How to chage defautl ADF PPR behaviour for a component?

I have a heavy page with lot of text fields. On value change of any of this field I am sending a request to server side for calculation. On execution of this request, result is displayed to user. I am using PPR for this.
But my service execution is heavy and takes time. I need to allow user to change input when service is being executed on server side. However result should be displayed for the last request.
Is it possible to override the default implementation of ADF PPR? How to achieve it?
Is there any alternative to achieve this requirement?
I would appreciate any help!!

  • How to Develop with ADF Business Components for Multiple Databases

    Hi,
    I developed business component by http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/multidatabaseapp-085183.html tutorial. it was work on mysql and oracle database. In mysql , Set Up Primary Key Generation is only one sequence share betweeen tables. How to make another sequence each mysql table?

    juddi,
    As that article states, the built-in capability of ADF BC uses that single table for all entities (tables) - since it's just a surrogate key, it should not matter. If you wanted different sequences for different entities (tables), that is something you'd have to code for yourself.

  • How to chage the display name in SC browser for the custome fields?

    Hi,
    I created 2 custom fields for Shopping cart in SRM. How to chage the display name in SC browser for this custome fields?
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    when you have defined your customer fields, you have created new fields in the CUF structures. The labels displayed on the SC screen come from the data element you have assigned to those cust fields in the include structure.
    If you have used a std data element, then you can change its translation (attention, this will impact all structures, tables... abap objects using this data element).
    If you have created a Z data element, then adapt its description accordingly.

  • How to Enable the LOV to query for partial user entries in af:query in an ADF search form

    Hi guys,
    I have faced one issue in creating a search form in ADF, in that I have used af:query and table region. and I have attached an lov vo to the base vo for the list of values and given UI hint as Input values with List of values. Now the issue is that I have given auto submit property as true so when I give some value suppose "Jan-14" and tab out it gives me all the correct results. but if I give like "Jan%" and then tab out then it does not give me any value. Could you kindly help me with some solution. I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0.
    Thanks,
    Tanmoy

    To enable the LOV to query for partial user entries, we can trap the 'LaunchPopupListener' event and add custom code there. Within the af:query component, just wondering how can we set property the 'LaunchPopupListener' for the search criteria ?

  • How to set the Data Synchronisation mode for ADF BC component?

    Hi All,
    How to set the Data Synchronisation mode for ADF BC component
    Thanks
    Raghavendra

    Can you clarify what you mean by the data synchronization mode?
    If you mean the Sync Mode, then in 10.1.3 you set this property by:
    1. Selecting your DataBindings.cpx file
    2. Expanding the "Data Control Usages" section in the structure window
    3. Selecting the ADFBC-based data control
    4. Setting the "syncMode" property in the property inspector.

  • How to extend and customize EarHcmAnalytics.ear for OTBI reporting

    The requirement is to extend the ADF objects that's serving the OBIEE application for OTBI, see the line between OBIEE and BI VO's in [OTBI architecture |http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/fusionapps.1111/e21363/frameset.htm?ch02s01s01s01.html] and [VO for OTBI|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/fusionapps.1111/e15524/adv_bi_vos.htm#BEICJFHA] . In this case, the EAR file is EarHcmAnalytics.ear. This EAR file does not have any class that provide customization. I've compared this EAR EarHcmAnalytics.ear vs the EarHcmCompensation.ear to verify that there is no Ext*.jar nor any customization classes in the adf-config.xml. Although I've updated the jdev.conf's ide.extension.extra.search.path to point to the exploded hcmAnalytics EAR, JDev didn't find any customization class in the adf-config.xml. Normally, if there's a customization class specified and not class found, the error message would indicate that customization is disabled because it could not load the customization class.
    In the adf-config.xml for the hcmAnalytics EAR, I try to find any class similar to this section in the adf-config.xml for hcmCompensation EAR but found none.
    Excerpted from adf-config.xml of hcmCompensation EAR
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.customization.GlobalCC"/>
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.customization.SiteCC"/>
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.customization.EnterpriseCC"/>
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.hcm.common.core.HcmCountryCC"/>
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.hcm.common.core.HcmOrganizationCC"/>
    <mds:customization-class name="oracle.apps.fnd.applcore.customization.UserCC"/>
    Logically, having no customization class might make sense because this hcmAnalytics application is not end-user facing, i.e. NO USER would login to this application. It's strictly an integration point as the data source/web service to be invoked from the RPD of the OBIEE application. It's not intended to support the usual personalization, and different layer customization for a Fusion transactional application. This hcmAnalytics EAR has no UI classes, only ADF BC ones.
    However, the question remain, if my company need to change the VO objects that are exposed to the OTBI reports, how could we extend (changing existing seeded VO's in EAR) or Customize (adding new VO object into EAR)? Here are business scenarios for each case:
    1. Extend existing VO: A OTBI report need to have new column which is missing from current VO. My company need to modify/extend the existing VO using customization class or some other method, then re-import/add the new VO column into RPD so report could pull data from new column. What is the solution to extend/modify existing VO that are in EarHcmAnalytics.ear file?
    2. Add new VO: A company-specific security requirement need to pull in OTBI report data from new table(s) that doesn't existing in seeded Fusion DB. New VO must be built, preferably in same EarHcmAnalytics.ear so we reuse the same ADF connection pool in RPD. I need to create new VO, AM and put the JAR file in the APP-INF/lib. But we also need to rebuild/repackage the whole EarHcmAnalytics.ear file. So what kind of project we should use so we could add new VO and repackage the EarHcmAnalytics.ear properly because a MAR deployment is not sufficient.
    Lastly is there Oracle document somewhere that explain this setup? We have seen information for extending/customizing Fusion transactional Application (EarHcmCompensation.ear), but not the ADF-BC analytics application (EarHcmAnalytics.ear) for the OTBI. If such info exists, please provide links or notes.
    Thanks
    -Duc

    Hi Jani,
    After startup, in Customization Context window, I see it defaults to "View without Customizations" radio box checked; Grey-ed out option to "Edit with following Customization Context"; nothing listed in layer; Customization Context: None; and link to "Overide global layer values".
    I could filter to any ADFbc VO object, but customize menu in right click is disabled (make sense since nothing is listed in customization context, e.g. global). If I click on link to "Override global layer values", it would open an empty XML window but I'm not clear what to override.
    My understanding is to allow customization, a few things must be present and set
    * Enabled Seeded customization is selected in project properties' ADF view
    * Project should have CustomizationLayerValues.xml file to define which layer can be customized (what to show in customization context list of the "Customization Context" window)
    * List of ADF customization class names in adf-config.xml
    * Actual customization classes found and loaded from classpath by JDev
    I assume that the hcmAnalytics should still have the CustomizationLayerValues.xml to allow global layer customization for ADFbc components rather than forcing client to make up/override this file. How can I get "global layer" to be visible for customization context?
    Complete message lists in Jdev's Messages - log pane after startup
    Customizations are disabled for the node "JobPVO.xml" because it is not part of the project contentset.

    However, i want to display only the users that a particular person accessing the page has the AUTH LEVEL to see. e.g. If the person accessing the page is an 'ApplicationAdministrator' then the page should display all users in the table, If its a 'DistributorAdministrator' then the page should display only users associated with that Distributor (i.e. assoc_dist_id = :p_Dist_id ) and If its an 'AgentAdministrator' , then the page should display only users associated with that Agent ( i.e. assoc_agent_id = :p_Agent_id).
    Currently my af:table component displays all the users in the table because the query for the view object is (select * from users) . However, i want to use the same viewobject and just set the where-clause at runtime with the appropriate parameter to restrict the dataset returned.
    Do anyone knows how to accomplish this ?

    David,
    See the custom method initializeDynamicVariableDefaults() in the SRViewObjectImpl.java class in the FrameworkExtentions project in the SRDemoSampleADFBC sample application. You can find out how to install the demo if you haven't already from the ADF Learning Center at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html
    This class is a framework extension class for view objects that adds a neat, generic feature to be able to dynamic default the value of named bind variables. You can read more about what framework extension classes are and how to use them in Chapter 25, "Advanced Business Components Techniques" of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers, also available at the learning center above.
    It is an example of generic framework functionality that "kicks in" based on the presence of custom metadata properties on a named bind variable. See section 25.3.3 "Implementing Generic Functionality Driven by Custom Properties" in the dev guide for more details. Using this sample code, if you add a bind variable to a view object, and define a custom metadata property named "DynamicDefaultValue" on that bind variable, and set this custom metadata property to the value "CurrentUser", then that bind variable will have its value dynamically defaulted to the name of the authenticated user logged in. If instead you set this custom property to the value "UserRole", then the bind variable will be set to the comma-separated string containing the list of roles that the authenticated user is part of.
    Once you've created a framework extension class for view objects like this, you can have the view objects you create inherit this generic functionality.See section 25.1.4 "How to Base an ADF Component on a Framework Extension Class" in the dev guide for more info on this.
    By adapting a technique like this (or some idea similar that better suits your needs) you can have your view object query contain bind variables whose values automatically take on the defaults based on something in the user-session environment.

  • How can i use ADF code in Trinidad

    Hi,
    I'm having an small Application which is Implemented to some extent using oracle ADF faces components But now, as the Trinidad is an open source i would like to do it in trinidad.
    If i replace the libraries to trinidad does my implement code in ADF Faces components needs to be Change,
    Please Suggest me how can use my ADF code in Trinidad.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the Information a lot,it will helps me a lot.
    i am unable to navigate to down load the libraries given in oracle site in "How-to configure Apache Trinidad components in Oracle JDeveloper " can u help me,
    how can i get libraries to use in Oracle Jdeveloper for Trinidad.
    Can i use the libraries given on the Apache MyFaces Trinidad site (http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/download.html) but the libraries are different than the oracle given.

  • How to Call an ADF Bounded Task Flow Located in Another Web Application

    Hi.
    I'm working in JDev 11G TP3.
    I've read the section from the 11G documentation on Working with Task Flow Activities,
    specifically the section 15.5.3 on How to Call an ADF Bounded Task Flow Located in Another Web Application.
    I've followed the instructions but still can not seem to call another task flow in another application correctly.
    Can someone send a small example specifying how the (TaskFlow Reference) section
    should be filled in, and just a general simple outline of process to set the whole process up.
    Thanks

    Your EL for the remote-app-url needs to return something like this
    "http://www.acme.com:80/myapp/faces/adf.task-flow"
    where "http://www.acme.com:80/myapp/faces" is the root of the url you'd normally use to access the remote application.
    I filed two bugs:
    bug 6944247 to improve the documentation
    bug 6944246 to fix the fact that you currently have to specify the 'adf.task-flow' part. You shouldn't need to do that. But doing so for now will get it to work.

  • How to initialize an adf component before a page loads

    Hi all
    I use JDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0
    I have two pages:
    first page has a link to a second page
    <af:document title="first.jspx" id="d1">
      <af:form id="f1">
        <af:commandLink text="Page 2" id="cl1" action="goToSecondPage" actionListener="#{Bean.handleLinkActionEvent}"/>
      </af:form>
    </af:document>and the second page has an inputText component:
    <af:document title="second.jspx" id="d1">
      <af:form id="f1">
        <af:inputText label="Text" id="it1" binding="#{Bean.inputText}" readOnly="true"/>
      </af:form>
    </af:document>First I load first.jspx and than I click the link. This event is handled in handleLinkActionEvent() method, in which I want to set a value to the inputText component of the second page. But I can't do it, because as expected I get NullPointerException.
    So the question is how to initialize an adf component before a page loads?

    Thanks a lot for your replies and links, it gives me some new knowledges.
    I got your approach and achieved the aim for the described situation with tag <f:setPropertyActionListener>:
    <af:commandLink text="Page 2" id="cl1" action="goToSecondPage"
                           actionListener="#{Bean.handleLinkActionEvent}" binding="#{Bean.firstPageLink}">
      <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{pageFlowScope.text}" value="Hello, World!"/>
    </af:commandLink>and for the inputText component I set the value:
    <af:inputText label="Text" id="it1"  binding="#{Bean.inputText}"
                                  readOnly="true" value="#{pageFlowScope.text}"/>I used request scoped managed bean and it is shared for both pages.
    I understand that I can set a value of some attribute for managed bean
    and use it to set a value for inputText component of the second page,
    but as I understand it is almost the same way as usage of tag <f:setPropertyActionListener>.
    In my real situation on the second page I have a dynamic table, and it's field is read only.
    Structure of this table depends on a link clicked on the first page.
    So I define components for table columns in runtime, it may be outputText, inputDate, goLink and some others.
    And I have to get table through the UIComponent binding to set columns.
    Certainly I can define all needed components for all columns
    and render it according to the column types
    <af:table value="#{Bean.collectionModel}" var="row" id="t1" binding="#{Bean.mainTable}">
       <af:forEach items="#{Bean.columnDescriptionList}" var="column">
          <af:column headerText="#{column.caption}" id="c1">
             <af:outputText value="#{row[column.fieldName]}" id="ot1" rendered="#{column.type == '1'}"/>
             <af:inputDate value="#{row[column.fieldName]}" id="ot2" rendered="#{column.type == '2'}"/>
             <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id="sbc1" selected="#{row[column.fieldName] == '1'}" rendered="#{column.type == 'n'}"/>
          </af:column>
       </af:forEach>
    </af:table>but I think it is not very good.
    Have you any idea?
    P.S. I hope I clearly explained my situation =)

    Is there a way to change the default file clicking behaviour for all users? Each user can do it himself by going via the username menu ("Personal Preferences", "When clicking on a file...") but I would prefer to set it for all users to a value that is different from the default.

  • ADF 10g support for Internet Explorer 8

    hi
    Working with Oracle support (in SR 7732252.994) we first reached this conclusion ...
    "Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 is not a supported for the ADF Faces applications built using JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0"
    When I subsequently asked ...
    "Will there be a JDeveloper 10g release (post 10.1.3.5.0) that will support IE8 ?"
    ... the answer was ...
    "Jdeveloper 10.1.3.5 is the last release in the Jdeveloper 10g branch and there will be no more releases after 10.1.3.5.
    Therefore, there will be no support for IE 8 in the Jdeveloper 10g branch."
    question
    (q1)What is supposed to happen to ADF 10g production applications deployed in an environment that allows little control over the browser that is used (extranet/internet)?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Thanks for your reply Shay.
    We plan to officially support IE8 with the next patch release to JDeveloper 11g - currently planned for later this year.That matches what I wrote in my initial post in this forum thread about IE8 support.
    We usually only certify browsers after they officially go production.That does not really answer my question (q1) in this forum thread.
    It is more like, how can I assess that Oracle will support any successor(s) of IE8 or successor(s) of any currently supported browsers for ADF 11g applications in the future? How long will Oracle support "commonly used browsers" for an ADF 11g application I build today, so how long will I be able to use that application?
    How do I answer such questions for ADF 11g applications that should be deployed on the internet (where, as some extranet environments, you typically have not that much (or no) control over which browsers your users use ... although some would like to argue with that, see forum thread "ADF Faces RC browser support and browser market share")?
    (By the way, do you have any feedback for the forum thread "ADF 10g support for Internet Explorer 8"?)
    regards
    Jan
