How to compare two recordsets for common or difference or join (ASP)

Good day,
I have Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and here is my question. I have created two recordsets, one called Active_Stu and the other is called Active_Emps. One deals with active employees and the other deals with active Students. Both hava ids of students and employees. The student id field is called stuid and the employee id field in the active employee record set is called empid. They are both integers and come from one table. Each recordset is a SQL query that work fine on its own. How can I join the two recordsets into a third recordset? How can I find the ids in one that is not in the other one? or the ones that both have in common? I can do all that in Access by bringing the two queries into the third one and do a left join or others but not sure how to do such action in the Dreamweaver.
I am using VB ASP for my development.
Any ideas?

Don't try to join two recordsets to find rows different or in common between tables. You do the same as you would in Access. Just write a single SQL query that joins the tables. Depending on what exactly you are looking for, you would use inner joins, outer joins or sub-selects.

The missing thing. You have to keep in mind that what you see is not the same as the camera sees.
So when using IMAQ Substract it gives you the difference of the value of every single pixel!
In order to find the mouse as only difference you have to manage that every other pixel value stays the same, e.g. with a proper lightening.
At the other hand you can combine different filters or alogorithms to get the object, e.g. if the object is darker or brighter then everything else in the image you could use a threshold and then use morphologic operations to get the objects size and position.

XML Files may be compared with the oracle.xml.differ.XMLDiff class.
A file consisting of the differences in the xml files gets generated. An XSLT to convert one file to the other also gets generated.

How to compare two Objects !!!!

I know that this question has been asked 100 times till now. But trust me I have checked all of them but couldn`t find answer. Here is my question:
I have an objecs. In that object I am setting (Id,Name,DOJ). Now I want to check whether the object I am trying to save in database already exists or not. If exists then I need to check whether all the setters are same for the two objects. Now can anyone tell me ,how to compare two objects directly without comparing the setters individually.

p.s. don't let the bean terminology confuse you. Beans are just ordinary objects which follow a few rules. Personally I wish the term had never been coined.

??how to compare two resultsets??

hi all!
i need to find out whether two resultsets contain the same data.
the only way i know how to do it in java is to put them into a while loop and fetch the contents first and then compare the contents.
but is there an easier way to compare resultsets?
does anyone know how to compare two resultsets without extracting the data?
the code example here executes two identical queries on an oracle database, compare and print the resultsets.

as you can see the resultsets are different though the data they contain have to be the same.
so the 'if(resultset#1 == resultset#2)' does not work.

Don't cross-post.
I'll bet ResultSet implementations don't override equals() to provide "deep equals" behavior, in which case it'll be no different than using "==".
It's a bad idea to compare two ResultSets this way. You'll have to load both into objects or data structures and compare those in a "deep" way.
Besides, the ONLY way two ResultSets could be different, given the same query, would be if there were multiple clients that could write to the table between queries and change the underlying data. If your two queries are sufficiently isolated, I'd say that the same query will return the same ResultSet.

This is starting to sound rather a lot like a homework problem.
An MD5 message digest is simply a 16 byte array. To compare two message digests...

In a networked scenario, there are two issues - firstly the performance in sending copies of files all over the place (imagine if it's a 10Gb file to be compared over a 14.4K modem link, this would take a while). Secondly, the network link itself might insert an error in the file and you'd get a false miss.
By only sending MD5 digests over the link, you simultaneously reduce the error (shorter files are less likely to be corrupted) and reduce the transmission time (16 bytes takes practically no time to transmit over damp string, let alone any sort of sensible device).
