How to configure Sesion Factory in Hibernate to implement getCurrentSession

Hi,
I am new in Hibernate and I am using an application where I need to improve the performance while uploading the users through a utility. While analyzing the system, I found that, to insert a single user there were around 8 hits are made to DB to get the information and based on that finally it inserts the user. The strange thing I have noticed is that for every hit, a new DB connection is opened in code using the snippet getHibernateTemplate().getSessionFactory().openSession();
However, the connection is getting closed in finally block. But I think instead of using Open Connection; getCurrentSession can save time.
Can any one suggest whether I am on right track?
Also, when I have tried to use getCurrentSession I have simply replaced "getHibernateTemplate().getSessionFactory().openSession();" with "getHibernateTemplate().getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession();" from everywhere in code.
But when I tried to run the Utility I got some Hibernate Exception stating "No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation".
Could anyone suggest do I need to configure anything else in my applicationcontext.xml to use the getCurrentSession() method.
Thanks in advance.

the method getCurrentSession() should be done using Singleton factory method so that you have only one connection per application. You can implement something like this as coded below:
import java.io.File;
import javax.naming.InitialContext;
import org.apache.log4j.Logger;
import org.hibernate.HibernateException;
import org.hibernate.Session;
import org.hibernate.SessionFactory;
import org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration;
import org.hibernate.cfg.Environment;
* @author hennebrueder This class garanties that only one single SessionFactory
*         is instanciated and that the configuration is done thread safe as
*         singleton. Actually it only wraps the Hibernate SessionFactory.
*         When a JNDI name is configured the session is bound to to JNDI,
*         else it is only saved locally.
*         You are free to use any kind of JTA or Thread transactionFactories.
public class InitSessionFactory {
      * Default constructor.
     private InitSessionFactory() {
      * Location of hibernate.cfg.xml file. NOTICE: Location should be on the
      * classpath as Hibernate uses #resourceAsStream style lookup for its
      * configuration file. That is place the config file in a Java package - the

     /** The single instance of hibernate configuration */
     private static final Configuration cfg = new Configuration();
     /** The single instance of hibernate SessionFactory */
     private static org.hibernate.SessionFactory sessionFactory;
      * initialises the configuration if not yet done and returns the current
      * instance
      * @return
     public static SessionFactory getInstance() {
          if (sessionFactory == null)
               initSessionFactory();
          return sessionFactory;

  • How to configure initial-context-factory and provider_url on Websphere MQ

    I have a few questions about WebSphere MQ. Currently, my application is able work well with other JMS provider. But I would like to move to use WebSphere instead.
    Can anyone suggest me how to configure the application connecting WebSphere?
         Im using the Initial java naming factory as bellows: com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactoryIs it the correct class?
         About the java-naming-factory-url, How do I know what object that I should use? I found this example in JMSAdmin.config iiop://localhost:7555 Whats iiop ?
         What jar file that I should add in my classpath?

    Hi,
    You have a few options...
    1. Use WebSphere Application Server as the JNDI provider
    2. Don't use JNDI
    3. Use the File System Context as the JNDI provider
    Exploring these options in a bit more detail...
    1. Use WebSphere Application Server as the JNDI provider
    Assuming you have WAS, the best way of obtaining your queue is to define the Queue and Queue Connection Factory objects in WAS using the admin console, then obtain them from the Initial Context as per the following article
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.express.doc/info/exp/ae/rnam_example_prop2.html
    If you prefer not to do JNDI lookups in your code a great alternative is to use Spring (www.springframework.org). If you haven't come across spring before it's well worth a look. One of it's many features is a bean factory for creating your objects. There is lots of support for retrieving JMS objects from JNDI, so in the main all you have to do is write some XML similar to the following...
    <bean id="jndiTemplate" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiTemplate">
           <property name="environment">
                  <props>
                         <prop key="java.naming.factory.initial">${jndi.initialContextFactory}</prop>
                         <prop key="java.naming.provider.url">${jndi.providerUrl}</prop>
                  </props>
           </property>
    </bean>
    <bean id="queueConnectionFactory" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
           <property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate"/>
           <property name="jndiName" value="${jndi.queueConnectionFactory}"/>
    </bean>
    <bean id="queueName" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
           <property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate"/>
           <property name="jndiName" value="${jndi.queueName}"/>
    </bean>There's a bit more to it than this, but not much. I've been meaning to write a tutorial on this for a while so if you're interested let me know.
    2. Don't use JNDI
    This approach involves using the creating the native MQ Queue Connection Factory and Queue classes. You can hard code this, but it's much better to abstract it from your application. Again you can use Spring. The definition would look something like the following...
    <bean id="MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP"
    class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean">
           <property name="staticField">
                  <value>com.ibm.mq.jms.JMSC.MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP</value>
           </property>
    </bean>
    <bean id="queueConnectionFactory" class="com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueConnectionFactory">
           <property name="transportType" ref="MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP" />
           <property name="queueManager" value="${mq.queueManager}" />
           <property name="hostName" value="${mq.host}" />
           <property name="port" value="${mq.port}" />
           <property name="channel" value="${mq.channel}" />
    </bean>
    <bean id="publishInvoiceQ" class="com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueue">
           <constructor-arg value="${mq.queueName}" />
    </bean>
    3. Use the File System Context
    The file system context is just like a JNDI context, but instead of using a url like iiop://host:port you have to specify a file system url. Because FSContext is just another JNDI context you can still use the spring configuration from option 1, but just change the relevant parameters.
    In order to define you queues and queue connection factory using the File System Context, you need to download a swing application called JMS Admin. Get it here
    http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24004691&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
    With regards your specific questions...
    IIOP is just another communication protocol. If you want more details I'm sure typing "what is iiop" into google will provide plenty of hits.
    I'll do my best to answer the remain two tomorrow - I wrote an application a few months ago which used the File System Context, but don't have the details to hand.

  • How to create and configure JMSConnection Factory programatically?

    Guys,
              How to create and configure JMSConnection Factory programatically and (<b>NOT THRU CONSOLE</b>)?
              There is an option using the JMSHepler to create the Queues.
              Is there an option to create ConnectionFactories using the same or other classes?
              anshuk

    There are no 8.1 "JMSHelper" extensions for creating conection factories (they've been added for 9.0). Instead, you can use a variety of more generic methods.
              You can create configuration scripts using WLST or wlconfig or wlshell, or make direct calls from java into WebLogic's public JMX mbean APIs (all config tools, including the console, call into these APIs).
              For a JMX example, see the implementation of the "JMSML" utility on dev2dev.bea.com. For WLST examples search for "+WLST +JMS".

  • How to configure Queue and QueueConnectionFactory for a MDB

    Hi *,
    I want to send some messages from a session bean to a message driven bean. Therefore I'll use the default Queue (sapDemoQueue) and QueueConnectionFactory.
    In the ServiceLocator of my SessionBean I do the lookup with following methods:
        public QueueConnectionFactory getQueueConnectionFactory() throws NamingException {
            if (queueConnectionFactory == null) {
                Object obj = ctx.lookup("jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory");
                queueConnectionFactory = (QueueConnectionFactory) obj;
            return queueConnectionFactory;
        public Queue getQueue() throws NamingException {
            if (queue == null) {
                Object obj = ctx.lookup("jmsqueues/default/sapDemoQueue");
                queue = (Queue) obj;
            return queue;
    My Message Driven Bean is configure as followed:
    ejb-jar.xml:
    <message-driven>
      <ejb-name>ExportBean</ejb-name>
      <ejb-class>de.test.ejb.abschluss.ExportBean</ejb-class>
      <transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
      <message-driven-destination>
        <destination-type>javax.jms.Queue</destination-type>
      </message-driven-destination>
    </message-driven>
    ejb-j2ee-engine.xml:
    <enterprise-bean>
      <ejb-name>ExportBean</ejb-name>
      <message-props>
        <destination-name>jmsqueues/default/sapDemoQueue</destination-name>
        <connection-factory-name>jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory</connection-factory-name>
      </message-props>
    </enterprise-bean>
    I also create a jms-factories.xml and a jms-destination.xml.
    EAR-Project/META-INF/jms-factories.xml:
    <jms-factories>
      <connection-factory>
        <factory-name>jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory</factory-name>
        <context-factory-type>
          <link-factory-name>jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory</link-factory-name>
          <initial-context-factory>com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl</initial-context-factory>
          <provider-url>localhost</provider-url>
          <security-principal>Administrator</security-principal>
        </context-factory-type>
        <client-id></client-id>
      </connection-factory>
    </jms-factories>
    EAR-Project/META-INF/jms-destination.xml:
    <jms-destinations>
      <destination>
        <connection-factory>jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory</connection-factory>
        <destination-name>jmsqueues/default/sapDemoQueue</destination-name>
      </destination>
    </jms-destinations>
    How to configure correctly?
    Does anybody an example how to configure?
    Where may I download the example of the SAP documentation at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3d/41bee546e94ad48537f2cf06a29818/frameset.htm

  • How to configure JMS queue on OC4J server. Development in JDeveloper 10G

    Hi there,
    I have to configure a JMS for an Asynchronous process in my Application which will be running in Oracle 10G Application Server. Development Environment is Oracle JDeveloper 10G.
    I am facing a problem on how to configure JMS queue.
    Steps Followed are:
    in the <JDevloperHome>/j2ee/home/config
    1. Made the new queue and connection factory's JMS entry in jms.xml.
    2. Specifed the queue in oc4j-connectors.xml.
    3. played around with application.xml
    and tried all combinations, but the message producer always failed to lookup the queue.
    Need help on the steps to follow so that the producer can post the message in the queue.
    Also please help how to configure the MDB to listen to the queue.
    Thanx and Regards
    Subham

    If you were dealing with Oracle 10g app server as opposed to standalone, I might be better able to help you.
    One thing though, when you are configuring your MDB in the orion-ejb-jar.xml file, do not forget to specify attribute listener-threads, otherwise no matter how many beans you have in your MDB pool, only one bean will be listening to the queue. Many listener-threads equal to max number of beans in pool.

    Hi Marcelo,
    Obviously I can't speak for any one else on this forum -- but I'm not
    a mind reader. The lookup string you use depends on whether your queue
    client is also deployed to the OC4J container or not -- which you fail
    to mention (in fact you don't mention anything about your environment,
    this always helps -- me, at least :-)it's in the same machine (client and OC4J)
    Also, the type of InitialContext object you create also depends on your client type and how you deploy it.it'd the com.evermind.server.ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory
    So perhaps it would help you obtain an answer if you supplied the following:
    1. Platform (SUN, intel, etc.)Intel
    2. Operating system (UNIX, WinNT, linux, etc.)WinNT
    3. OC4J version (1.0.2.2.1?)R2
    4. Your JMS provider (OC4J, Swift, etc.)OC4J
    5. Your deployment descriptors (XML files).I really need to reference the QueueConnectionFactory and the QUeue itself int he application-client.xml file?

  • HT4259 how to configure extended network via ethernet

    how to configure an extended network via ethernet

    I assume that the Express is new, so that it still has the factory default settings.
    Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Express
    Power up the Extreme and Express if they are not already powered up
    Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utiltities > AirPort Utility
    Click on the tab in the upper left hand corner of the window that reads Other AirPort Base Stations (1)
    Click on the AirPort Express xxxxxx
    Wait a minute or two while AirPort Utility analyzes the network and then announces that the Express will be configured to extend your network
    Enter a name for the AirPort Express and click Next
    Wait 2-3 minutes while AirPort Utility configures the Express and the Express restarts
    When you see the message that setup is complete, click Done
    That's it.

  • Configuring a Factory.

    Hi,
    MyClass produces various subclass objects, based on a parameter passed to it, so perhaps its a factory.
    MyClass object  = ClassFactory.getMyClass(param);getMyClass reads a hardcoded property file from a fixed location, and the file has the mappings of the param passed to it, and the class name to initialize. getMyClass then simpy invokes newInstance() on the classname and returns an object. Its looking good.
         public static getMyClass(String param)
              ResourceBundle bundle = ResourceBundle
                        .getBundle("properties");
              String className = bundle.getString(param);
              Class clazz = Class.forName(className);
              MyClass myObject  = (MyClass) clazz.newInstance();
              return myObject;
         }Well first of all, is it ok to call ClassFactory a factory?
    I want to dynamically set the property file location within ClassFactory, so that the getMyClass method does not have to read the hardcoded file all the time. In other words, I want to configure my factory to before using it. How can I do it? Is there any pattern I can make use of.
    Thanks!

    Yes, it is a Factory.

    At some point, the system needs to know the filename. Now, you could put this in one of several places:
    Hard-coded (as you have now) in Java source within the class
    Hard-coded in a Java class that holds a series of constants/properties
    Within another properties file (kicking the problem down the road)
    Within a database table or external resource (again, kicking the problem down the road)- Saish

  • How to configure oracle listener profile for multiple oracle database

    Hi,
    I am going to install solution manager system in the same server of ERP EHP4 on Windows. Both DB are oracle.
    I'd like to know how to configure listener in this kind of envirnmonent.
    a. use two listener and different ports
    b. use same listener but different ports
    c. use same listener and same port
    Which is the correct mothed?
    And, after installation, there seem three set of profiles of listten, one for ERP, one for SLM, and the other for OS?(%windir%system32), which one is functional?
    Please advise.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Alex

    Hi,
    standard installation is creating new configs for listener for each instance.
    I would recommend to use one listener per each instance.
    YOU CAN NOT HAVE one port number for two differnet systems!
    If you want to use one listener than you must adapt tnsnames.ora, listener.ora and ensure that both systems will use different port numbers.
    For example PORT= 15<system number>

  • How to configure one TREX host with multiple index servers ?

    Hi All,
    Does anyone know how to configure TREX on the one host,
    with multiple index servers ?
    Reason for this is to make better use of resources available on the host server(4 Gig, 4 Processor, Windows2003), to improve the search performance of
    our KM content for portal users.
    I am using TREX 7 and have not been able to do this,
    despite reading the Single and Distributed install
    documentation.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Andres

    Hi Andres,
    To make use of the RAM a Server provides you have to run two indexserver processes (each can then consume 2 GB);
    Proceed like this:
    1. Go to TREXdeamon.ini; check if section [indexserver2] is there (it is already provided, but not active in standard installation)
    2. In TREXdeamon.ini go to
    [daemon]
    references sections below
    programs=nameserver,preprocessor1,indexserver1,queueserver,alertserver
    and add indexserver2 here. Restart TREX; second porcess is then started; can be checked in TREX monitor in Portal as well
    3. To distribute existing indexes to the new process, start TREXadmintool and go to Index: Landscape
    Go to the last two columns and move the indexes (move master here/secondary mouse click)
    If you don't distribute the indexes the new index server process will be regarded when an new index is created.
    Hope this helps!
    cheers

  • How to configure request manager service for multiple website in one web application

    I have set up sp 2013 as below:
     web application : wa1
    site collection : sc1
    sp site: site1, site2
    I used 2 WFE, 1 APP, how can I use request manager service to control  site1 to wfe1, site2 to wfe2?
    Awen

    That's not what i'd describe as load balancing.
    A better description would be load-isolation. In your description then if the load on site1 was large (and growing) but site2 was quiet then site1 would struggle and eventually become unable to handle the number of users but site2 would still be ok. That's
    fine from a QOS point of view but it's not the norm for load balancing. It would work in simple scenarios but the out of the box load balancing tools are much better suited than that sort of approach.
    This article shows how to configure the RMS and may help show how your request is difficult to configure:
