metalink several Notes, but they supposed that the Java architecture is already installed in the computer.... I only have the default installation of Developer 6i... so I would need to know:
    - How to install/configure the neccesary to execute Java classes without problem
    - How to invoke the .class from Forms 6i.
    Thanks a lot
    Jose.

    And also this one:
    Problem Description
    Installed Forms 6i Rel 2 on a MS Windows machine. When trying to Import the Java
    Classes getting the errors
    PDE-UJI0001 Failed to create the JVM
    Solution Description
    You need to to install JDK 1.2.2 to run the Java Importer. And set the PATH's
    and classpath's correctly.
    Explanation
    1. Download and install the JDK 1.2.2.
    Possibly available at: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/
    2. Assuming the JDK 1.2.2 is installed in c:\jdk1.2.2 directory and the JRE in
    C:\PROGRA~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.2 directory; ORACLE_HOME=C:\Dev6iR2.
    Set the PATH to
    set PATH=c:\jdk1.2.2\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.2\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\JAVASOFT\JRE\1.2\bin\classic;%PATH%
    ( If you are using ias9i then the JDK 1.2.2 comes with the ias installtion ,
    in this case please set the PATH to
    D:\ias9i\Apache\jdk\bin;D:\ias9i\Apache\jdk\jre\bin;D:\ias9i\Apache\jdk\jre\bin\classic;%PATH% )
    3. Set the CLASSPATH to set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\Dev6iR2\TOOLS\COMMON60\JAVA\IMPORTER.JAR;.
    (If you do not set the CLASSPATH correctly you will get the error
    PDE-UJI002 Unable to find the required java importer classes)
    4. Now run the Forms Builder by using the command.
    C:\Dev6iR2\bin\ifbld60.exe
    Now the Java Importer Should Run fine.

    i am doing for that line id? can someone help me as how to call this form?
    sudharshan

    Hi Prashanth,
    I dont think so OPEN_FORM will work out here.
    If we want to call new form/open form insted of using call_form / open_form/ New _form
    we need to use FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE which allows you to open forms without bypassing Oracle Applications security, and takes care of finding the
    correct directory path for the form.
    here FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE is similar to APP_NAVIGATE.EXECUTE,
    except that APP_NAVIGATE.EXECUTE allows a form to be restarted if
    it is invoked a second time.
    So in the parameters of FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE,
    open_flag indiacates Y/N.
    ’Y’ indicates that OPEN_FORM should be used;
    ’N’ indicates that NEW_FORM should be used.
    You should always pass ’Y’ for open_flag, which
    means to execute the function using the Oracle
    Forms OPEN_FORM built–in rather than the
    NEW_FORM built–in
    i think sudharshan is using the right method FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE.

  • How to call a report from form in developer suite 10g

    i want to call report from a form that is developed in Builder 10g. Reprot is also built in Reports Builder 10g. I now want to run report through form.Please give me any solution.

    I am finding that this document is unhelpful also with respect to running a form which calls the report in the testing environment of Oracle Developer Suite. I have Googled for forms integration with reporting and most refer to this document, but it does not help.
    I have download and used the "run_report_object_doc" procedure they provided, along with a supporting function. And used that.
    This document indicates that if the sever is not specified then it will use the in-process server. This does not happen. When I do not specify the server I get the notorious "FRM-41211: Integration error: SSL failure running another product." I suspected that the in-process server is not getting called.
    When I look through the rwservlet.properties file I find that the servlet is configured with in=process "yes". I have since changed this file so that a server is actually named. I called it "local".
    This time a local.conf file is created, not a rep_local.conf file as indicated in the documentation. Anyhow when I try the form again I get the same FRM-41211 message.
    Alternatively, I have change the report invocation parameters to supply a server name "local". This time I no longer get the FRM-41211 message. I get the error FRM-41214: Unable to run report.
    When I use the servlet to get information, I get (can anyone see any setting that is a problem?):

    hi,
    here is a quick example : (data from url returns as a clob. you need to write it at db. and call from forms.)
    FUNCTION Get_DataFromUrl(pUrl IN VARCHAR2,pProxy IN VARCHAR2,pData IN OUT CLOB) RETURN NUMBER IS
    vRcv UTL_HTTP.HTML_PIECES;
    vData CLOB;
    eNoDataReceived EXCEPTION;
    BEGIN
    UTL_HTTP.SET_DETAILED_EXCP_SUPPORT(TRUE);
    -- Get data pieces from Url
    vRcv := UTL_HTTP.REQUEST_PIECES(pUrl,Proxy => pProxy);
    IF vRcv.COUNT < 1 THEN
    RAISE eNoDataReceived;
    ELSE
    -- Append varchar2 table data into clob variable
    DBMS_LOB.CreateTemporary(vData,FALSE,DBMS_LOB.CALL);
    FOR i IN 1..vRcv.COUNT LOOP
    DBMS_LOB.WriteAppend(vData,LENGTH(vRcv(i)),vRcv(i));
    END LOOP;
    -- Copy local data into return variable
    DBMS_LOB.Copy(pData,vData,DBMS_LOB.GetLength(vData));
    DBMS_LOB.FreeTemporary(vData);
    END IF;
    RETURN SUCCESS;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN eNoDataReceived THEN
    RETURN FAILURE;
    WHEN UTL_HTTP.INIT_FAILED THEN
    RETURN FAILURE;
    WHEN UTL_HTTP.Request_Failed THEN
    RETURN FAILURE;
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RETURN FAILURE;
    END Get_DataFromUrl;
    hope this helps.
