How to Check a Value from a Lookup table??

Hi Experts,
I have 2 lookup tables.
If a Value in Lk1 is selected, i need to check if that selected value is present in Lk2 table.
Ex:
MF table (Look up 1)
0001
0002
0003
0004
Ecc Table (Look up 2).
0001
0003
0004
0005
Note: User will not have access to Look up table 2.
So, When user selects any value in MF table (Look up 1) then the validation should check if that value is present in Look uptable 2 (Ecc table).
If present then true Else False.
Did someboday face a similar situation!!!

I see your requirement this way...
1) I will add two fields to your current Lookup table and link to one field in the main table, say the field name is LK
2) Create a Lookup Flat Multi Valued field in the main table which will be linked to a lookup table name systems which has different remote system names used in the landscape.By this field i will be identifying whether the record is for remote system MF or Remote System ECC or both
Say the your current Lookup table structure is
Code
Name
What i do is add two fields to the current structure
Code
Name
ECC
MF
And the sample data will be like this
Code    Name           ECC       MF
0001      xx              Yes      Yes
0002      xx              No        Yes
0003      xx              Yes      Yes
0004      xx              Yes      Yes
0005      xx              Yes       No
By this way i can easily validate the record which is selected in the main table exists in ECC and MF Systems based on the systems field in the main table.
Validaiton Code for checking the record exists in ECC
If( HAS_ANY_VALUES(systems,ECC)=TRUE,LK1.ECC=Yes)
Validaiton Code for checking the record exists in MF
If( HAS_ANY_VALUES(systems,MF)=TRUE,LK1.MF=Yes)

end loop;or you can't add this
set serveroutput onor maybe, you are working in third party application where dbms_output is not applicable at all?
You see, not able like very similar it is not working - both are too vague...

How to check the value from user input in database or not?

I want to check the value of user input from JtextFiled in my database or not.
If it is in database, then i will pop up a window to tell us, otherwise, it will tell us it is not in database.
My problem is my code do not work properly, sometimes, it tell me correct information, sometime it tell wrong information.

You may have working code now, but the code you posted is horrible and I'm going to tell you a much much much better approach for the JDBC part. (You should probably isolate your database code from your user interface code as well, but I'm skipping over that structural problem...)
Do this instead:

Second, this retrieves just the needed information, whether or not the id is in the database. Your way will get much much slower as more data goes into the database. My way, if there is an index on the id column, more data doesn;t slow it down very much.

No guarantees that there isn't a dumb typo in there; I didn't actually compile it, much less test it. It's at least close though...

im having a problem getting a column value that is a select one choice object.
This is not a common problem since i actually did different thing than others so please follow my problem
description and if you have any answer/questions please reply below.
I have create a Database View that returns me 3 columns, lets say TestCode, TestDescription, TestValue.
I have added one extra temporally column in my OV and called Temp.
I drag & drop my OV, delete Temp value, and its column position, i drag&drop a LOV that is from another View,
that shows me Doctor's name & surname and return doctor's id as select one choice value.
Im using a function that go thru the iterator, gets the rows, and save them in database (doesn't matter how).
The problem is, my selectonechoice, do not have row.bindings.DoctorId.InputValue but bindings.DoctorId.InputValue instead, so i can retrieve the current row's selectonechoice value.
So when my loop is finish and insert the rows in to my database, all row's doctor's id is the same since the binding do not change thru the loop.
I don't know how to get the current row's select one choice value to use the correct value on each row loop.
Here is my loop function:

I have created a work around solution, until any more expert than me come with more advance solution.
1) I add a LOV at doctor's id on target View object.
2) On runtime, i populate my Database View
3) go through all rows in my DB View iterator
4) add each row on the target View Object (missing the doctor's id, since i want that to be on runtime) & commit rows
5) after the loop is done and the target view object show me the results of the DB View, i choose on runtime the doctor's id and commit the changes so
the new rows, with new updated date will be finally populated to the database.
Hope this helps if anyone have a similar task.
Please let me know if you find a more direct solution, that working with 2 tables to populate 1.

When I pass values from my java code through JDBC to this store procedure, how can I insert values from the "p_item_tbl" table object into ITEM table?

I have a backing bean where I have bounded a field of an ADF table.
I would like, in the bean, to read the value of that field so that I can use it inside a task flow router.
The question: how to read a value from a ADF table column field ?
In the bean I have the getter and setter of the RichInputText ADF table field. But when I type:

I need to get the value contained in a row cell of an ADF table.
Let's say the table (two rows, three cells) contains these values:
"table_A", "123", "John"
"table_B", "456", "Peter"
When I click on the first row, I need the value: "table_A". Once I got that value, I extract the last char, in this case: "A", and then I call a specific task flow from a task flow router (specified in the task flow router Cases property).
When I click on the second row, the same process applies, only the router now points to another flow view.
So to summarize, I need to get the value of a row cell in an ADF table. How to do that from within a javaBean in JDeveloper 11g Release 2 ?

Each time I select a row on the ADF table, the function setHerkunft() runs - I see that from within the JDeveloper console - but when I try to get its value, I get a null value - hence the surrounding if statement.

I´m still with trouble in retrieving the value in HTML.
In debug the C_CELL_ID seems to be correctly updated but
when using the command "document.getElementById" the value is always "null".
I implemented in the method DATA_CELL the code :
if i_x = 3 and i_y = 2.
C_CELL_ID = 'zs'.
C_CELL_CONTENT = 10.
endif.
And in HTML :

How to assign tasks in Approval Workflow to a set of users selected from a Lookup table

I am new to Project Server and I am using Project Server 2013 On premises deployement. Please help me on how to achieve the below scenario:
I have a requirement where, the initial PDP will have 2 fields (Reviewers and Approvers), wherein the engineer himself will select who the reviewer and approver from the Lookup tables.
Now I have to start task process with these selected people for approval.
Say for example , engineer has selected Alice and Bob as 2 reviewers, then

Then I tried assigning only 1 person as Reviewer, then also I get the same error.
So can anybody please tell me where I went wrong. Is it not possible to fetch the data from the values selected as Project Data from the Lookup tables ? If not then what is the workaround I can use to achieve this ?

Yes I am using SP designer for Workflows. And yes, You were right, there was a mismatch in the names of AD account and the Lookup table, now with 1 person selected from the lookup table it is assigning the task properly. However with multiple selection,
it is failing.
As Robert mentioned, the fetched value is a text as "Alice, Bob", which makes 2 usernames as a single text. So when I try to assign a task to this group, which returns value as "Alice, Bob", workflow fails to find such AD user, as it
is an invalid value.
So is there any way I can seperate this out to form 2 different username ? I checked for string extraction function in th Workflow, but nothing helped me for this scenario.
Any input will be helpful.

ABC COPA, how to derive charateristic value from BKPF-XBLNR

As we only use FI-CO modules in our SAP solution, I am implementing the ABC COPA
I have created one characteristic (user defined, with reference to existing field - data element XBLNR1)
When I post my invoice I want to pass the value in the BKPF-XBLNR to my characteristic.
I used the" table lookup" to get my value for this characteristic (the only one which allows getting values from non COPA tables)
SAP automatically suggests company code, document number and fiscal year as source fields for lookup.
Then I assign BKPF-XBLNR to my characteristic.
In OKB9 I have also checked the indicator "Find profitability segment using substitution" for the GL account I use for my test.
When I enter my customer invoice in FB01, I press the "segment" button, but my characteristic is empty (unlike the profit centre characteristic which is taken over from my entry screen)
When I execute "analyse derivation", the document number has no content (Source field contain no value) which is normal as the accounting document is not yet posted...
I tried to post my invoice using document type with external numbering, but it doesn't work neither.
When I save the document it automatically creates a segment with empty values.
So how can I pass the characteristic values from the accounting document fields?

First think I would recommend you is not to attempt this step at all. Once you create FI document as a chaechteristic it will spoil the performance of your CE4 table totally. So we do not recommend to do this. The second thing is it is technically not possible to derive FI document number from SD invoice as these are two completely different tables and there are no link between them at all.

getCurrentRow() would always return null if no setCurrentRow() is used.
Please check the page design and understand how many rows of VO are there. You can also use the following to get the row:

vo.next();

How to get a value from one item into another

How can i get value from one item into another item.
Ex: I have a report, in there i have check boxes, and when i have checked some rows, and press submitt, a prosses computates it into a item on another page, and a branche redirects to page 3. Then i'm going to use the value in the item into a PL/SQL script in an report to show the submittet items.
How can i do this?
Computation script, pages and all that is fixed. But i dont know which PL/SQL statement to use to get th value from the item.

Use the V() function from pl/sql.
e.g. V('P3_MY_ITEM')
will return the value of that page item.
As long as the pl/sql is called from within the Apex environment.

Are you trying to fetch data from Dimension Attr OR Fact Measures? Did you try the advance tab - > Advanced SQL Clauses - > Check this box to issue an explicit Select Distinct.

I have used all the steps as you mentioned in your previous reply....including checking Mulitple Selection Check Box..
Iam able to get the results when I am selecting one value..
and also I am able to handle multiple values the in the query by using IN :Parameter, but seems when we select more than one value from the parameter drop down i think the Bi Publisher is sending the values in concatenated form something ilke
ex: "'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'" ,and when trying to display the parameters values in the output, its throwing the error as 'missing right paranthesis' ....on the whole do you have any solution which would handle
1.Single selection.
2.Multiple selection.
3.'ALL' Values.
4.Separating the concatenated string into individual strings and dispaly them on the output of the report..etc..in case of Mulitple selection.
Ex:
Concatenated String from BI Publisher:"'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'"
Expected Output on the report:ACCOUNT,HR,SALES
