How to Change Spry Menu Links

I have a Spry Horizontal Menu on my page, and have a few
questions on creating customized Links:
- I know how to add a Link to my Reports, Pages, etc using
the Link Properties box
- I also know how to open the Link in a _blank page using the
Target property box
But
- How do I change the Menu Link in code to open my new page
in a smaller, new window?
(Right now, the TicketSummaryAcct.cfm page opens up fine, in
a new "full-sized" window)
Here is the code currently listed under that Menu button:
<li><a href ="reports/TicketSummaryAcct.cfm"
title="Click here to print the report by Account Number to PDF"
target=>_blank">by Acct# Prompt</a></li>
Thanks,
jlig

In the header of the webpage:
<script type="text/javascript">
function popUp(URL) {
day = new Date();
id = day.getTime();
eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "',
'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=350,height=300 ');");
</script>
in the link section:
javascript:popUp('reports/TicketSummaryAcct.cfm')
don't use a target attribute, as it will break the javascript
in my experience. If you are using the pop-ups in more than 1
webpage, or even for good programming practices, make a function
page.
Webpage name: newWindow.js
function popUp(URL) {
day = new Date();
id = day.getTime();
eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "',
'toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=0,width=350,height=300 ');");
And then in the header of the webpage(s) that you need the
popup for, add this:
<script src="newWindow.js"
type="text/javascript"></script>

  • Spry menu link text cut off in IE8

    I have built a website in Dreamweaver using a horizontal spry menu bar. The site works everywhere when I tested it in all browsers on several different computers. However, when someone else checked it on their computer, the text on the links is cut off. Like where the link says Neurosurgery, it bumps up against the edge of that link and cuts off half of the word. The shorter text links aren't cut off, but they aren't centered. They are using IE 8, which I checked it on and it worked fine on my computer. Turns out his computer isn't the only one doing this, but I can't seem to replicate the problem on my computer even though we are using the same browser. I have had him clear his cache and it hasn't helped. The site is kyneurosurgery.com. I included a photo of what the text is doing on the other computer. I'm not sure how to even begin trying to fix the problem since I can't see it on my computer.

    Please read the following.
    How to Get Help Quickly
    This is a user-to-user forum. Unless you see EMPLOYEE under a screen name, you should assume the poster is an upaid volunteer. Everyone's time is valuable, including yours. The following tips will help you get answers more quickly:
    DO
    Check the Dreamweaver FAQ. The answer to your question might already be there.
    Give your post a meaningful subject line, indicating of the nature of the problem.
    Give sufficient details (such as operating system, browser, hardware platform, and other relevant information) for others to understand the nature of the problem, but don't go overboard. Short, focused questions tend to get answered more quickly.
    If your problem concerns a web page that doesn't display as expected, upload the page to a public website and give the URL. But don't post links to anything you don't want indexed by a search engine. Create a test folder on the site, and remove the page when the problem has been solved.
    Give details of any error messages.
    Say briefly what you have done to try to solve the problem yourself.
    If your question involves a database or server-side technology, such as PHP, ColdFusion, or ASP, say which one, and include it in the subject line.
    DON'T
    Don't post a series of questions in a single post. Splitting them into separate threads increases your chances of a quick answer.
    Don't repeat the same question in different forums, as this makes it harder for both you and those trying to help you to keep track of progress. Duplicate posts will be deleted.
    When someone has answered your question, don't start asking more questions in the same thread. Keeping threads separate with clear subject lines makes it easier for others who might have the same problem to find the information they need.
    Don't be impatient. If you don't get an answer in 24 hours, post a follow-up question in the same thread, asking if you need to give more details. The lack of replies might also indicate that no one else knows the answer.\
    Don't hijack existing topics by replying with unrelated questions or suggestions. Start a new discussion thread so your question stands out.
    When your question has been answered
    If you started the thread, buttons like those in the following screenshot will appear at the bottom of each reply. Use these buttons to indicate that you have been helped or that you have received a satisfactory answer. You can choose up to two answers as "helpful" and one as "correct". Once selected, you cannot change your mind. Marking answers like this helps others identify solutions to their own problems.

  • How to make Spry menu and submenu backgrounds different

    Hi all. I have a horizontal spry menu bar, and i'm using a gradient image for the background of the main menu, but I want the submenu to just be a solid color. I figure i should just be able to use css for this solid BG, but I can create an image no problem if need be. I just think it looks unprofessional to have multiple segments of a horizontal gradient stacked vertically. I know this is possible, the second to last example on this link demonstrates but doesn't explain:

    The idea with putting the new styles *after* the original styles is that they are logically similar to but 'sub' styles to existing styles. In fact, you could probably put them way at the bottom, but if you wanted to edit them you might not find them again easily. I was trying to keep similar style rules together.

  • How to change Spry SUBMENU padding??

    I changed the menu padding, which also changed the submenu.  How can I override the Menu padding CSS and choose a different padding for the submenus?  Which CSS rule will let me do this?

    It depends on which version of Spry you're using.    If it's Spry 2.0 look for this in your embedded CSS code:
    #MenuBar .SubMenu .MenuItem .MenuItemLabel {
        text-align:left;
        line-height:1em;
        background-color:#ffffff;
        color:#333333;
        padding: 6px 12px 6px 5px;
        width: 7em;
        width:auto;

My requirement is as follows.I have created xml form by using xml template and i displayed this xml form by using Km document iview.  I need tochange the hyper link color in the xml form content. I dont want to go for manual process by editing the xml form. because i have several hundreds of xml forms.

    Ramana

    Hi Ramana,
    The most convenient way to change the hyper links is by using the Theme Editor. Go to System Administration --> Portal Display --> Select Theme --> Component-Specific Styles --> Links --> Function/Result Link.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to fix Spry Menu bar and Firefox with a Mac

  • Changing Spry Menu Background

    So I decided to spice up my page a little by adding a
    background image to my spry menu buttons.
    After creating an image I went to "ul.MenuBarVertical a" and
    set my new image as the background, worked fine.
    Same image with a triangle on right for a submenu button in
    "ul.MenuBarVertical a.MenuBarItemSubmenu" worked fine.
    Hover image in "ul.MenuBarVertical a:hover,
    ul.MenuBarVertical a:focus" works fine.
    But I can't seem to change the background image for hovering
    over a submenu button. I assumed it would go in "ul.MenuBarVertical
    a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover" but when I hover over it the image just
    isn't right. I've looked at all the rules for my spry menu and have
    no idea what is wrong, help please, thanks in advance.

  • How to TroubleShoot Spry Menu Bar 2.0

    A few days ago I red David Powers article Styling and inserting a Spry Menu Bar 2.0 widget with the Adobe Widget Browser.
    I was very curious about this tool, since I was working on styling menu bars for my website.  I studied David’s article carefully and worked my way through the tutorial.
    A few hours later I had designed a perfect menu bar, including a specific Bevel and Emboss style, that was exactly the way I wanted it for My website.
    Although the menu that I had designed was not properly displayed in design view (in Adobe Dreamweaver CS 5.5), all worked well in live view on my local (Windows) computer and so I uploaded the files to the (Linux) hosting server of my service provider ( Godaddy.com) .
    This is where I ran into trouble. I keep having the following dialog:
    “SpryMenu.js requires SpryWidget.js” followed by “SpryMenuBarKeyNavigationPlugin.jr requires SpryMenu.js”.
    To be sure that there were no coding errors on my side, I downloaded the complete source code attached to David’s article (the Bayside Pulse sample files). To my great frustration, I got the same result: a perfect menu bar in Live View on the local computer and the above mentioned dialog while running the code on the server.
    This is where I need some help. It appears that the Javascript include files can’t  be found on the server, although I checked and they are just where they should be…
    I need some suggestions how to proceed from here.

    Login to your webshosting server. Under the file manager, check if the file size is same as it is on your local machine.
    The file size of "SpryWidget.js"should be same on local and remote server.

  • How to Change the "Show" link appearance in all WebHelp Topics

    Hi there,
    I was wondering how to update the "Show" link in all of my help system topics.
    I selected the "Show Navigation Pane Link in topics" option when publishing my WebHelp project in Robohelp 9, and a "Show" link appears above my breadcrumbs that allows the user to get back to the TOC pane when they launch a Context Sensitive Help link from the application.
    This option is great - however, I would like to update the "Show" link to appear as a button, rather than a hyperlink. Is there a way to do this? I searched this forum but didn't come across anything, so I was hoping that someone out there could help me out with this.
    I have attached a screen shot of my help system with the "Show" link circled....this is what I would like to update to something else.
    Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,
    Andrea

    Hi, Andrea
    You can change the text of the link fairly simply. But, I'm not aware of an out of the box solution to replacing that with a button. Perhaps Rick Stone has uncovered a hack in his Skinny on Skins that can offer a solution?
    He's at http://www.robowizard.com
    Meanwhile, if you want to change the Show text, here is the solution to that:
    1. File > Project Settings > Click the Advanced button
    2. Select the LNG tab
    3. Under the [Common] category scroll to Show=Show
    4. Edit the text after Show= to any text you like.

  • How can i change 'selected menu link' color in af:menuTree

  • How to change the menu button picture?

    Hi,
    How can I change the picture (or the 'movie frame') that appears in the sub-chapter menu buttons (those that link directly to different movies) in Encore CS5? By dedfault there appears the first frame from the sequence which in my case is black as I start my sequences with 'dip to black' dissolves. So, all of my sub-chapter menu buttons have black pictures as a result of that. I don't want to animate them, I just want to learn how to pick a frame from the sequence and turn it into a menu button picture.
    Thanks

    Dear Ann and Bill,
    Thanks a lot for your help!
    Unfortunately, I can mark only one answer as correct and I decided to give advantage to Ann as her reply was first and she is a lady.
    I know Bill will not mind.

  • Extended Notifications: how to change the URL link

    Hello,
    We are on ECC6. We use Extended Notifications to alert users to the presence of new workitems, but when they click on the link to execute the workitem, they're presented with the login screen.
    We have been able to send emails from workflow which contain a link that does not ask for a login so I know which URL to use. The problem is, how can you set the URL in Extended Notifications? How does it decide which URL to use? I've tried changing a few General Settings in SWNCONFIG, none of them made a difference.
    Any hints, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.
    regards

    Hi Rick,
    I wrote my own notification handler to solved an link issue (wanted to point to a specific iView url). I changed the notification handler via Category and double clicking on the category:
    Scenario                        WORKFLOW
    Category                        ZCATEGORY
    Description                    Adobe Administrator
    Requested Reliability          0 Undefined
    Collective Message             A Grouping with Othe
    Notification Priority          5 Medium
                                   Delete After Send
    Category Handler               CL_SWN_CATEGORY
    Notification Handler           ZCL_SWN_NOTIF_WF
    Handler for User               CL_SWN_USER_STD
    Have a look at some of the methods:
    LOAD_INSTANCE_WA
    ADD_LINKS_ACTION
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_DISPLAY
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_EXECUTE
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_DECISION
    CREATE_ACTION_ATTACHMENT
    CREATE_INBOX_ATTACHMENT
    Hope it helps you understand how the link is created.

  • How to change the menu item text

    Hi,
    in cj20n transaction, for one of menu item i have to change the text of the item. How can i change the text.
    Regards,
    Ram

    HI,
    First try to find the exists available for that transaction and find menu exit in that exist. Once you find the exits create project in tcode cmod then go to that menu exit.
    Just double click on that exit, it will show the existing text, if you want to change the text then click on change mode, it will asks for package, you have to provide package then give the text whatever you want and save it and activate it.
    The new text will be available in your transaction.
