    Hi,
    Use the function module NUMERIC_CHECK.
    Exx
    DATA: S_STRING TYPE STRING.
    DATA: DDIC_TYPE TYPE DD01V-DATATYPE.
    CALL FUNCTION 'NUMERIC_CHECK'

    IF HTYPE = 'NUMC'.

  • Reflection/Introspection: how to check simple vs complex inst variables?

    Hi developers,
    I need to traverse an object tree (xml based generation) and check whether underlying objects (e.g. instance variables) are primitive types/wrappers (int, Integer, short, Short) or complex types (e.g. Employee, Customer, ...). The purpose is to allow users to directly enter data in primitive fields and to expand complex nodes.
    I am using introspection/reflection.
    Until now I have come out with the following code:
    public class MyTest {
        public static final List<Class> primitiveList;
        static {
         primitiveList = new ArrayList<Class>();
         primitiveList.add(String.class);
         primitiveList.add(Integer.class);
         primitiveList.add(Date.class);
         primitiveList.add(Short.class);
         primitiveList.add(Double.class);
         primitiveList.add(Long.class);
        public static boolean isPrimitive(Object obj) {
         return primitiveList.contains(obj.getClass());
        public static void main(String[] arg){
         String foo = "foo";
         System.out.println(isPrimitive(foo)?"primitive":"complex");
    }It looks very low-level to me... Can anyone please suggest a better way to do this?
    Thanks and kind regards

    My guess is that you will have to write most of this yourself and that it will be custom code.
    However, take a look at nakedobjects.org (no, it's not an adult site). It allows users to do exactly what you are trying (or at least partially what you are trying).
    You can optimize your method slightly by using common classes (e.g., Number, CharacterSequence, etc.) but then will have to use Class#isAssignableFrom on each.

  • How to check for the variable passed to a function inside a component

    I'm trying to pass a variable to a function inside of a
    component in a conditional statement.
    How to check the existance of this variable inside the
    function so that I can use the right <CFarguments>:
    in aForm.cfm I have:
    <cfinvoke component="#application.cfcroot#.business.Order"
    method="selOrderItems"
    returnvariable="q_OrderItems"
    OrderItemAbbreviation="Min"></cfinvoke>
    <cfset MCompIDs = ValueList(q_OrderItems.OrderItemID)>
    <cfif listFind(MCompIDs,attributes.CompID)>
    <cfset isM = true>
    <cfelse>
    <cfset isM = false>
    </cfif>
    <cfinvoke component="#application.cfcroot#.business.Order"
    method="selOrderItems"
    returnvariable="q_OrderItems"
    OrderItemAbbreviation="SMEnroll"></cfinvoke>
    <cfset SM_CompIDs =
    ValueList(q_OrderItems.OrderItemID)>
    <cfif listFind(SM_CompIDs,attributes.CompID)>
    <cfset isSM = true>
    <cfelse>
    <cfset isSM = false>
    </cfif>
    <CFIF isSM>
    <cfset temppath = frmcreator.buildFrm(isSMFlag=isSM)>
    <CFELSE>
    <cfset temppath = frmcreator.buildFrm(isMFlag=isM)>
    </CFIF>
    On aFormComp.cfc where the function is,
    I checked the existance of isSMFlag this way and I got error
    saying that :
    Context validation error for tag CFARGUMENT.; The tag must be
    nested inside a CFFUNCTION tag.
    How can I properly check the existance of isSMFlag inside the
    function so I can use the right cfarguments?
    <CFFUNCTION NAME="buildFrm" access="public"
    returntype="String" output="No">
    <cfif StructKeyExists(arguments, "isSMFlag")>
    <CFARGUMENT NAME="isSMFlag" REQUIRED="YES"
    TYPE="NUMERIC">
    <cfelse>
    <CFARGUMENT NAME="isMFlag" REQUIRED="YES"
    TYPE="NUMERIC">
    </cfif>
    ........ etc
    </CFFUNCTION>

    <CFFUNCTION NAME="buildFrm" access="public"
    returntype="String"
    output="No">
    <cfif StructKeyExists(arguments, "isSMFlag")>
    <CFARGUMENT NAME="isSMFlag" REQUIRED="YES"
    TYPE="NUMERIC">
    <cfelse>
    <CFARGUMENT NAME="isMFlag" REQUIRED="YES"
    TYPE="NUMERIC">
    </cfif>
    ........ etc
    </CFFUNCTION>
    NOT this way, that is for sure.
    The <cfargument ...> tag is for defining the arguments
    a function
    accepts either optional or not, but they are not required.
    Give this a
    try to see the differences.
    test.cfc
    <cfcomponent>
    <cffunction name="a">
    <cfdump var="#arguments#">
    </cffunction>
    <cffunction name="b">
    <cfargument name="foo">
    <cfargument name="bar">
    <cfdump var="#arguments#>
    </cffunction>
    </cfcomponent>
    test.cfm
    <cfset something = createObject("component","test")>
    <cfoutput>
    #something.a("blue","green")#
    #something.b("blue","green")#
    </cfoutput>

  • How to check Variable Names

    Hi All,
    I am checking in CMOD include.  It has lot of code. Example:  When 'ZFISPER' . I think that is Variable Technical name. How to check that variable and in Which Query it is.
    Please let me know...
    Thanks in advance..
    KN

    Hello,
    You can go over into transaction code RSA1 and then on your left hand side you will be able to see lot of tabs in terms of Modeling, Administration, Transport Connection and so on.
    So go ahead and click on the tab "Transport Connection" and in the next screen you will be able to see all object types available in your environment.
    Please go ahead and open up the section "Query Elements", if you are not able to see the same, on the left under the transport connection you will see the folder "SAP Transport" and within that the option called "Object Types", just click on it once and all the object types which are available for transports will show up.
    Once you have selected Query Elements, under that you will be able to see different Query related objects and you will be having "Variable". When you drilldown on Variable folder you can double click "Select Objects" and select your appropriate variable name.
    One other way to proactively get a list of variables available in your system and to find out on which InfoObject they have been buill, please go into transaction se16 or se12 and then enter the table name RSZGLOBV.
    In this table you can get a list of all the variables along with the metadata without trying to parse through one by one variable.
    Thanks
    Dharma.

  • How to make use of the presentation variable in SQL result query

    I have 2 prompts in my dashboard.
    Prompt1 decides the values of Prompt2.
    I have set a presentation Variable (selected_comp) in prompt1 which holds the value selected.
    To populate the values for Prompt2, I need to execute a query using the presenation variable set by Prompt1.
    SELECT "List Of Values".RID from rocketv2_3 WHERE "List Of Values".NAME='COMPONENT' AND "List Of Values".VAL=@{selected_comp}
    the query is resulting into
    SQL Issued: SELECT "List Of Values".RID from rocketv2_3 WHERE "List Of Values".NAME='COMPONENT' AND "List Of Values".VAL=0
    but the value in selected_comp is "ABC".
    Can anybody help in how to make use of the presentation variable in query to get the correct value
    thanks
    Shubha

    Just use constrain check box to filter your 2nd prompt values based on the 1st prompt.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    I'm not sure what you mean by, 'How to check with table for cursor..?' but I'll offer a comment on your Code Snippet. I think you want to know how to check if a record exists so you know if you need to perform an INSERT or an UPDATE.
    Here is a snippet of your code. I'll put my comments in "Comment" style in your code.
    -- Insert / Update final profit plan for final_update query using cursor
       FOR rec_final_update_el IN cur_final_update_el

  • How to access the Custom Data type variable given in Expression edit control To and From LabVIEW

    Hello, I would like to know how to access the custom data type variable given in the Espression Edit Control from LabVIEW and vice-versa
    Say, the FileGlobals.Reference_Handle (Custom Data Type Variable) contains the
    VISA I/O session (Which in turn contains VISA_DeviceName: String, Session: Number),
    Channel1: Number and
    Channel2: Number
    I am expecting the user to give FileGlobals.Reference_Handle as the input at the ExpressionEdit Control in the edit screen of the VI Call.
    I would like to know how to get the values of this custom data type to LabVIEW?
    Say, if I have the Cluster in LabVIEW like VISA I/O session (Deive Name and Session Number), Channel1 and Channel2
    how do i need to set this cluster to the Custom Data type variable in TestStand?
    Thanks and Regards
    Prakash

    Hi,
    TestStand to LabVIEW: i didnt understand what you r trying to achieve. But if you are using references, Use Property nodes and Invoke nodes to achieve what you want in LabVIEW.
     LabVIEW to TestStand: check the image below: You need to click the button next to 'container'. I have used a cluster output in the VI.
    Hope this helps

  • SAP Script - How to check a text element is empty in Script.

    Hi Senthil,
    Inside text element, we print the variables.

  • How to check item_name uniquness..?

    Hello all,
    Can any boady Help me how How to check item_name uniquness..?
    by creating a case sensitive check list validation of the item_names entered..?
    i want an optimized code if possible..?
    regards,
    Abdetu..

    Are you talking about block items? In my experience forms will check some items
    for uniqueness at design time, eg text items. But I have run afoul of it not checking
    button names. Button names appear to have to be globally unique instead of
    block unique. Forms (10gr2) does not check this rule at design time but at run time
    a non-unique button name causes failure.
    This is one of a great many cases where it would be hugely nice if forms would
    do more checking at design or compile time. Actually I'd vote for buttons being on
    a block basis and not form global myself tho. Since they are connected to blocks
    it seems only reasonable for their namespace to be on a block level.
    Aother thing it would be great for forms to check would be to complain about
    variables with the same name as some constant defined in forms. A person can accidentally create some of the weirdest problems by inadvertently defining a variable
    with the same name as some constant.

  • How to view output of SAP Exit variables

    Hi All,
    I want to view the data of standard SAP Exit variables. For example, for displaying the current date, SAP has provided some variables to use in the report. Can you please guide me where to get all the variables and how to see the output of these variables.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    1) In Business Content all the variable will available.
    2) If you will proper standard variable in your report, there is no need to check still you need to check then use RSRT tcode, give the report name and execute with EXECUTE+DEBUG option.
    3) for example current calender day data need in report then standard exit variable to you character sticks or depend upon same logic directly use in your key figure, in this case for that key figure value always current day date.
    4) it may helps you and elaborate your idea and explore your issue for further discussion.

  • How to check the Conditional transition while submit the jsp as screenflo

    Hi All,
    I want to know that how to check the conditional transition, which result is used to decide the next Activity while submit the JSP as Screen Flows
    Edited by bpmvasu at 03/27/2007 11:14 PM

    Hi,
    Unlike BPM Object Presentations where the 'selectedButton' is automatically assigned to the predefined screenflow 'result' variable, when using JSP Persentations you need to do the mapping yourself (I don't think there is a way around this).
    Assuming you're using a JSP Presentation with a Fuego Object Interactive Call, click the 'Advanced' button at the bottom of the Main Task dialog.
    Select the 'showOut' argument set, add a new argument mapping. Select 'result' from the Screenflow's instance variables and map it to 'parameters["paramName"]'. Where paramName is the name of the HTML submit input element in your JSP.
    Hope this helps,
    Tim
